Nick Zano made Holly from What I Like About You a lot more tolerable. He deserved an Emmy for doing that. I can see why people wouldn't like him... He seems to have lost his purpose on the show within 2 episodes lol. Like I said earlier, having a Historian on board is a great idea if only they utilized him more effectively. I have been enjoying the Nate/Ray dynamic though. It seems like LoT balances things out with Nate/Ray. When Ray is mopey Nate is upbeat and vice versa. Yeah so far I'm not a fan of Jax's interactions with Stein because he tends to end up being whiny and child like and complains a LOT. I can see him being 2nd in command and almost like a little brother to Sara, that'd be a much better use of his character. I was indifferent to Sara in season 2 of Arrow when she was at her most complex and interesting but now she's kind of a bland character to me which is weird considering she's the captain, maybe this will change? But then I also really don't care about her emotional journey with accepting Laurel's death because it's... Laurel lol The show made me go from loathing Ray to liking him so I don't think how I felt in the past about characters on this show really matters. So maybe it's just the acting. IDK I expected CL to grow as an actress throughout the series like EBR has on Arrow, but it doesn't seem like she has. The writing for Sara is actually pretty good and the show is obviously most invested in her, it's the acting that fails the character imo and leads to my disinterest. I think EBRs weakness is still enunciation but overall she's grown a lot.

Overall I'm really enjoying the show. I just finished episode 4. Probably my most favorite aspect of the episode was Stein and them dealing with the zombies in the waverider. His fear of Zombies was not only realistic but it was so endearing. Victor Garber seemed to have the time of his life in this role. I hate that I love Stein the most because of what happens :( As much as I liked Nate's introduction I don't really understand his purpose anymore. They don't use him as a historian much or in a meaningful way. He's no Lucy Preston that's for sure. Timeless definitely makes use of its resident historian better. Mick's line at the end asking Stein why he's about to kiss him was hilarious. Overall though, I like that Mick on the outside seems like he doesn't care and that he's a marshmallow on the inside. I wish they gave him more to do other than pep talks or being grumbly. Also I hope Dominic tones down the breathy growl in his voice a bit. It gets to be too much at times lol Jax is meh so far. He seems so whiny? It gets on my nerves at times. But I quite liked him in episode 4. The subject matter wasn't that great because I really don't like it when DCTV delves into heavy subject matters like racism and slavery etc. The way LoT handled it wasn't the worst, but this subject deserves more than what LoT gave it. The scene in the barn wasn't great at all and it was heavy handed. What makes it worse is that I don't think we'll see this affecting Jax or Amaya in future episodes. I'm really loving Amaya and how the writers make her do team ups with different characters every episode... Maisie kind of has chemistry with everyone. She's really growing on me as a character and I hope to see more of her.

I'm onto episode 3 of Legends. This is kind of a boring episode and I wasn't into the whole damseling of it all but I'm really enjoying the team as a whole and everyone is right when they say Legends does the best to try to incorporate every character and make them important to the plot/show. So far I'm really enjoying Nate/Ray/Stein the most, I wish Nate's hemophilia was explored more instead of cured straight off the bat... But then again the Arrowverse always sucked at exploring disabilities/illnesses etc. IDK what people think about Nate but so far his character has been properly exposed and I've been enjoying him. Ray's storyline within the episode was also great. It makes sense why he'd feel useless and like a nothing without his suit. It makes me annoyed at Sara even more for saying what she said to him in episode 1... But I do like that his journey this season is to find his 'inner hero'. This show is really making me like Ray and I can't stand it lmao I'm still waiting on the show to sell me on Amaya, I definitely haven't seen enough of her to make any judgement. Also I can't believe I have to wait another season to meet Zari :/ I'm most excited about her. Sara worked better in this episode and I can see why she's the leader, people listen to her and trust her. But because I don't care about stunts that much (although I must say her stunts were awesome in this episode), I just can't seem to really care about her? IDK I'm trying to like her but I don't... She seemed more 3 dimensional in Arrow than she does here which is a catch 22 because Caity can't handle the heavy acting that one needs to put into a 3 dimensional and nuanced character. But her character on LoT who is more 2 dimensional, really bores me. Also why does she always sound so tipsy while she's talking? Also Sara saying "league of assassins, class of '09" annoyed me a lot. Get a new line, writers -_- Especially one that makes sense because Sara was still in the LoA in 2009. I hope the show gives Mick more content, he can't just be the guy who says one-liners all the time. It seems as though future Barry is still the worst...

