Lol., I had to do the same thing! I agree with most that it was very well done. There were a few moments that felt a little heavy handed or preachy, for lack of a better word, but I enjoyed it. That ending was quite powerful, emotionally. It didn't really feel like Doctor Who, but in a good way, if that makes any sense.... their minimal interference made it seem more like us watching them watching history unfold before their eyes...just a very different feel all the way around. What I found most impressive was the portrayals of racism from the featured townies, mainly the man who slapped Ryan, the cop at the motel and the bus driver; all were chillingly believable.
I don't believe I've posted on this show board before, so I'll offer some general thoughts, for what they're worth. I guess it's to be expected but the show in general doesn't completely feel like DW to me...yet. There have been glimpses but I think having two earth-centric episodes and a third that looked basically like it took place in the desert have hobbled its Who-ness a bit. That said, I think THE GHOST MONUMENT has been the best so far. I'm sure it will get there. Which brings us to JW. I really wasn't sure about her at first, mainly because she wasn't Peter/Matt/David/Christopher. I've struggled with each regeneration so far, only to end up loving each of them - even curmudgeonly old Peter ;) - for what they are, which is The Doctor. Jody has grown on me a bit, even in three episodes. There are definitely shades of both 10 and 11 in there and I can't wait to see how she develops. I fully expect to miss her just as much as the others once her time comes due.

I loved this ep! Loved Frank and his new crazy chick! I'm going to predict she kills him by the end of the season -- or seriously injures him. That will be fun to watch!
I love Fiona and her downward spiral. Haha! She is looking more and more like the female version of Frank. (A little like Monica too with that manic in the middle of the night welcome home party and the big ass side of beef in the plastic wrap she was trying to shove in the oven! ) I laughed out loud -- oh also the trying the booze in the store to see which one she can drink right out of the bottle! haha! When I saw that I was like-- OMG! other people do that too? < I'm not admitting anything!
Hey! The dog which she got from the old lady who died in her building didn't want to go with her. It ran away upstairs. It is now Max's (is that his name?) problem. I would have left the damn thing too. So I had NO problem with that.
Oh Karl! The look on the new girlie's (don't know her name) face when he answered some of those questions-- like whoa! He really is dumb! I predict the little wife -- Kassidy (sp?) -- will come back at a very inopportune time. There is no way that crazy chick is really gone.
I even liked Lip and that girl we have seen before. Don't know her name but their little tryst was kind of cute.
So the show is taking a break until January? What??? Me no likey!
I love and agree with everything in this post. I got the Franica.....Monicank(?!) vibes too but I'm sure she'll bounce back. A 24 hour post hospital visit binge hardly makes for a spiral - It's not like we haven't seen her do this countless times before. It just depends if she's still at it when the show returns (that bugged me too but at least the episode count is up to 14 this year).
That dog will be fine, it's the reincarnation of the Littlest Hobo! (<shameless reference to classic Canadian TV, lol!) Seriously though, the dog has a sentimental attachment to the building; Fiona gets it and that's enough. It's the beauty of television; we all know the dog ran upstairs to it's trainer off screen and don't need to get triggered because our sense of disbelief has long been well honed to a fine point of suspension........ No?.....Not everyone?......Oh...... Well, anyway......
Carl and Kelly are great together! I didn't like her at first but she's grown on me. Rather than trying to control him for her own selfish
needswants, she's trying to help him because it will benefit the both of them in the long run. I hope you're dead wrong about Kassidi coming back but my fear is all too real that she is, and it will not be pretty......On a related note, Kev's "Hahaha, shut your stupid mouth Carl!" was priceless! Don't care what anyone says, there can never be too much Kev!Tami surprised me with her return. I was in the minority who seemed to think she was the one in the wrong with the way she treated Lip when he showed up to ask her out on a date and was dreading the day she came back. This wasn't too bad though, the way they they left it. She clearly has issues like the rest of them but it felt almost like she was admitting that she has her faults or something....I don't know but her personality wasn't nearly as abrasive as when they first met.

Regarding the ‘spear’, in the clip it does show Daryl giving the thing a good look over before handing it to her, so I’m sure the thought must have crossed his mind. Maybe he’s becoming a bit more diplomatic rather than just jumping straight in.

