  1. I don't so much disapprove of Iris' decision to stay a virgin until she married, it is more than I question the choice to marry a stranger and potentially have that first time with someone who she doesn't know well. I would have felt differently had she been on The Bachelorette or similar show where she in theory had some choice in her match. The experts and producers have a spotty track record. They have made some good matches like Ashley and Anthony and matches that were always meant to be a trainwreck like Dave and Amber. Casting men like Dave or Jamie from the current season is always going to be a disaster because both men pick up on everything negative and are completely unwilling to work with anyone on anything. I think people like Iris focus on the successful couples and ignore the trainwrecks. While others think it might be worth the risk because they could be one of the success stories or at least get what the show has been truly successful at which despite what Pastor Cal said last season is making new friends at first sight.
  2. No , it is not solely my opinion since things that happened at the reunion and after the show confirm Jasmine was given a bad edit. Luke got a better edit that he deserved from the show considering his abusive behavior was never called out for what it was by the show or network itself. We know he did not get a bad edit as evidenced by the way the rest of the cast has reacted to him. Luke is among the few people that have appeared on the show where people who have met him are making it clear that something is wrong. Kevin Frazier made it clear that Luke was a dishonest person. Frazier is about as close to an objective party as there is going to be on Luke's character since Frazier has nothing to gain/lose from saying anything on the topic.
  3. But that is all your opinion that she is demanding, bitchy, and uncompromising. Studying body language of limited scenes where there was frequently disagreement is hardly reflective of how a person is everyday. And since she has since talked about how she has two jobs, the one we knew about form the show and adjunct professor, this pampered and paid for thing also doesn't seem to be based on facts. We never would have seen anything about her being warm because that is not what the producers wanted to show us. They frame the story. And people decide whether to believe it or not. Those same producers have a history of crafting both very misleading and flat out untrue storylines.
  4. Except MAFS made sure to get every money comment made from a several week period edited into Jasmine's roughly hour or so combined. Making it seem like that was all she ever talked about. So that is manipulation by the show especially when at least some of those conversations were prompted by production. No one talks about money as much as they wanted to make it seem Jasmine did. The show never brought up David's past history of getting arrested for domestic violence at all, they even cast him in a spinoff. So not only did David never get any of that information aired or have to talk about it at all, many people are unaware of it because it never was brought up on air. With Mia the information about her arrest was part of her storyline. Also Mia got off easy with the exerts because Dr. Jessica had no interest in humping Tristan. The beat down with Molly was more about Dr. Jessica being massively unprofessional and wanting Jon for herself. Misogynoir is a problem at MAFS. Just because you can personally see past it, doesn't mean the show hasn't been guilty of trying to frame a situation a certain way.
  5. In theory the show could do rush alterations for each bride. They probably just don't see the point in paying for the additional expense. The show doesn't even have the brides bustle the gowns, I would speculate because during the weddings and receptions the focus is more on getting a scene and if they need to refilm something, they don't want to waste time to deal with the dress. Especially if losing daylight is a potential problem.
  6. He and the side chick deserved each other since her knowing all about what he was doing makes her a bad person too. I would not be cool with my boyfriend going on a reality show and pretending to romance another woman. Not only because it would be weird to know that he was off doing that but I would not want to be complicit in someone else being duped.
  7. Based on her reaction to Keith having condoms in the review, I'm guessing Iris has ideas that are not supported by evidence based medicine. And if she is anti-contraception, then Keith needs to know that from the beginning. Even if he likes Iris, he may not be on board for becoming a parent right now.
  8. It doesn't bother me that Iris is still a virgin at 27. It does bother me that she feels that being married to have sex is more important than having sex with someone she has some genuine feelings for. In my view that just seems to cheapen why she waited. A marriage license doesn't magically protect your heart or your body.
  9. I'm guessing that was production's attempt at foreshadowing.
  10. But Jepthe would also later admit to cheating on Shawniece in the spinoff, so I'm not sure I would judge his behavior as being better. Although Amber's school could try to either reprimand or fire her.
  11. I don't know if Deonna is going to be that much behind the others. Most of the previous cast members have struggled with even temporarily combining their life with someone they don't know. Sam from season 3 was easily one of the worst about it. The opposite could be true too. Many people grew up having to share bedrooms with a sibling, a bathroom with other members of the family, and have had bad experiences with roommates over a shared bathroom, etc. Almost everyone I knew growing up who had to share a bedroom with their sibling usually wants their kids to be able to have their own rooms. Most of the arguments I had with my sister when we were kids was over the space in the room we shared. Some of it is people trying to avoid those same arguments.
  12. Maybe the sisters don't want to be on camera. If one of my sisters went on this show, I would probably not want to be on camera either. I can see a lot of people being wary of appearing on one of these shows even as a friend or relative of the main cast.
  13. Probably either a member of the crew or a random person who agreed to be filmed
  14. So far things have worked out for AJ and Stephanie though. So if Elizabeth is this season's AJ it might mean she has more awareness than the show wants us to think.
  15. The more I think about it I think Elizabeth's father has deliberately sabotaged her personal relationships. His wedding speech was more of a roast. It was completely inappropriate and was clearly designed to give Jamie doubts. Daddy doesn't want any man in his daughter's life but him. She needs to break away and move to another state so she can get out from under that stifling parental relationship. It is not healthy for her and she is the one who will suffer in the long run.
  16. I hope there is more to the story than Matt just didn't like that his parents divorced. Otherwise he is just an immature ass.
  17. Dr. Viviana asked if Elizabeth just called her a bitch.
  18. It is really gross that they have someone other than Iris tell Keith that she is a virgin.
  19. Every season the attendants and friends grill the couple about whether they will have sex on the wedding night.
  20. I have a feeling that Elizabeth's father has encouraged this sort of "helplessness" by always doing everything for her.
  21. Iris' dad probably made her sign a purity pledge and go through one of those ceremonies. Ick
  22. Just like last season, they used the same venue on different days.
  23. The dress should have had more support built in. But the dresses they get are likely from the sale rack or a return from someone else and the fittings are rushed.
  24. I wonder how many of the scenes in the preview will actually be in the same context if they air. The season preview last season had at least two scenes that did not air.
  25. I feel like the height difference is potentially not much of a problem, if Amber and Matt really get along and are attracted to each other. Iris being a virgin is a much bigger issue because she puts so much value on being one. If she was someone who was just socially awkward and had spent a ton of time in various programs like Bachelors, Masters, then Doctorate programs one right after the other and just didn't spend a lot of time focusing on her love life, it might be different but that is not the case here. I'm hoping we are not going to get another Dave and Amber from Dallas with Elizabeth and Jamie. Elizabeth seems feistier than Amber so hopefully she will turn any pickiness for Jamie around on him. The show picks obvious disaster matches. But I think some of the biggest trainwrecks were ones they did not plan for. I don't think Sonia and Nick for example were meant to be a trainwreck.