Onto 202 for LoT: One thing that stood out for me was that it made no sense how Amaya could be undercover at a Nazi party or undercover in Germany at all. Ray really won me over in this episode when he refused to "heil Hitler" even if it was undercover and Stein was so freaking sweet especially with being rather chuffed at being dubbed team leader and then singing undercover... It does make sense that he isn't the team leader though, he gets flustered too easily which is rather charming but I do wish they could've made him competent enough to be the captain. Nate had some great content in this episode. His link to the JSU and making him a Hemophiliac was an interesting move... It did make me curious how that will play into future episodes plus being a hero who is also a hemophiliac says a lot about said hero. It's admirable that Nate still wants to be on the waverider regardless of the risks. Sara was right to worry about him and be wary of having him on the ship. Sara was mostly ok in this episode, but the acting is still as awful as it was in season 2 of Arrow and that's what brought her down for me. For the first time ever I feel like an actress in DCTV can't give the writing for her character any justice because she was given decent content in this episode. Also Sara becoming team captain? Meh. I guess I didn't see the build up to this so I don't care. Speaking of bad acting... that final scene where Amaya is crying over Rex? oof, that was terrible. But overall I did like Amaya and can't wait to see what she brings to the team. Hi Mike Ross! Bye Mike Ross!

Beebo won me over and I watched 201 of LoT today... I can't stand Sara in this episode and she was probably the weakest link for me. She was reckless by sleeping with that woman in the beginning, arrogant, mean, and pouted way too much. When Sara told Ray that without his suit he's nothing but a self righteous rich guy... It was so harsh and asshole-ish that it made me feel sorry for Ray... which is quite an accomplishment. Not to mention Caity's acting is...... a lot to be desired? Her delivery of the line "I've been waiting a long time for this... to kill you" was awful. Her only saving grace was the stunts. The last scene with Ray helped but not by much... It was a lukewarm apology. I am really loving Mick and Stein. Mick is hilarious and I felt crushed for Stein when he saw that Albert Einstein was a gross man (wrt women)... I can also see why people like Ray so much on this show. He had some good moments especially with how he handled Sara. I'm meh about Jax so far and I felt bad about Rip sacrificing himself :( I quite liked him in this episode. Nate was great too! Oliver being in 201 really helped with my transition into this show. His small role was great and I loved how he pushed Nate into time traveling. Also I'd like to note how it's now strange for me to see Oliver without a wedding ring :') I really loved his line: "My name is Oliver Queen and my preference is to not break your arm" Eobard/Dahrk... Now THAT is a villain team up, not like the one on Arrow. All in all - I really enjoyed it! I'll definitely continue :)

If it's true then Those poor sharks. If Stephen's wife did try to jump on one she's an asshole and the rest of the groups are assholes too for not even trying to stop her. I don't care if they were drunk. -

If you ask any Olicity fan if this wedding is how they wanted it to go? They'd most definitely say no. But I don't think I saw anyone be angry about it for more than a couple of days at most and then accept it and move on. I mean some WA fans are still talking about the wedding which is really ridiculous if you ask me. Olicity barely even got vows and their portion of the wedding was like 20 seconds yet their fans were happy. But I suppose that's because Olicity fans understand that things could be worse and we have to accept the good when we get it even though it's not what we envisioned. It also helps that they got a reception which makes up for not having a rehearsal dinner or bachelor/ette parties, proper vows, proper wedding with a decent dress... I made a list before that WA actually got a lot more in terms of the wedding ordeal than Olicity... So Olicity fans not complaining about it ad nauseum actually makes me feel proud of my fandom. -

Being deep in the olicity fandom I actually saw very little of this. Before canadagraphs and Ken spoiled it sure people were worried that they'd have to share the wedding but when it was spoiled by lemon_buzz on Twitter most were just happy that Olicity were getting married at all, the happiness of olicity getting married far outweighed being upset that they had to share it. So idk where you were looking. -

I know, doesn't mean it shouldn't be subject to criticism, which is what I was doing. Again, why does this mean articles of this nature can't be criticized or discussed? -
The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
WindofChange replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
Which is why the article is dumb and kind of pointless... There is no comparison because both shows in essence are very different. Smallville's Oliver and Arrow's Oliver aren't the same but neither are necessarily better than the other because the circumstances that they've been put into are vastly different. -