I have to agree with those that are enjoying it so far, it's steadily improving each week. They really do need to thin the heard though; I generally recognize most of the faces but I can't remember half their names, if that. Case in point; I had to check Imdb to get Beatrice, the name of the woman from checkpoint 5 whom they found knocked out when Arat was taken. Prior to this Episode, I only knew Arat from this board, had no idea who she was. Anyway, this brings us to my only qualm with this episode, which is really just a nitpick, I know, but It bugged me; Rick Has this big talk with Daryl about how the wound that killed Justin is suspiciously similar to an arrow...like one you might use in a crossbow. Later, when they find Beatrice, Daryl picks up her weapon of choice - a fishing speargun with a projectile almost identical in description to a crossbow arrow - and hands it back to her without batting an eye. Right then and there it was obvious she was involved in the killings somehow, if not solely responsible, but he can't do the math until he sees another one of her spears sticking out of a walker. Really?! I know they still had some episode run-time to kill at that point, but still...he could have a quick conversation with Maggie about being suspicious or something; Daryl's no genius, but he's not a complete imbecile either. He could have pulled her aside, relayed the information, then let the rest of the episode play out as it did. I don't think it would have lessened the impact of that execution scene and it could've added more weight to the disconnect between them and Rick.

Absolutely with you, 100%! THAT WAS AWESOME!!! As stated last week, just as planned, I checked my disbelief at the door and let everything wash over me, no judgement. It took me a few days to get to it this week but I'm glad I finally watched. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed Riverdale so much; It's so damn ridiculous, it's brilliant! I can empathize with @WhosThatGirl and others who say it's not the show they signed up for because I agree; it's not what I expected either. To be honest, I'm not sure what I expected, other than the Archie characters to be brought to life in some kind of overly dramatic, unlikely if not entirely unrealistic fashion. Kind of a Beverly Hills 90210/Dawson's Creek mash up of sorts, with maybe a dash of Veronica Mars or something to effect deeper storytelling. Admittedly, I'm no longer the target demographic for THAT show, but like anyone that read Archie comics as a kid, to any extent, I had at least a passing interest in seeing how it was done. For me, the first season struck a pretty good balance between comic book storytelling and real world situations, for the most part. Season two, somehow , seemed to go off the rails, leaning too far to the comic book side of things and it was jarring for the audience. I'm guessing it was intentional, to some extent, but poorly executed. Having already succumbed to the 'anything goes' mentality often afforded comics, rather than try to course correct and re-achieve that season one balance, I think they've fully embraced that world and have made the show a parody of the teen drama, comic book and horror genres. It's a dark comedic satire, as I see it; the storytelling in general, and certain scenes in particular, are outrageously OTT but they play it serious, so it's subtle. I think the show knows exactly what it's doing. In any case, it had me in stitches and I can't wait for more.

Count me among the middle ground viewers. I enjoyed it, for the most part, but the bullying/harassment tactics seemed over the top ridiculous to me. Eric Winter as TO Bradford is probably the most interesting character at this point because every time he came across as a racist/asshole/narcissist jerk, it was followed by some insightful wisdom or background reveal that there is more than meets the eye with him. I think he could grow on me. Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Grey, on the other hand, is just horribly conceived, written and performed; probably the only truly garbage thing about this show. I couldn't believe it when he said "Young adults can be molded and taught, 40 year olds think they already know everything."....WHAT?!!! That's the polar opposite of how most people understand human nature to be; more often than not, it's people in their late teens/early twenties with the bravado to be impulsive and make mistakes, not someone in their forty's who has lived and had enough experiences to cautiously think things through. Jones couldn't believably act his way out of the womb and with a voice like his, no one should be giving him this kind of stupid shit to say, they should be trying to write material that makes him sound as smart as possible. I mean, Seriously?! His job "is to ensure the safety of ALL my officers so that they can continue to do their job on a daily basis.".... so he's gong to wish, hope, pray and take actions to enure that this one Rookie screws up enough so that he can fire him?! That makes ZERO sense, because in doing so, he's putting all his officers at risk. Every time Nolan screws up endangers the other officers so why would you, as the sergeant in charge, want to put all your officer in harms way? It's a hypocritical, idiotic mentality and there's no believable way someone that stupid would be able to maintain a position of power once he got there. Too bad I'll have to put up with him, as I intend to keep watching.

Polly seems to be completely out of character! I can't figure out why she's so gung ho with Alice on this medical farm cult place when she had to rescued from the crazy nun hospital that Alice had her put in back when she was still pregnant. This show clearly has no continuity bible, but I doubt they would even follow it if they did, because it should be easy to check the history if anyone cared to try.

Where are you from? I'm in BC, about two blocks from the "Whyte Worm" in fact, and I didn't notice anything strange about it. We tend to pronounce it "kwebec" but I know regional variants tend to pronounce it more like "kaybec".

So....they apparently decided to triple down on the stupid this year. I'm officially watching just to see how ridiculous it gets and what outrageous thing they come up with next. I'm checking my disbelief at the door with the full intention of not letting one idiotic thing said or done by anyone to get under my skin. I completely expect to laugh long, hard and maniacally!

