  1. Chloe is currently my favorite and I don't see that changing. Probably this is because I like her voice and style (although her styling and the staging last night was not my favorite), but also because I like the song choices. Like "Chandelier", "Eclipse" is a song that I devote playlists to, and buy pretty much anyone's version. If I could choose for Chloe it would be either "Million Reasons", or perhaps "Perfect Illusion". A variety of Pink's songs also come to mind. I'm assuming and hoping that she will be one of the four finalists. There are times when I haven't followed through on an entire season of TV. There was a long haired guy- Sawyer?- whom I could not take. Alisan Porter was another; I think the fix was obviously in far too early. More recently I stopped watching when Vanessa Ferguson was eliminated. And I could not watch a minute when Usher was a coach. It was a surprise to me that I was neutral on Red's solo last night; I usually just mute him. What a pleasant surprise it was; he actually just sang. I also liked Noah more than I expected. Keisha should go home. Red and Adam too. I think Davon is personally appealing but he is yelling, screeching and oversinging, especially in his more recent performances. Still miss Janice and just say to myself "what?"
  2. For me, Team Jennifer = Team Overwrought. Of all of them, I like Davon the best, but suspect that is because I enjoy his personality. Esera was one of my four initial favorites. I'm very sorry to see him eliminated. While I don't know what song I would have chosen for him; the one Blake chose did not do Esera any favors. Deliberately, IMO. When two of the judges had specific criticisms I knew it was over for him. There is nothing about Red that I like. Did I hallucinate this or did he say he was, or was expecting to be a grandfather? At 40? It was, though, a given that he would stay. Personally I would have preferred Mitchell to Red. Chloe was great. Three of my initial favorites are still in the running. It seems that Brooke is in the strongest position. I've read that the odds are not in favor for my two other favorites, Janice and Jon...
  3. For me the most disappointing aspect of last night's installment was that Esera was montaged. As Star Aristille posted, he has a great backstory. I'm strongly supporting him. And, his song choice for the blinds didn't hurt either. From what I understand the duet last night was "This I Promise You" by N'Sync. I listened to it on genius and it didn't resonate with me. Maharasyi's yellow top (or dress) was gorgeous. Next week I am most looking forward to the other contestant's who interest me the most: Jon and Janice.
  4. The first battle was such a disappointment to me. ITA with PHD-PURGATORY15 about Lucas. And, Meagan was one of my favorites from the blinds. As with others posting here, Brooke's win was, for me, expected and welcomed. Regarding tonight the contestant I am most interested in is Esera Tuaolo and that is mostly based on his song choice in the blinds. If anyone else ever sang Andra Day I either missed it or have forgotten.
  5. One of my least favorite contestants ever was also accused of cheating. He is Jeffrey Sebalia, from season 3. Laura Bennett thought that he was outsourcing sewing. I think some kind of investigation was done. When he was on All Stars there was also some controversy; can't recall if it was cheating or maybe Tim Gunn confiscated something from him.... Perhaps tomorrow we will be treated (meant sarcastically) to an "investigation".
  6. As other posters have said, song choice is very important to me. If I can't relate to a song at all it is difficult for me to pay attention, let alone evaluate or critique. I have five favorites at this time. Four of them made song choices that resonated with me and the other sang something that is not a personal favorite but is familiar. In the order they appeared (maybe not exact but close) they are: Janice Freeman (Radioactive), Brooke Simpson (Stone Cold), Esera Tualo (Rise Up), Meagan McNeal (Can't Feel My Face) and Jon Mero (Versace). "Stone Cold" and "Face" (the relationship interpretation not the addiction one) are relevant to me personally. Although I am more familiar with other Andra Day songs, such as "Red Flags" and "Gold", I was surprised and pleased with Esera's choice. Maybe I hallucinated this, but during one of the blinds segments, I thought I heard Miley say, more than once, that she wanted to win with "country". IIRC that ideation evidently disappeared.
