Yes, I was hopeful for them because they are beautiful and the squad is in need of some girls that are beautiful. I mean, they have Maddie with her cherubic round face up front right now, lol. But these two are making constant mistakes. I just wish they would cut them and take us out of our misery.

Lily seemed to shine more last season and not as much this one. I think a GL said similar and did not give her a sticker. I liked her based off of last season and just being aware of all the VK balony and not buying into it this season. Her facials need work and she dances a little like she talks, stilted. I think she had a fresher face last year, but she now knows the game and is (I assume) a little wary. So, I think they are giving alot of feedback so that if they cut her she can't say she had no opportunity to improve. Unfortunately I think that constant criticism is weighing on her. I can now see why she was on the bubble, so I could understand either way a cut or barely making the cut this year.

I think so, or they would have miced up say 5 of them. I didn't see Gina or Maddie's reaction to the first announcement.

Yes, this is why I think it was not a legitimate question. It was a prefab thing to make VK look good. I find it hard to believe she has improved so drastically from "no words" to this.

No, I wasn't but I believe it! I was out in 4, which considering the number of people there I think was good.

I am just glad Julia was crying and everything because of the wreck and worried she would be cut because she could not do practice (rather than being actually cut). She was nervous because they knew they were evaluating. And it will be tough for Julia because they covered a lot of formation field work and all the other girls will have an advantage over her when she can return to practice. I like Julia and they have not focused much on her but she is a good dancer. The media thing was not good.... all I can think was she forgot she was being screened as a DCC hopeful not as a media interview for broadcasting work. She also was very informal in her response style, which does not present well. I was surprised, but I am still pulling for her because she is a really good dancer. Kat and Meredith are media risks and can't dance as well.

Having 2 points just means they don't have faith in either one of them to lead the team. That bites. They should have picked a leader and moved on... even if they felt it was a weaker point than most years.

She is not great at interviews, very timid and does not hype it up. Kashara was great at color commentary.

Absolutely. And it didn't belong in a mock media interview anyways. I GUESS a media person might sarcastically make a comment about a player that does not play for your team as if they did, but doubtful.

I wonder if "cute" was code for "crazy FU decision" but probably not because Amy is so nice.

I had to go to the ER last night. It was very stressful and my husband is out-of-town. He stayed up to talk to me on the drive home and said "You are stressed honey and that can't help. I want you to go home, pour yourself a drink and rewatch DCC!" That was the best medicine!

Kat was on my list in addition to those. I think she is equally a mess but it was interesting to hear the group leads felt she could "fake it until she makes it". Kat did have really good field presence.... I don't know how well she danced but she looked great on the walk out. As far as Madeleine before Meredith, I agree it doesn't make sense. It seems Kelli LOVES Meredith and has been clearly very supportive of her. I can't imagine she can hang on until the end, but she bought herself another week.

I agree, it was really bad. It will be entertaining to watch Kelli to say "best rookie class ever" with a straight face when announcing the team after seeing these results! Who was the blonde vet second from end that dropped a leg?

I think they spent so much money on the Star that there is just going to be the tour or some focus on it every season. I was fine with it, not that TPTB asked. 🙂 Julia is one of my favs and that preview did not sound good. What the heck? I know editing can be deceiving... I hope so but eerrggh. Hate cliffhangers!

I get that she lacks power, but I think the rest is there so I would like to see her next year. Amy's pass on her didn't help. I also didn't care for her being cut before worse dancers like Meredith. Did anyone else notice Judy was encouraging her to come back but said she really would have to work hard? I think it was because Kelli did NOT speak up and encourage her to come back next year.

But wait, that would be logical and then they wouldn't have to make training camp so long!

For me the issue was it was on camera, and it was not one directional. I.e. if it was just the pastor speaking, camera focused on his message, without expectation of sharing I would have less issue with that.

She's a cancer survivor so she could wear anything she wants IMO, I love door lady!

Kelli was likely disappointed Shaina did not choose to speak as I expect she wanted to exploit all that drama. Why else would you do it in front of cameras? Not cool, it should be optional and off camera. Shaina handled it really well though, thanking Kelli for the sentiment, etc.

You are absolutely correct. They have always had these little formats where they "call back" a favorite former DCC for a cameo. Remember Jackie Bob at the doctor's office with a rookie who just got her nursing certification? I just think Danielle was sort of like...what now you are going to hug me? okay, I was trying to keep it more business and natural like, but okay. I agree it is unnecessary and DCC dancers can't act, but I like giving a shout out to Danielle...so hokey as heck but I give it a pass.

Oh LAWD, of COURSE they want us to associate Abigail Klein with VK. As if... that was more egregious than the lines we saw on the field.

Yes, Amy is a dance teacher and she even taught a DCC football player some moves and I loved the way she explained things and broke it down. I don't think she has a ton of power or sex appeal, so I think she would be a good group leader for most except the dancer that had all the steps but needed more "style" touches. In that case Gina would probably be great even if she wasn't the strongest teacher, because you watch what is modeled. But who knows how they put the groups together. Seems to me all the strugglers are in that group.

I liked the guest choreos and we saw more dance this ep. A guest choreo is only going to judge the dancing of the day. I don't think they can do a real DCC assessment because they don't care about facial beauty or interviews. The guest choreo is not a friend of the take-home-girl. I guess if it is used cumulatively as an overall impression of a dancer. I find it interesting for me as the viewer, but not certain of the effectiveness of the feedback as an evaluation tool. Only what, a third of these girls are showgroup?

IDK, I think the ARE veneers?! I think her teeth look similar to Cassie's, and I would not be suprised if they went to the same dentist. They are an unnatural horseshoe shape not fitted to the individual mouth to look natural IMO. It has always bothered me.
