  1. I wonder if there were more injured ladies those years, especially if All-Stars weren’t available to fill in. I’m pretty sure Cassie performed as little as possible during Season 7.
  2. I’m willing to bet that this particular segment was made-for-TV drama and there are other media training activities we don’t see. Another reason why this show has disappointed me more each year. The drama just isn’t for me.
  3. Third from right in the kickline...Gina? Whoever it is, she’s hunched over prominently. My eye went directly to her.
  4. Agreed. They already do media training though, as this episode showed us. The ladies should have already done their homework before the training so they can spend that time focused on being their best during media events. I’m sure Taylor knew about the training in advance, but showed up without looking at anything beyond her friends’ Instagrams. That was worthy of her release, as opposed to the ones that simply needed more polish on their answers (and didn’t get cut).
  5. Because the top ten news stories at the beginning of camp will be vastly different at the end of the season, or even the end of camp. I imagine their schedule during camp is chock-full of activities and practices, and they probably don’t want to take additional time to spoon-feed these ladies knowledge about current events that can be obtained on their own time. TPTB make it VERY clear from tryouts that knowledge of current events is expected. It’s up to the ladies not to get caught with their pants down.
  6. No worries! I think it’s smart business practice to focus on potential outcomes rather than “right or wrong.” Imagine the potential fallout from Taylor, as a DCC, not knowing about #metoo. Kelli was smart to avoid that.
  7. While I see your points, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Whitney’s actions risked alienating a good portion of their fan base, much like Taylor’s ignorance of the #metoo movement risked alienating women. If these women are to be held to a higher standard as Kelli insists, I would love to see consistency across the board.
  8. While I agree with this point today, this happened years before our current political climate (the “fake news” era) and Kelli mentioned being questioned about DCC being a racist organization on Bill O’Reilly’s show. It’s not endearing or wonderful to be ignorant regarding history. Kelli preaches this point ad nauseam to the cheerleaders.
  9. Unless you can successfully market your team as “the best in the industry” on a 13-years-running TV show. They have better, more beautiful dancers happily showing up every year to wear the “iconic” uniform under the same contractual terms.
  10. THIS was the point of my previous post. Why did Whitney get a pass on something that’s considered common knowledge when others are mocked and tossed to the side when they can’t answer Kelli’s questions? I guess “ambassador risk” doesn’t mean much if you’re a favorite (or your name is Victoria). I’m finishing up this season (only because we’re keeping DirecTV through the end of the year), but for future seasons, I’m out. This show has become something I hate.
  11. Kelli made excuses for Whitney (and kept her on the squad) because she was one of her favorites. She emphasized “a private Halloween party” in her explanation to the girls as well. While I agree that it was a different time with social media, Kelli would have never cut Whitney. And while I loved Whitney, she should have been sent packing for that stunt. Period. I would be willing to bet that if any other girl on that squad did something similar at a party NOT attended by other squad members, she would’ve been let go immediately.
  12. All I can say about this episode is this: if I were Madeline, as soon as Kelli cut me off about my boot struggles by swiping her hands across her throat and started lecturing me about “we have 6 more cuts to make,” I would’ve stood up, taken my boots off, threw them on the table right in front of her, and said “now you have five.” No team is worth that amount of groveling to snotty, self-important bitches. I’m officially done with this show. ✌️
  13. Neither am I. Save Maddie and Cianna, they all have the exact same hairstyle. How boring.
  14. But yet they willingly show up at auditions to chase their “lifelong dream” of being a part of this shitshow. It’s one of the biggest reasons I tune into the show - the ridiculousness of it all is soooo entertaining.
  15. I didn’t think it was possible for me to hate VK more, but here we are. She’s been allowed to act however she pleases in all aspects of her life, and it shows. No discipline. No respect. No professionalism. NONE. Hell, even K&J are scared to say anything to her and had to bring Denise in to be the bad guy. I was literally cringing during that whole office visit. The minute VK makes this team is the minute I’m done with DCC forever. I can’t handle her. Oh, and I HATED that contemporary choreo. Just no. Overall, a pretty basic and boring episode. Nothing wowed me.
  16. Dayton just seems SO young, and Kelli’s assessment of her is spot-on. She’s going to have to step up her game. Big time.
  17. VK sounds and acts JUST like her mother. Just UGH.
  18. The group photos, due to strategic placing of poms, made all of their waists look so tiny. And no surprise that Victoria strategically placed hers in front of her abdomen.
  19. Accents can most certainly disappear, diminish, or change over time. We’ve seen this on the show with Angela’s Australian accent fading, Yuko’s becoming less prominent with her better grasp of the English language, and even Colby having a British accent after living abroad for many years. Kashara’s was so heavy during introductions this year that I literally couldn’t understand what she was saying. It was not even that heavy in her first year, and it seems like she’s going overboard trying to hang on to it. She’s on her fourth year away from KY - I find it hard to believe that it not only hasn’t faded somewhat, but that it’s gotten heavier. Others may find it endearing, but it grates on me.
  20. The only picture that had anything that jumped out at me was Kashara’s, and that’s because her hair is perfection (the pose is trashy). Everything else is boring, and I place the blame fully on the photographers. These ladies are beautiful - I don’t believe for 2 seconds that THOSE are the best photos they can get of the ladies. Savannah’s is nothing short of cringe-worthy. Such a shame. Did they have any good weather days while in Bimini? It really doesn’t look like it.
  21. To each their own. I get the same thing in Seattle proper for $60 a month, albeit in a basic facility without a huge, shiny Cowboys emblem to greet me.
