  1. Thanks for the clarification - point taken. I probably should have been a bit more clear - going back to read, it looked as if I were attacking you. I really meant it as a blanket statement for the comment in general (as if saying "you" when you don't really mean the specific person). Most of the time, that comment is rendered as an insensitive remark to a woman showing some form of emotion (which obviously rubs me a little wrong!). Sorry to derail the topic for a hot minute with my PSA. Carry on. :)
  2. Not considering any of Lisa’s alleged personality characteristics that may be the cause for the blanket criticisms... I don’t see anything wrong with her body. Definitely not a traditional dancer’s body type, but not a reason to sling her through the mud for her muscular physique (which doesn’t come easy AT ALL).
  3. I’m hoping it doesn’t get renewed. I realize my own hypocrisy here of being invested in a show that is so disparaging to women, but it’s time for this show to die. Feel free to throw tomatoes at me. 😊
  4. My bold/emphasis- this comment drives me batty. Can girls and women just experience whatever emotion comes their way without this insensitive, default explanation? None of us know what Meagan was feeling that day, but it’s very telling of DCC culture that she was immediately labeled “rude” and assigned a friggen BOOK REPORT for having an off day.
  5. Ashley Paige was stunning and looked spectacular in the uniform, but that's unfortunately where her appeal ended for me. K&J always talk about not being able to watch a certain dancer, and Ashley was the one that my eye would turn away from. It totally could have been nerves on her part, but her dancing was really bad. Everything looked so forced. Season 3.
  6. Gag me. Do people actually fork over their hard-earned money for this drivel? I would say that I'm surprised to see Kelli whoring herself out like this, but not in the slightest.
  7. Agreed. Vivian's second time in training camp was cringe-worthy for reasons that had nothing to do with her physical appearance. She wasn't doing the jump split, she was laughing at her mistakes, and just all-around not a good candidate that year. Her hunger for attention had completely taken over, with that crazy poem being the grand finale.
  8. I truly don't understand Lauren's push for modesty when the NFL uniforms already don't leave much to the imagination. I know that some of the trendy suits expose all kinds of buttcheek (btw, can this trend PLEASE die?), but I'm sure they could honor a request to have a suit that would cover nearly as much as the uniform. Even with her rocking body, she couldn't make this suit look good. It's hideous.
  9. So happy that she has decided to use her platform to speak up regarding her experiences. She a beautiful person, inside and out.
  10. Great point regarding Karissa. I think they kept her in training camp longer than they would have with someone they weren't so fond of, but she just couldn't master the dances because she actually had a job and responsibilities outside of DCC. Nowadays, almost all candidates show up having so much time and money invested into them by their well-to-do parents that they can focus 110% on DCC. They sure aren't tasked with helping care for siblings while their single mother works. I'm so happy for Karissa with her new life outside of Texas and DCC. She was one of my favorite candidates.
  11. Didn't she get arrested for stalking an ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend? Or breaking into his house? I think I remember seeing that somewhere on this forum and my first thought was "I can totally see her doing that." She always had that crazy vibe going on.
  12. Jay - "You eat for performance, not because you have a hole in your face." Best nutritional advice ever. 🙂
  13. I vote for hiring everyone new, including K&J's positions. I understand that having experienced leadership can be an asset, but sometimes that experience can keep the team from moving forward and results in some very questionable decisions. Also, it makes them look desperate when they try to pick more WOC for the team when their past decisions are so visible. #burnitdown
  14. I only make it through the first minute of Marissa's video before I had to turn it off. My poor neurons were becoming fried.
  15. IMHO, Colby getting into training camp via the fan vote was the beginning of the end of that program. It really seemed like K&J were pissed that she was there. And while I'm sure Colby's a lovely person, she was truly too thin - so thin that it made her look way older than 31. When she tried on the uniform, it was really apparent.
  16. YES. Kelli and Judy bring in candidates all the time that they end up cutting over some body issue that was apparent in training camp and had no hope of being fixed. I'm sure it's an easy cut for them and the show, but those ladies (rightfully) feel like they have a real shot at making the squad. It's beyond rude. I always respected Meagan from Season 9(?), the former Tampa Bay cheerleader for not only saying that she couldn't change her body type, but never coming back for another round of torture. I thought it was so nasty that Kelli told the whole audience several times about Meagan's "thut."
  17. The Cassie/Ally/Taylor scene was 110% for reality TV. I believe that's why they kept Taylor for as long as they did. I liked her as a candidate in a reality TV sense, but her dancing was terrible and she acted like a spoiled teenager. There's no way they kept her around for anything other than the drama, which she consistently brought.
  18. Hilarious! Poor Judy will never graduate to a comfy chair.
  19. I was never a fan of Lauren Williams for the same reason. Every time she was featured on a talking head, she had that fake, scripted quality that was incredibly annoying. Not as bad as Ashley Paige, but still.
  20. Sneeze guard? More like protection from the inevitable tears/snotty noses of girls that are getting ready to have their dreams crushed.
  21. THIS is what bothers me about Kalyssa and the hundreds of thousands that have become involved in the Instagram Influencer world. I have no problem with the choices women make for themselves; I just raise an eyebrow about how "empowering" it really is. How do we teach young women that they are enough when even the most beautiful women feel the need to alter their appearances to such extremes? This is why I long for the early days of DCC where everyone still looked normal. The times when you could see some of yourself in them - no trip to the plastic surgeon needed.
  22. Brooke's transformation throughout her time on the squad was impressive. That's what frustrates me about the show today vs. its first years - we all know that a Brooke wouldn't even get a second look on today's show. If a girl doesn't come into tryouts being a step away from a model or professional dancer, she's toast.
  23. Oh, I know. I would love to know that woman's credentials (or lack thereof). I almost can't believe that such a "world-class" organization could only find that hack as a nutritionist.
