  1. I like fruit in general (haven't had them all), but of the fruits I've tasted, plums, prunes, dates and figs do not make the cut. I will however, enjoy a Newton from time to time.

  2. Yea, absolutely nothing about the Brett/Madison story adds up. Nothing.

And once again, there is a kid being dragged through it all by parent/s, who are singularly motivated by dollars, maybe fame. (His dad can't b Mr. Wonderful, or  he wouldn't allow his son's involvement, no matter how minimal.) Sickening.

    Bravo is 😈.

Horrible 3rd down defensive call cost them the game.  They had it win

Having 10 players on the field for the final two plays may have played a role in the loss. 😏🤦‍♀️

Are we sure “Ultimate Hoops” isn’t just a fantasy basketball league?! This doesn’t make any sense because there’s no indication that he’s ever been a professional basketball player. If he were, Madison would be leading with that. And no one’s getting $12M to play in a local Sacramento league. I don’t know anything about sports, but I bet there are plenty of guys in the NBA who aren’t making $12M. Not everyone is LeBron.

The YouTube link shows it as an on-site game, but yes, that $12m figure I'm sure is some sort of valuation of him, similar to a fantasy league. I edited my post to fill in missing info after you quoted apparently.

  5. Doing some digging. I don't know if or how this Ultimate Hoops could be monetized, but he seems to have been involved in it. (I'm thinking it's recreational only)

    uhlife.com/profile

This👇 "celeb" site says his LinkedIn lists him as a Nike rep, which could account for some wealth, if he had stock options etc. That LinkedIn profile no longer exists, so he's working at being under the radar wrt his personal background. Interestingly, I found not even a hint about being a firefighter, whether hands-on or some sort of admin position, as she stated on WWHL last week. She said he "moved inside" or something to that effect, as it was less dangerous, now that he has a wife a family. 😏

  6. Couldn't find WWHL thread, stopped caring after Pg. 1, but wanted to mention that I thought Craig looked noticably less puffy and alcoholic-like in his recent WWHL appearance. The hair however, is weird and has.to.go. Also, the suit (yes, that abhorrent thing has matching pants) needs to be burned.

On the subject of checks - I write one or two a year...maybe. I stopped ordering checks years ago, and instead got a software program that writes them, and I print them on blank check stock.

My bank gives me a dozen or so counter checks that they print for me, when I need a stash, which is rare. I write 3 or 4 yearly, maybe.

@SuprSuprElevated I was thinking slightly in a different direction. Why not become a kitty sitter. Most people just want someone to feed their cat once a day and spend a bit of time petting them so they don’t become too lonely. I actually have someone coming to stay in my house next trip I have planned as they will be old (they turn 20 next month) and will need some meds. You can pick or decline whatever you feel comfortable with.

That's a really good idea, depending on where DH's illness progression is. Don't like to leave him for too long, mostly because of his anxiety, but also my own.

So, I just read something that stated, "If allegations are proven true, then Alan Williams will never coach in the NFL or for the team for the rest of his life."  Well, I guess I'll assume that's the least of the guy's problems.

Chicago has other issues to begin with in the game, but...

Please to share the allegation, or pm the link please.

@SuprSuprElevated you have to do what’s best for you. Maybe you could volunteer at a shelter or foster in your retirement after Pearl is gone. My Mom lamented about more pets for her in retirement, but she loves coming to my house (just upstairs) and loving on Cosmo and the cats, yet I do all the work!(best arrangement for  her at 75)

Not sure about fostering as I'm sure I would be a foster fail lol, but I've considered checking into being a petter/player with-er at local rescue/shelter. We'll see what comes. I don't expect to have Pearl by this time next year. Hope I'm wrong.

    tripped over Quirk,

Such a common thing, and a cause of many injuries. It's one of myriad reasons I feel fairly sure that my Pearl will be my last pet. 😭

Of the varied and numerous gifts my mom bestowed upon me, monumental klutzdom and crappy balance are among them.

I'm only 63, but a kitten would be a little scary in ^that regard, and as much as I would love to rescue an older pet, I frankly am sort of over the illnesses and problems that go along with that, to say nothing of the expense and now, availability of veterinary care. Being a caregiver for 3 humans and 2 kits over the past decade, has taken a big toll on me. There are other ways I can stay involved I hope.

Makes me ill thinking about it to be honest. 😪

Edit - Sorry to be a wet blanket. I think I just needed to type that out and ackowledge it.

One time I had a manager who said we could take 'Blue Sky' days - it's a nice day out, and you don't feel like coming in, just say so.

I started working from home full time when we went into the COVID shut downs in March 2020. Before that, I would WFH occasionally, including most Fridays. That was a contract role which ended in late 2021, and I found a new, permanent position at a 'remote first' company - over half of our staff works remotely. I'm fully remote, my manager is in San Fransisco, his boss is in Denver, and our company is out of Utah. The last time I worked in an office was March 13, 2020 and I hope I never have to set foot in one for work again.

Unless it is for an internal position, and company policy requires it, do not say anything to your manager - or really anyone else in your company - until you have accepted a new position and have a confirmed start date. You have nothing to gain by having your manager know you are looking for a new job.

I earned an aerospace engineering degree in college, then went on to fly jets in the Air Force. Now I'm an business analyst...

Thanks for serving! 🎶Offaygo...🎶  Soft spot. Dad was ground crew on a P-38 squadron, 1941-2, photo recon (though in his head, he was a pilot).