This genuinely made me laugh out loud because I totally get it! Of the three, I always hated Rene the most, thanks to everything you mention. He was the absolute worst! Dinah could be annoying, particularly when they divided the teams and she automatically got lumped in with Rene and Curtis but my biggest issues with her were that the acting chops weren't quite there and also because she took Laurel's place; I liked Katie Cassidy and I know she worked hard physically to prep for the Canary role and for whatever reason they took it away from her before she really had a chance to own it. I was looking forward to her in full blown Canary mode and I don't think they gave her the story to really get there before killing her off and Dinah's story just wasn't as interesting; I don't think it carried near the background weight that Laurel's did. Curtis I enjoyed when he was first introduced but he became a super whiny crybaby as a vigilante and his civilian personality has become a one note annoyance. All that said, I'll clarify that while they didn't bother me, I"m not looking forward to great gobs of them on screen either; small doses, please.

This is the only thing that truly bothered me, alongside the fact that Diaz is still a thing. Felicity roughed him up pretty good before he got the upper hand and appeared to have his back to the door so, assuming he did a shit ton more monologuing until they showed up to save her, did he escape through a window? Did they not cover all potential exit points?....How can the infamously mighty ARGUS be so incompetent? I get that they probably want some kind of showdown with Ollie/the team finally taking him down, and I usually like Kirk Acevedo's work, but Diaz sucks because his motivations only stem from being butt hurt as a child over something stupid that I can't even remember and he just needs to go. I would have been perfectly fine with a tiny bit of exposition from Felicity telling Oliver how Diaz was taken out in a hail of bullets, no scene required.
Surprisingly enough, I wasn't even bothered by the Rene/Dinah scenes for the most part, almost to the point of enjoying them, particularly Rene with the kids in the boxing gym. In hindsight, it almost had a bit of a Rocky vibe, as far as the setting goes. Curtis was still cringe-worthy; too bad really, I kind of liked him, initially. There were a few things I could nit pick about, such as the prison guard behavior in certain cases, but overall I thought it was a really solid episode. The end reveal with Roy wasn't a real shock to me because I had seen Colton tweet something about his costume, but the scene still gave me goosebumps. Something about it felt fresh and exciting, like the old days of seasons 1&2. I'm looking forward to more, hopefully including the quick demise of Diaz.

Same. Two seconds in I stopped it and Googled a recap. Good thing, because I'd completely forgotten all of it, which is a surprise considering how shocked I had been at Tasha "flipping" after she let Reid know how she felt and they finally got together. I really hope it's some kind of Deep cover thing she's on and that she hasn't really been a covert baddy all along. I really couldn't handle losing both her and Jane to the dark side, I don't think. I don't really care for Jane becoming Remi again, either, but at least in her case there is something of a precedent for it, and they had to do something to keep the show going without turning it into a generic cop show, not that it's too far removed from one anyways. All in all, not a bad opener; Weller is still a weak link, unfortunately. Nothing against Sullivan, but his range is limited and I think he can't really carry the boring "in recovery and pining for Jane" story he's been saddled with. They should have had him fully recovered back in the field.

I thought she started off a little rough but it improved as she went along and finished fairly strong. Interestingly, it sounded to me as if it was recorded live on set instead of having them mime to it then adding the prerecorded audio in post. Unusual choice, if that was the case.

Damn, the one exact thing that I was going to say! It was like they remembered he's not a mute! A step up as many have said but there's still a long way to go. Taking half the stuff they did from the museum was stupid, especially the "covered" wagon; they had clearly converted a vehicle into a horse drawn wagon for human transport, they could easily build more for supply wagons. The biggest thing I kept thinking was why are we wasting so much time watching the resulting fallout from the death of a character we just met? It carried negative weight. The best thing about it was the long overdue death of Gregory. I Disagree that he is a good villain, as someone else noted; his only motivation is greed and cowardice, there is no potentially redemptive reasoning behind his actions. Negan may have been a ridiculously over the top, power mad asshole, but at least in his delusional mind he believed that his way of doing things was the best way for society to thrive and survive as long as everyone was compliant. Overall, it was definitely a step up from last season and it gives me hope but at this point, for the first time, I'd have to say that FEAR is the better written show. Who would have ever predicted that? ;)

Lol, if I did that it would probably drive me nuts! I find with AHS, the best course of action is complete and utter suspension of disbelief. My only thought is that they didn't understock the food provisions or anything else that's lacking, there has to be some reason for treating them the way they are. Whether it's Venables just fucking with them or the Collective is grooming them for something, I'm just going to watch and wait for it to be revealed......or not, hahaha!
