Has the show been to that castle before? That steep walk seems awfully familiar. I really wouldn't want to walk all the way up there either.

That castle did look very familiar.  I was wondering if they went there with that Queen of Versailles woman in a previous season?  I remember the stews and deck crew guys hauling all that stuff up the stairs.

  2. I can't even comment on the ridiculousness that is the Tumi/Natalya situation.  Kyle certainly has his hand in a lot of that, but yet, he flies under Sandy's radar.  Apparently, Kyle is now Sandy's favorite, and can do no wrong.

Sandy must have read every book on positive management tropes and memorized them all.  She just spouts all this nonsense, feel-good bullshit without getting to the root of the problem.  I hate when Sandy's voice go down an octave or two - you know she's going to be spewing some phony-sounding compliments or supposed morale-boosting affirmations.

I thought that these guests were kind of demanding, especially the "vegan" woman.  I get that they are paying a lot of money for this trip, but if you are so concerned about your meals, you should be doing personal consults with the chef to insure you get exactly the "flavors" in the vegan dishes you are looking for.

Jack did not throw Tumi under the bus as she said - Tumi repeated exactly what the guest stated she wanted with her tofu.  The guest did not say "breaded and deep fried".

To me, the best talking head of the night was "Cheffy" (Jack), when he said "This ship is turning into the Titanic and we all know that didn't work out so well for Jack" - I'm paraphrasing here, but that made me laugh out loud!  So far, he seems to be very capable and talented, with a good demeanor.  Let's hope it stays that way.

Lastly, why all of a sudden, are the stews and deck hands referring to the chef as "Cheffy"?  Are they too lazy to remember Jack's name?  I get giving the chef respect by referring to him/her as "Chef", due to their training, but to cutesy it up?  That only sounds right when Aesha and Jason say it that way with their great accents.  Something tells me certain chefs in previous seasons of all franchises would not have appreciated being called "Cheffy".

I think Heather is different off camera and the ladies are punishing her for that. Since we don’t see her other behavior, the attacks on her don’t make sense. Especially since they are blaming her for a lot of the stuff Tamra started.
Ryan didn’t show up thankfully,  I think because he couldn’t defend himself.

I think that Ryan didn't show up because he didn't have enough time to create an original art piece on graffiti a denim jacket.  Or possibly, the producers told him he was required to wear a shirt.

Monica may not have been paid, but did she get college credits like Sonja Morgan's assistants/interns??  (Sonja's assistants/interns were all supposedly unpaid, but receiving college credits for the honor of working in Sonja's basement)

I think there is more to this story, and I want to know!!

And, here I thought that Luca was trying to bring back puka shell necklaces!!

    I didn't realize they were pearls.  🤣

There's some piping hot tea regarding Sai.  Notice she rarely wants to talk about her husband.  Almost nothing on her IG.

Apparently Sai got pregnant when her husband was married to another woman.  To make matters worse, he was her boss at the time.  She was working at his bar.

So she basically married a wealthy, older man - that's how she can afford her lifestyle.  She's not as self-made as she pretends to be.

So much for bitching at others for NOT sharing enough of their lives!!!

  7. Not sure if this is the right thread, but I was browsing Talbots' 40% off sale today, and clicked on this denim shirt, and guess who's modeling??  I had to confirm that it is Ubah - apparently, she is one of their go to models.  I've never realized it until today!!  (Hopefully, the correct photo shows up!)  BTW - this is a great sale, if Talbot's is your style.

  8. I've never watched a Bachelor/ette show ever, so this was new for me.  I knew the premise from my kids, so I knew what to expect, but I'm confused as I couldn't remember any of the women's names.  Some seem a little desperate, some seemed quite camera-hungry and others just seem to be there for the right reason.  I hope I enjoy it more, but seeing the coming attractions, I think I might not be so crazy about it.

I did like the fact that they didn't try to hide some of the issues that we "older generation" face - hearing aids,

I really want to know what happened with Aunt Chippy (I must have missed it), as I don't think she got a rose!  I love her - I watch her youtube videos constantly, and she is a hoot!!

All of these people, including Gerry, look absolutely phenomenal!  But, you could clearly tell the women who have an longstanding relationship with botox, fillers and teeth whitening vs. those who may have gotten a few little "tweaks" before appearing on the show.  Gerry, also, looks like he may have had a few tweaks and botox shots, but he is one handsome guy!!  I'm surprised the local divorcess/widows in his part of Indiana haven't been knocking on his door delivering casseroles and offering to spend time with him.

Mary sure is a sourpuss. I can't believe that they are paying her when she doesn't participate in anything and tells the women that she doesn't like them and doesn't want to be there. I hope they cut her lose soon.

I have never seen a housewife more opposed to anything "Real Housewives" as Mary.

I have also never seen anyone with such a perpetual scowl.  Mary is a poster child for RBF, except her face is always in bitch mode, and not just when it's resting.

    She's miserable.

I do have to give Mary props, though, because I really thought she was going to hightail it out of the Trixie Motel once she realized that Trixie was a drag queen, and she hung in there.

I don't know what the big deal is with lighting up an onion, I can set every food known to man alight & I never get a round of applause.