Smallville wasn't built to be a non-powered superhero show, therefore they didn't focus on Chloe being watchtower even more but she was the eyes and ears of the team and did provide information when the team needed it. Even before Felicity was introduced Oliver/Diggle required tech to find whoever they wanted which is a much more realistic route for a non-powered superhero show. So I don't get why not having tech support is better in this case. Needing a lot of tech support is realistic. From analyzing blood to hacking organizations to creating tech to help team members both on and off the field. I suppose they aren't as powerful as Darkseid/Brainiac/Doomsday/Zod... But again, both shows are different. Smallville embraced the weird because Clark is from another planet, that doesn't work on Arrow. So while Oliver from Smallville did face stronger villains (even though he wasn't the one to take them down in the end) those villains never suited Arrow so it's not really a fair thing to say. If Arrow did write villains like that into the show it's pretty obvious Arrow's Oliver would've defeated them in some way shape or form -

15. Arrow's Oliver is just as good at archery, he just doesn't rely on it too much 11. Malcolm Merlyn/Slade were both incredibly powerful but ok... 10. Smallville's Oliver elected to reveal his identity, it was his preference 5. I'd argue Smallville's GA was probably more comic accurate because he was a supporting characters and not the main one 4. Smallville's GA didn't overstay his welcome, he was one of the more interesting side characters on the show 3. Why does not needing tech support means you're automatically better? He actually did have some support with Watchtower but they didn't focus on that 2. Smallville's GA was friends with BC, Arrow's GA screwed over multiple BCs and barely interacts with the current one so I'd say his relationship with BC on Arrow is actually worse 1. Arrow's Oliver tried to save the world in season 4 by stopping Damien Dahrk but ok... Star City still needs a lot of help so IDK why Oliver should focus on saving other places before he fixes his own city. -

I love this gifset so much... It shows just how much Oliver/Felicity mean to one another, how they'd always be there for each other, have each others backs, reassure one another, and believe in each other... felicity & oliver being each other’s ride or die http://fellicityqueen.tumblr.com/post/168840769663/felicity-oliver-being-each-others-ride-or-die- 6.5k replies

This is why I wasn't enjoying the fic too much until the latest chapter lmao the only reason why I stuck with this fic is because the writer is great... So imo the last chapter made it worth dredging through because I thought it was beautiful -

Well this did sorta happen in season 5 when she worked with Helix behind the team's backs. However, considering this is a season 2 AU, it is less likely Felicity from season 2 wouldn't trust her team to help her... Also to be fair, Felicity also wasn't being tortured by Helix like she was by Slade. -
I also don't think they'll do anything extra special for it because Arrow didn't get an extra special moment either. Basically there's no precedent set for the network to do something like this... If the crossovers this year didn't even utilize Flash as much as they utilized Supergirl/LoT characters, so it's hard to believe they'd go out of their way to sideline characters from the other shows next year to truly make it Flash centric. I could very well be wrong and they could bunk precedent... But until we know more I'm more comfortable basing my theories on what has happened in the past.

This actually makes me really angry... Felicity saving the city every single day and protecting Kara against Nazis is RUINED by her facing her insecurities and wanting to get married with her friends in an impromptu ceremony in a park next to some puke? That's the most dramatic and overblown piece of shit writing I've ever come to have the displeasure of reading. Way to blow this thing way out of proportion jfc. https://www.tvfanatic.com/slideshows/15-tv-characters-on-santas-naughty-list/ -
I don't even think Barry is mature enough to be a father and Iris hasn't really done much in her young life so to be saddled with being a mother... well... that's just not right for the writers to do this to her character. And while Oliver/Felicity are mature enough to have kids in maybe a year or so and I would like to see Olicity handle being 'new' parents, I still don't want the show to make Felicity pregnant until the last season... Although unlike Flash I do feel like Arrow would try harder with incorporating a pregnant Felicity into the plot and still manage to make her integral to the show outside her motherhood and connection to Oliver.
-
I would certainly hope Iris has more to do in the crossovers next year than to just wait for her supposed baby to arrive. I mean her being 8-9 months pregnant would severely incapacitate her for the entire crossover and likely would make it rather difficult for her to cross over. Also it'd be a shame for the Flash to marry off Iris and get her pregnant ASAP before she ever even tried to get her journalism career off the ground. I'd like Iris to have more agency than just being Barry's LI and the mother of Barry's children. Because her being pregnant during the course of the season will also limit what she's able to do on the team and in general which would also severely shorten her screentime. Idk why one would want to shortchange Iris like that... But if having a baby is the only storyline she can get then maybe there are other problems the show needs to address with respect to Iris' character and just how integral she is to the show.
