I agree with what everyone is saying. I like maddie, but she's not point material, yet she will be point this year. If they wanted the best dancer then Gina should be it. If they wanted to go for the "girl next door" and powerful dancer that they used to go for, about half the incoming 3rd years could be point. It is a shame that this seems to have come down to a length of service thing. Length of service should be thought about for group leaders, but for point I think they should just pick the best person from the 3rd years+. I think after that time they've proved they have the consistency to be point.

I think the problem is they treat VK like a 5th year vet. She falls out a turn during the finals, "we'll give her the benefit of the doubt", she gains weight, "we'll allow her the time to lose it", she says something stupid, "oh that's funny, she doesn't know that". To Kelly maybe it is like a 5 year vet, more like a 17 year vet, she's seen her dance since she was a child. Only that's not the case. She hasn't seen her dance in pom, in a team, on a football field, all that time. She is a rookie, brand new to this, not even being on a college team. She should be treated like any other rookie, her making a mistake in thunderstruck = bye she's gone, for a rookie. Making a mistake on thunderstruck for a 5 year vet = it's just a mistake, she's proven herself. This isn't necessarily Victoria's fault, but it is Kelly's and the rest of the staff. Rewatching season 13. I have never rewatched it due to my annoyance at VK stuff, but I forgot how amazing the 2018 rookies were. They are definitely my favourite group of recent times. And jinelles office visit made me tear up a little. I know she was basically on the squad that final year, but hearing Kelly and Judy tell her how great she was is just lovely.

Saturday night self isolation musings: have any of the cheerleaders in recent times not been Christian? I suppose there have been some who are atheist but go ahead with the religious things like saying the lord's prayer before games, but have any of them been Jewish, or another religion? Lots of people, in the UK at least, are raised atheist, so I find all the religion stuff quite odd for a sports team.

I also felt she would make a good "story" for the show, so I'm surprised she was never featured at all

I hope she does well as with Bridget leaving a need a new person to root for! I'm still salty that Cassidy (ex-dcrb) never made it to training camp

On the topic of those videos. I saw that there is a 40 odd minute one showing all uniform fittings. Why would they chose that for one of their first long videos?! It's basically a pervs paradise.

My main problem is that they try and sell the DCC as an amazing dance team, anyone remember Kelli saying that their kicks are more impressive than the Rockettes? (Well I'm paraphrasing, she commented that Rockettes only have to kick to eye level). They can't claim it's an amazing dance thing when they let go of great dancers because they don't think they're pretty enough, or equally, let in mediocre dancers, including those that have only danced for a year, just because they're pretty. In Kelli's yes/no/maybe two of the categories are to do with looks and one to do with dance. If they embraced that this was an entertainment group, where one of the top aims is to be good eye candy to the fans, then I don't think we would care so much. However as long as they get rid of good dancers who they don't like for one reason or another, to keep on girls who aren't very good just because they are pretty or have connections, we will complain about things. Sorry for my very long rant, this is what drinking and forum reading does (don't worry I'm in the UK, it's evening here!)

I 100% agree with the Neil thing. I really hate him as a judge. He brings nothing to the table other than saying a girl is hot. It's so creepy.

I'm watching season 2 now. I know I made a similar comment about a later season a while ago but what is up with the body fat percentage? They use the bodpod in this episode to measure their body fat percentage, they seem to expect women to have a body fat percentage of less that 11%. I'm calling bull on this, I don't know if they are converting to a make equivalent, which would be lower. However if you look at examples of body fat percentage I would guess they have about 15-18%.

Looking at her videos she's really sharp and precise, and has a lovely style. It may just be the couple of videos I saw, but to me it looks like she needs to get down in to her plies a little more. Sorry, double post. I love that they got Phil to "open" auditions in Instagram, even if he wasn't his normal self as he was reading a script.

I'm watching season 12 on Pluto. I find it quite weird that the story is that there is so much pressure on Dayton as her mum was a DCC, not that her mum works for DCC. Surely working there is a lot more pressure than if your a legacy. There have been quite a few legacies, but Dayton was the second daughter of a member of staff.

I'm watching season 9, episode 4 is basically a weight related nightmare. It contains the wonderful lines of "thut" and "long American thigh". Also there must have been something else going on that they hated Hannah, she was show group her rookie year, then got cut for weight out of no where second year whereas all the other vets got "my fit foods", she wasn't even the vet who had gained the most weight.

Rewatching some old series, general questions: who was there for the not years? Was this Sydney with 7? Also who is the most senior vet to get cut? I remember jasmine being cut after her 3rd year.

I went on her Instagram to see what the comments were, no one is calling out the obvious Photoshop. It's like a 14 year old trying facetune for the first time. It's mainly the eyes, but also the waist, you can see she's pulled it in making the sleeve look weird.

Looking at the dolls, I don't think they are special ones, just normal dolls that were bought then someone made the outfits for them. They're really cute, but the outfits look very DIY.

Like lots of other people I've watched cheer, and I just wanted a little vent here, so don't mind me! I looked up whether they won before finishing the program, and I found the results. They make it seem on the show (I haven't finished so maybe not the whole time) that winning best junior college is a big deal. But there are only 2 teams that ever enter, them and the one down the road. There is no denying that the cheerleaders are talented, but I don't like shows that build things up to things they're not.

I was looking at this earlier. Is it just me or does rookie Taylor (I think that's who it is towards the middle of the shot in the back) look a little off at times. I'm not too sure what it is.

Finally getting round to watching season 2 on Pluto. I'm in the UK so the time difference always means 1 and 2 have been on overnight. It's weird to see Melissa as a DCC, everything I hear her voice I think she's going to be giving some phoney advice. Off topic but it's so weird watching USA TV. There's adverts for medicine, so odd for me. Edited to add: they do a body fat percentage in this. They all have super low body fat. Like the bottom end of essential fat. When someone had fat in the athlete zone they acted like she was huge. This is seriously unhealthy. I'm kind of assuming the method they used wasn't great, else none of these women are having their periods.

I've been quietly sulking in the corner about Cassidy since the weekend. I don't know if she is too hip hop maybe for them? Honestly don't know.
