  1. Yes, Peter wants to be on her surgical team. She invites Carter to get involved on some cases too and then takes a liking to him. Carter is a lot better with the patients than Peter is.
  2. I loved Shep. Even angry, out of control Shep. Such a cutie. (Except for the weird facial hair he has in one episode; he must've been growing it for another role.)
  3. Speaking of spot the guest actor, I realized Loretta's (Mark's patient who was a prostitute then got cervical cancer) son was played by Jake Lloyd, who went on to play young Anakin Skywalker in the first Star Wars prequel. He's probably wishing he quit acting after his ER stint, since I've heard he developed serious problems after all the attention and criticism he faced doing Star Wars. I am constantly checking IMDB while I watch these old ER episodes. So many familiar faces.
  4. The biggest mistake I remember her making was not a medical one, but it was when she left her pager in the bathroom and Chen and Malucci couldn't get a hold of her. The patient went bad and it caused a big thing.
  5. I've been sick the past few days so I binge watched a few eps I had on the DVR. Random thoughts: As someone above noted, I too temporarily forgot all about Shep. He was a cutie. I remember that actor popping up in a lot of stuff in the 90s. I'm always really moved by Lucy Liu's performance as the mother of the little 4 year old with AIDS. Such a cute little boy, too. I liked Harper. Can't remember why she left but I guess we'll get to that. It's funny how many characters show up that I had forgotten about, until I see them, then they come rushing back. Shep, Randi, the hippie nurse trainee. In the episode where Wendy is doing interviews about Mark for a newsletter, it's really cute how Haleah says when she met Mark he had beautiful blond hair. Definitely a nod to Anthony Edwards in real life. Remember his surfer hair in Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Heehee.
  6. Does anyone else ever notice a slight audio sync problem on Pop? It's not every episode but I've noticed it a few times. It also happens on Beverly Hills 90210. Not sure if it's a local problem or what.
  7. Yeah, the warmest Abby ever was was when she first appeared as Carol's OB nurse. I would've liked to see more of that Abby. I think MT is a great actress but the character was just so miserable most of the time. I am glad they allowed her and Luka to have a happy ending. I'm surprised they didn't kill him off so another big tragedy could befall her!
  8. Yeah, CCH Pounder has the coolest voice. Man, I'm gonna have trouble keeping up with three episodes a day. My kids are on spring break and I haven't watched any this week. The DVR is piling up! Re: Chloe. I remember when the actress appeared on Gilmore Girls later a lot of people thought she was annoying but compared to Chloe her character on that was positively sedate. Lol. I guess it meant she was doing her job well since Chloe was supposed to be pretty grating, I guess. Made me empathize with what Susan had to deal with.
  9. Yes! I wonder if Paul McCrane wanted off the show so they just took him out. (In a spectacularly dumb way!) But it was such a waste because Romano was a great, great character. I know the actor who played Pratt asked to be killed off. It provided some heartbreaking drama but in the grand scheme of the show it was just too much to lose yet another doctor. Dangerous place to work!
  10. I watched it to the end too. There was a lot I didn't like (the over the top catastrophes like the tank) and all the people dying! Not patients, doctors! They really shouldn't have killed Pratt or dropped the helicopter on Romano. Unnecessary. However although the overall quality wasn't as good in the later years there were still some nice performances and storylines tucked in there. Morris started out as an idiot but really grew into a great character by the end. Angela Bassett was good too. The finale was well done and I loved how they put in a lot of callbacks to the pilot.
  11. I always liked the peripheral characters too, and it's funny how attached I would get to them, even though they never delved into their stories much. I remember Malik wasn't on the show for a long time in the later years, but then in one episode he popped up and I think I actually yelled "MALIK!!" at the tv. Lol. Testament to a good show, that you care about even minor characters.
  12. I suspect it was a storyline they originally planned to follow up on later, but then for some reason decided to drop it. I guess it was a one night stand. Him talking about it was probably to show us his regrets about not settling down. In the same episode (or close to it) he envied the marriage of the older carbon monoxide patients, and also expresses some dissatisfaction with the set up he's got going with Linda the drug rep lady. And of course Carol gets engaged so he is feeling all kinds of regrets at that point. On another note, I forgot how young Ming-Na looked when she first came on as Deb. Just a baby!
  13. Re: the Rose parade. While the statistic they give is ridiculous, that parade is pretty cool and I watch it every year. All the floats have to be covered with flowers and plants and it's neat to see what they come up with. If Joe really wanted to give her a bird why not start with a parakeet or something and not one that might outlive Donna?! Pets usually don't have a good follow through on this show. Kelly's dog from early season 1 was never to be seen again, Donna's bird gets donated, Kelly's goldfish were murdered, Rocky died of cancer, Rocky 2...wait, what happened with Rocky 2? Any more I'm forgetting? Oh yeah, Trouble the cat got stuffed into a carrier and had to ride on the back of Dylan's motorcycle for who knows how long.
