A bouquet of flowers: red roses, white roses, pink roses, blush roses. Every kind of rose you can find! Big ones small ones, roses with all sorts of petals! Tulips? Couldn’t find enough good ones this year. Peonies? Just didn’t match the caliber of the roses. Lilies? Just not the right style for our bouquet. Anyway, I kid I kid! I still love my DCC, weird flaws, racial oversights, strange sorority sister traditions and all. It’s “world class” entertainment that only very small group of the world know about - I guess that’s called exclusive? Cuz it’s definitely not inclusive!!

Some interesting things to note: All three TCC who made Showgroup are in Group 1. If they make 4-5 more cuts, I think they would need to be moved to the other groups There are six girls in Group 1 who made SG but only three in Group 4. Miranda and Alexis are both group leaders but didn’t make SG so they will be front and center of their quarterchanges and plaza performances but buried in the middle/back of the full Pyramid. No girls of color in Group 4 (Red hair doesn’t qualify as diversity, no matter how many times they try to pull that one over on us!)

I'm not defending VK by any means, but Maddie went from being cut her first time trying out to making the team AND show group her second time trying out. And becoming a first group leader by her 3rd year. Last year, Heather was "demoted" from being 2nd group leader, to NOT being a group leader. So while I feel for VK and Jalyn, it's also happened to others in the past. If you want to throw a fit about Kelli and Judy being unfair and not watching anymore, you should have stopped watching years ago! I'm genuinely excited about the upcoming season. I wanna know the behind the scenes commentary about why some decisions were made... regardless of whether it is spin or not. It's a TV show, and I watch it as entertainment!

Everyone seems outraged that VK is making the team this year. Have we considered she might also make Showgroup???

I know Kelli and Judy think Alexis is pretty but I know nothing about her personality or dance skills. She doesn’t pop to me and I barely remember her from the podcasts last season. I love Heather but I think their group seems the least exciting. Amy + Miranda: big sweet personalities and a dance coach Maddie + Lexie: good dancer and vibrant personality Tess + Gina: mature leader mixed with strong dancer Heather and Alexis: oatmeal.

And we need to know how VK is feeling when other girls are cut!!! 😂🤣😂🤪😫😩🧐

I think there's something very strategic happening with pairing Victoria with Brennan. Brennan was a rookie candidate with Victoria last year, and as others have mentioned, was potentially thrown under the bus by her - which resulted in Brennan being called into the office. Somethings fishy. Yes, she's definitely one of the oldest veterans, but I personally think it's odd to pair a rookie with someone they were in training camp with last year. There are so many other girls they could have paired Victoria up with: A no-nonsense mature group leader like Heather, Amy, Maddie, Tess, or one of the sweeter 3rd year candidates like Miranda, Lexie, Savannah... but BRENNAN?! Seems suspicious. So there has got to be some rationale for pairing them together. Kelli and Judy paired Kashara and Yuko together for swim calendar because they thought it would bring Yuko out of her shell. What could be the thought behind this? Maybe they are trying to pair Victoria with someone who has tried out 4 times before making the team... a bit of foreshadowing 😉

Is it suspicious or telling that Amy, Heather and Maddie are all missing from those media day videos?! I definitely see Lexie at point. And Caroline seems like a shoo-in for Showgroup this year.

I think they are filming screen promos for the stadium but it looks like Alexis and Lexie are the points / center dancers for these!

This is the literally the mission statement of the DCC. Group Leaders, Abbey Bear, Vet Moves in finals solo, pinky ring, rookie class group, placement in group photo, pink and blue, legacy and “comeback” girls, point, triangle position, showgroup, alumni “helpers” at auditions, the list goes on and on. It is a culture of rank and status.

Curious to see who will end finals - Maddie again? Or they got someone else to surprise us?!

Also did Lexie move her wedding because of auditions? If so, I can foresee this being a part of her narrative on the show. Pretty? Yes. Good dancer? Well she’s on showgroup. Willing to put the team before her own personal commitments? Point material! Maybe she’s the next Kashara 😉

Maybe Victoria Kalina saw the Tonya Harding movie and figured out her best strategy to make it on the team???

I think you can tell who Kelli and Judy’s favorites are by who walked in the DCC FIT fashion show tonight. And who got featured on the DCC swim calendar shoot / Instagram. I highly doubt Caroline, Daphne, Hannah, Jalyn or Taylor J will get cut unless something crazy happens during training camp. Those girls seem like a lock.

I’m guessing Miranda will be a 2nd group leader, based on how she was helping with the podcast and live Facebook videos last season. I think she’s a favorite? (Not my favorite, just an observation)

Well, I can't say I disagree with any of those things! But if they chose to put her on the team, they also open themselves up to another potential Jenna/Holly/Ericka situation. And that's their prerogative. But can't wait for the drama on Season 15-16-17 of Making the Team!!

Again, I'll be the opposing voice in the discussion but I think Victoria has a strong chance of making the team because she's insanely dedicated, and would be committed to staying 5 years (if she can keep the weight off). Those DMD's might be strong dancers and real showboats, but after dancing for 2-3 seasons on a professional NBA team, they might not drink the DCC Koolaid like the others and leave after 1 year (or less, like Alexandria did). And I don't mean that maliciously - I love all things DCC!!! But some girls won't put up with more than a year of that drink, whereas Victoria was born and raised on that brand of DCC Koolaid.

The Dallas Maverick Dancers seem to be getting a LOT of attention on the DCC Instagram! I don't know the DMD girls whatsoever but when you click on the comments, you can easily identify who the girls are because everyone keeps tagging them. A couple of pretty blondes, and an Asian girl are all former DMD. I wonder if they have a leg up on the competition because they are already powerful dancers and have "performance experience" (ie they know how to stand out and capture attention). Not sure about their kicks, mind you. Like I said - I would be nervous if I were a Blender Vet... again, I know everyone here loves Brennan, but I'm seeing a LOT of strong, powerful, blonde dancers, and having 9 DMD's audition for the team really gives Kelli an excuse to cut some of the weaker girls who aren't coming with their A+++ game. I can hear it now: "This was a tough competition year, and ultimately we are picking the strongest 36 and unfortunately some of our former Vets didn't come out with their best."

Nepotism?

7 spots 6 returning TC candidates 9 former Dallas Mavericks Dancers + a handful of talented TCU graduates + additional girls who have been prepping all year = smaller pool of girls but INCREDIBLY competitive. I am expecting some vets to be cut - this could be an incredibly competitive season.

Has there ever been a season where there were no girls for color as a group leader?!

Christina looks great in that video! Truly. And I’ve never thought she was a standout either. Im really excited for this year because I want to know who are going to be group leaders. My feeling is that a couple of them will surprise us - Lexie, Miranda and Lauren seem like obvious picks. But could Savannah, Christina or someone else surprise else? Maybe even a 2nd year vet?

Where did you see this video? Christina doesn’t bother me either, and I think she’s well liked by Kelli and Judy. Brennnan isn’t one of my favorites and (binge) watching season 13 over again, it really seemed like they would have cut her except that she was a known entity and the group leaders were all rooting for her. She’s not my fav in the looks department, has never really sparkles on the podcasts or when speaking and is not a dance stand out. I can’t say I’ve seen anything this season that has made me like her more so she’s one I could see cut - but I am scared to say that cuz I know she has lots of fans here!