I applauded your post, just so you won't feel left out anymore!  😂

And, yeah, I've been to too many hibachi places/dinners where that flaming onion stack doesn't impress me much.  I think it's cute, but I'm more impressed with the actual food.

Around here, at-home private hibachi dinners are currently a big trend right now.  Companies send a hibachi chef with the flat top, all the food (your choice from pre-determined selections) and add-ons.  They set up on your deck, patio, backyard, etc., and do the whole hibachi dinner thing for you and your invited friends.

I agree with the others who said they miss Cameron and Naomie. The show is not the same.

I really miss Cameron, but Naomie can stay gone.  In my opinion, she was a spoiled, snooty, snotty, whiney person.

I would prefer to see Cameron and Chelsea back on the show.  They were my favorites.

All of the men's outfits were just bizarre.  They looked like they should be in Maine in the middle of winter.  Were they not getting hot?  Were they contractually required to wear the coats the whole time because they were gifted them by that strange shop owner?  And the girls were all dressed like it was mid-summer and didn't look cold at all.  Taylor's hair was also bizarre with that starange green ponytail holder.

How many kids does Madison have (I've only watched the show a handful of times).  How does she go on a monthlong honeymoon with a kid(s) at home?

I agree-very odd fashion choices for all of them.

I was especially confused about Leva's fur jacket and why she kept it buttoned up to the neck, while the other women were wearing more summery dresses and outfits.

And, on another note, I wondered more about Leva's fur jacket because it is identical to one I had in the early 1980's - mine was a silver fox "corduroy cut" jacket.  I wonder if she picked hers up at a vintage shop on King Street.  Hasn't anyone let Leva know that wearing genuine fur is really not a thing these days?

I was more intrigued by the jacket than I was by the wearer.

Those chaps were something else!  And the other ladies had the nerve to get crumbs on them!  Don't they know Mary does not like crumbs???  😂

Those chaps.....WTF????  Why would anyone choose to wear an uncomfortable, leather, multipiece outfit to Palm Springs?  Wasn't she hot?  Wasn't she uncomfortable on the plane?  Why does Mary need to constantly prove her "worth" by wearing some of the tackiest designs ever logo'd by a brand?

And, speaking of tacky, really bad designs - WTF with those shoes that Lisa showed her husband while packing?  They weren't Louis Vuitton (I can't remember the brand), but I immediately said to the TV, in my best Countess Luann voice - "Even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes, dear"  (Classic line when Luann and Alex were discussing Alex's "Herman Munster" boots.)

These women need to take a lesson from Jay-Z -- can't believe I typed that, lol.  Anyway the engagement ring he bought Beyonce cost $5M. However, he also had a duplicate imitation ring made, at the same time, which cost $5K.  She wears the 2nd one for touring, etc.

Seriously, I just read this yesterday, and that is about all I know about either one of them.

A lot of the wealthy do this. They keep the real stuff in a safe or safety deposit box.

Not just wealthy people.  I have a CZ eternity band that I wear on vacation instead of my real one.  I also have some CZ rings that I wear that I wouldn't be super upset over if lost in a ladies' room

I know a lot of younger brides have duplicates of their engagement rings to wear on their honeymoons.

Any good jewelry is a serious investment, whether $6,000.00, $60,000.00 or more, all depending on your income level.  And, as such, should be kept as safe as possible, especially when traveling.

I'm just wondering about this and want to know more about it.

And Mary said that the ring didn't worth $60,000!

Mary has always had a tendency to insult or downplay other housewives' things.  I can remember her making fun of others' purses and clothes in the first couple of seasons, too.  I think that Mary is just a wee bit annoyed that the other women can afford to dress and accessorize themselves as well as, or better, than she does.

I don't know if the ring is worth $60,000.00, but I find it a little ridiculous to wear a ring of that value on a vacation.  Get a good quality dupe for vacation wear and leave the expensive stuff at home.  Never mind losing it, but flashing that much bling in airports, etc., leaves you open to a mugging/theft.

Whatever the case, I think the ring is gone for good, wherever it went, so I hope it's insured.

But did Trixie Mattel have Dom Perignon?

Never mind the Dom - I really cannot wait until Mary actually meets Trixie Mattel!!  I think we're going to see some really interesting looks from those bug-eyes of Mary's.  Something tells me that she's not exactly used to being around or interacting with drag queens.

That motel looked adorable - I'd love to stay there, with or without Dom.

Another forced group encounter.  BORING.  It's obvious these women had no relationship with one another - and were just thrown together for a TV show.  Thus the lack of chemistry.

Whereas the 1st season of RHONY - Alex, Bethenny, Jill, Lu, Ramona set the tone of how to make an iconic debut.

It's also a testament that their families - Simon, Bobby, Mario, The Count, Ally, Avery, Noel, etc. etc. are remembered by the viewers - more than this new cast.

    Don't forget Rosie - Countess LuAnn's live-in housekeeper/nanny!!!

I'm lucky if I can remember all of this new group of housewives' names, never mind any of their family members.

Have the Real Housewives' franchises finally jumped the shark?