  14. In the episode where the kid confessed to Carol he was driving his friend's car that killed a girl and his friend, I had to look the kid up because he looked so familiar. It was Tom Hanks' friend Billy from Big. (And also the neighbor kid in Honey I Shrunk the Kids.) But what's funny about that is when the Scotty Anspagh storyline comes up later I thought THAT kid looked so much like Billy from Big, but I knew the math didn't add up since he would've been a bit older by then. But turns out he was on the show, just in a different role. I wonder if he is related to the kid who played Scotty. I like picking out the random guest stars who show up in the ER.
  15. The random extras at the Christmas party are hilarious. What in the world?? I can understand having a bunch of unknowns for a normal party, like the one in high school, because you just figure they are schoolmates who showed up. But this is clearly a smallish get together to exchange gifts/ ornaments and we've never seen these people EVER. And the fact they are not explained or acknowledged by the gang is just so weird and distracting.
  16. So I was watching the Pop episode yesterday and it was the one where the girl shoplifts and hides it at Brenda's house. I noticed in one of the shopping scenes there is another girl with them with just a few lines, and I realized it was Jennifer Blanc, who was in the tv movie "Friends Till the End", where she is the crazy girl who tries to take over Shannen Doherty's life. Ha!
  17. Oh that was the worst. I had almost blocked that out. If i remember correctly she also looked like a slutty clown because she had one of her typical midriff bearing outfits on underneath. (Hey, I had a few midriff bearing shirts when I was young too, but there's a time and place, Donna!)
  18. I'm so glad they are showing this again! I remember a lot of it but of course there are lots of moments I've forgotten. A poster above mentioned immediately remembering Doug's "He's a little kid!" scene. Me too, and I think it's because, if I remember correctly, that scene was in the ads when they were first promoting the show. Burned in my brain! I'm a huge Doug and Carol fan and I swoon just hearing their brief piano theme music. I remember when they came back in the final season they played that music and it made my day. I had forgotten how much I hated Dr. Cason. Such a jerk. I always liked Sherry Stringfield; I wish she was in more stuff.
  19. I do like that Donna was a nice character in general and that she always tried to help people. But they just pushed it too much and too far. It's not enough to save the baby deer; the firefighter then also has to fall in love with her. It's not enough to help her Rose Queen friend by working at the convenience store (and really, who does that anyway?) But she also has to simultaneously rescue some latchkey kids. She can't just have one stalker, she's got to have two. They really needed to dial it back. Oh! And I had forgotten until I watched the Brandon/Kelly wedding episode last week that even the caterer at the wedding falls in love with her! It was seriously too much.
  20. Something else I noted watching the pilot: Brandon meets Steve at school, who takes him to Mary Ann's party. Brandon does not find out who Kelly is until he sees her at Mary Ann's party. And vice versa; Kelly sees Brenda wave to Brandon and says "who's that?" Donna is standing right there with them. Which clearly contradicts the scene in season 9 when Brandon reminisces about first meeting the gang. He says he tripped and Donna helped him up and introduced him to everyone. How hard would it have been for the writers to go back and watch the damn pilot and get their facts straight? Sheesh.
  21. I was blown away when I found out drug dealer and cousin Bobby was the same guy. I read it on the old forum; I never would've known otherwise! As to why Pop didn't finish out the last seasons....I noticed they were advertising that Dawson's Creek was going to start at the beginning this week and they premiered the ER pilot yesterday as well, so maybe they just wanted to start over with all the shows and have a day of pilots?
  22. If you have Pop channel, they started back at the beginning today with the pilot. It's always funny to revisit the little details. Brando's mullet, different Walsh house, different Kelly's mom. No Dylan yet. It's funny how many lines the teachers and principal got too, considering in later years it was mostly just Mrs. Teasley and Gil. And Mary Ann, the most popular girl in school.....who we never saw again!
  23. It's entirely possible he was edited out. Most of the background music has been replaced due to rights issues. (Though not all; I heard a Dave Matthews song in an episode on Pop the other day.) I think the live PPAD performances were hit or miss; some were kept and others not. Even a few of Ray's songs were cut out in some of his episodes.
  24. David's outfit looks like the huge suit David Byrne from Talking Heads used to wear.
  25. I they were both drop dead gorgeous. Gina/Vanessa had more of a model look, whereas Val/TAT had more of a voluptuous beauty.
