  1. He was likely recruited from a dating app. He could have agreed to promote himself. But if he did, the joke is on him, no one is getting famous from this show. Even Jamie with the long extensions knows she is unlikely to get a gig that is not connected to the show in some way.
  2. Iris said she had hot sauce in her bag. It is part of black culture, particularly in the South.
  3. Elizabeth is not claiming to be 27, they said she was 30. Which looks closer to when she isn't wearing the heavy makeup. Elizabeth and Jamie lack muscle tone. That happens when a person has never been overweight and as a result doesn't workout. I don't think Deonna is cold at all. She seems like she is having a good time but the show has to stick to the storyline they decided for her. It is so weird to see Deonna criticized for being cold and then Amber criticized for being into her husband. Like I said in another post, then women can never win because whatever they do is somehow wrong.
  4. I don't think she is being snippy. I think the show is making her look that way. There is a clearly a disconnect somewhere since they make her look super negative when she is with Greg but n her talking heads she seems excited about how things o the honeymoon.
  5. I think Deonna has a point on the compliments. Someone who doesn't know you giving a ton of compliments can come across as insincere. It seemed more like she wants them when she knows the intent behind them is genuine versus an empty statement that someone feels they have to say.
  6. They probably do check and cast someone with offensive posts because they are hoping for drama. The Bachelorette cast a guy with a history of racist tweets for Rachel Lindsay's season. https://jezebel.com/racist-tweets-from-current-bachelorette-contestant-have-1795703434
  7. Luke deserved the criticism considering he was actively abusing someone. And even though he was doing that, people attacked Kate a lot for what was going on. Some of the criticism of the women has just been ridiculous. People deciding that Jasmine was a bitch based on a obviously biased edit was the perfect example of that. The criticism of Ashley in season 3 that she wasn't nice enough to the creep they matched her with. The criticism of Heather for getting out early because Derek was awful towards her and while a lot people have since reversed their opinion on that situation it doesn't change how people treated Heather at the time. And I see it now with Deonna. And I think Deonna is getting a bad edit this season, conversations are being so poorly edited that it is obvious that things are being left out that might give a more balanced view on her as a person. Aside for the obvious outliers like Luke, the men have escaped a lot of the heavy criticism during their season. I'm among the few who will consistently call out the behavior of both, although I will acknowledge that I probably call out the men more because I see the criticism towards the men lacking.
  8. If they went on this show hoping for a boost, then they are foolish. Few people from reality shows break into the industry and fewer still achieve true success. It is not going to happen for someone from MAFS. We can say that about anyone on the show. I wonder why Greg is there. One would think that he would have had a lot of people from his church trying to date him or fix him up with someone they know.
  9. Possibly. Or it could be something like engaging in dry humping.
  10. I have been for several seasons and so far the women get way more criticism.
  11. The producers are doubling down on the assigned characters this season. Iris is going to be prompted to talk about virginity constantly and Deonna is going to be asked about not dating for 10 years constantly. And that is all we will hear from these two regardless of anything else they do or say the whole season. It is a shame because they could both actually be interesting people and it is unlikely to show on tv. Kristine from last season is one of the few who got to flip the script of whatever they had planned for her. But I suspect that happened in part because two couples were a fail and they had already decided to make AJ look crazy because he openly disagreed with them, so they basically had to cut Kristine slack in the final edit.
  12. If they didn't cast people with issues, there wouldn't be a show. Also it is unclear whether Deonna dated or hooked up with anyone in that 10 years. There is a difference between not having a relationship and not dating. I feel bad for her because on top of getting a crappy edit, she is getting attacked right and left for a situation that is hardly unique or bad. A lot of people don't have a relationship for a significant length of time and go on to have a healthy relationship.
  13. He apparently tweets a lot of hateful stuff about women. Heather was smart to get out early even though she got so much heat about it at the time.
  14. imagine what their edit would have done to Kate if she had left the way people wanted her to. We never would have known about the "repulsed and dead inside" comment Luke made.
  15. The women on this show can never win. If they are vocal about being into their husband like Amber, then they are called thirsty. If they are more reserved like Deonna then they are cold. If they are unsure about how their husband treats them like Dallas Amber, then they are insecure. If they are confident in who they are like Jasmine, then they are criticized for being spoiled and thinking well of themselves.
  16. Even if her walls come down, it will never air. She could be sweet as pie to Greg the majority of the time but anything that can be spun to be remotely negative is what will air. The misogynoir on this show is just so blatant.
  17. Deonna is getting a raw deal. I have a feeling that she has dry humor and it is not playing as well on screen as it does in person. The show already decided they were going to make her look uptight and they are going to stick with it all season no matter what.
  18. He should have thought about that before signing on to the show. I get it, I'm more of an introvert but I also would never go on a reality show. Honestly I think he is drained in part because the whole thing with his family makes him look like an immature brat so far. If he feels drained by the process that is on him not Amber.
  19. Some probably do. From what I've observed from married friends, women feel less inclined to dress sexy when they feel their husband isn't putting in the effort with the household upkeep and parenting. And that is fair, someone isn't going to want to dress or feel sexy when they are worn out from everything else and don't feel they have support from their spouse.
  20. The whole virgin secret thing was so stupid. The producers had Keith's mother tell him beforehand anyway. Then the producers have Iris ask that secret question while they are laying in bed. It was so poorly done. Production isn't even trying anymore.
  21. I dislike Elizabeth's dad so much. He has done her such a disservice by encouraging her to be dependent on him.
  22. I really wasn't referring to anything related to Amber. Dave is a guy with both a checklist and a list of excuses. IMO he was someone who wanted to get married because his bros were either married or in LTRs and he was feeling left out. The end result what that he was someone who was going to zero in on anything and turn it into a the biggest problem in the world. A lot of those qualities seem present in Jamie in the Charlotte season. He made reference to wanting to be married because of his age. Again it is getting married due to perceived expectations from society rather than a true desire to be married.
  23. I never watch those shows but it felt like the best example. MAFS is the only relationship reality show I watch and for some reason I keep watching even when it some seasons have been terrible.