    Bring back Zac

I agree - just because I loved that when Zac was a judge, the judging was shown to be much more intense (i.e., the upclose views of the designs).  Based on the seasons when he was a judge, Zac is fair and constructively critical - he doesn't try to totally eviscerate someone with his comments.

I also loved that Zac was thinking "out of the box", and mentioning handbag and accessories lines from Bishme and, with Nina's prompting, Laurance.

I bet that either one or both of them would do amazingly well as handbag/accessory designers.  I would love to see a handbag line from Laurance, especially because she knows how to manipulate leather - I think I would definitely be in the market for a Laurance handbag.

I guess I am the only person in the room who doesn't appreciate Mimi and her skills. Her modeling is less "let the clothes do the talking" as it is Mimi doing performance art. Can you imagine any of the TRUE supermodels (Cindy, Christy, Linda, Naomi, etc.) pulling that crap at a designer's show? Those supermodels gave the clothes they modeled a great frame and walk, then let the clothes shine. And not through the arm movements, high kicks or back bends that Mimi likes to employ. I don't get it.

I agree with you.  I would imagine that during a "real" runway show, that Mimi is instructed on how she should walk, whether it be a hip swinging gait, a slow stroll or a quick step strut.  I also imagine that she follows those directions, unless she doesn't want to work anymore.

I think that PR gives the models some leeway and a chance to showcase themselves a bit, so models with confidence take advantage of that.  Mimi seems definitely not lacking in confidence, and she can definitely walk a runway, albeit very dramatically and oftentimes, NOT showcasing the garment, as you mention.  She absolutely takes advantage of every time any camera is on her, and, imo, it is not used as an advantage to highlight the garment she is modeling.

However, I also think that Mimi is overly-dramatic and quite the attention whore.  She enters a room like everything should stop when she walks in.  She comes across, at least to me, as haughty and self-absorbed, but I think that all models must have some bit of those traits in order to be successful.

  20. After digesting this all, I think that the finale show was a bit of a letdown.  As mentioned above - the designers were only given 8 days to create an 8 piece collection, and all done in the confines of the show workspace.  That's a lot of pressure and personally, I miss the "at home" visits and critiques.

The final collections - none of them completely blew me away.  I liked certain pieces from each collection and disliked others.  Overall, I was about 50/50 on each collection.

Brittany's was street/athletic wear, but I can't really see people wearing a lot of it while working out or while walking around city streets.  The garter things on so many garments were distracting and would create a safety issue around gym equipment as well as walking around.  Could you imagine riding the subway?  Unfortunately, the garters are open invitation to crime/assault, or even getting caught in the train doors or turnstiles.

My issue with Bishme's collection was the hats.  I knew he would include the hats since they got such high praise during the season, but the attached veils reminded me of a nun who was trying to be cool and modern, while still wearing her habit and headwear.  Again, I don't think they would translate well into ready to wear (maybe they aren't supposed to?)  My 3 year old  granddaughter also often takes scarves and tucks them into hats to pretend some type of bride play - the hats were also reminiscent of that.

Laurance's issue, for me, is that she really does not design anything for anyone that is not 20-30 yrs. old, 5'11" and 110 lbs.  Most of garments are gorgeous, but would not translate well into ready to wear for the average person.  The purple suit showed that.  Also, there was another piece with those cone things on the bodice - is that a thing in fashion now?  Unless they are fitted exactly, that is not going to look good on the average person.  And even then, that look is horrible, as evidenced by the model.

All in all, most of knew that this was going to be Bishme's win, so I'm glad that worked out for him and wish him success.

There were only three looks that I didn’T care for.

The pink spandex tube dress, too simple and seemed like filler.

The green jacket/skirt combo. Too simple and blah.

The purple jacket/pant combo. Material and fit was bad.

I agree - that purple suit was Christian's suggestion, but I don't think that was Laurance's choice of what to do with that fabric.  I felt like that was a throw-away to appease Christian and to come up with an 8th piece to the collection.  It didn't look like Laurance's point of view - it actually looked like KaraSaun's POV, without feathers and embellishments.

Bisme had some great looks but his collection was not cohesive. I did like most of Laurence looks especially the ones with the sheer skirts. This finale bothered me a bit because it seemed like Bisme would win no matter what and this season seemed to be more about mentoring a young talent which meant people like Kortoe, Rami and Kara Saun had no chance. I was curious about Brandon not being there but I assume only Elaine matters now so maybe he thought he wasn’t needed.

I'm happy for Bishme, but totally agree with your comment (bolded).  Even Laurance didn't stand a chance - she is 48 years old.

I'd like to know WHY Brandon didn't show.

Bishme's collection was nice, but the entire collection did not wow me.  I loved the red and white coat and dress and the final gown was stunning.  The model who wore it was amazing, as well.

I want to get a hug from Bishme's Mom - she looks like an amazing hugger!!

I think that's a hard pass for me.  I don't mind paying for streaming services where I can watch actual decent shows and movies that will actually feature talented actors, but I'll stick with just my weekly pretentious updates from Heather on Bravo.  $200.00 a year to watch Heather and Terry fake fawning over each other and themselves is too much for me.
