Great article where the show runners break down last night's episode. It's lengthy but if you scroll towards the end, they explain the weird Lottie/Travis/Natalie sex scene. It's reminiscent of the Man of Science vs. Man of Faith theme that played out during the course of Lost.

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/yellowjackets-season-2-episode-2-cannibalism-dream-sequence-1235363388/

That's exactly what I thought during that whole sequence, starting from when the snow fell (🤔 was knocked?) from the tree onto Jackie's pyre. It was giving me complete LOST vibes and all I could think was, I hope they give a better explanation when all is said and done!🤣

  2. It was a bit of a bummer but it left me wanting more at the same time. I'd love to see a second season detailing a reunion scenario but I won't hold my breath.

Eddie definitely wasn't good enough to go on his own but Billy was really the jerk for taking his spotlight moment at the hometown show and then doubling down on it during his band introductions the next show in Chicago. Neither of them were great at keeping their egos in check.

I was already aware that the documentarian was the daughter because I kept seeing the actresses name in the credits and kept wondering when she was going to turn up. I finally checked IMDb and she was listed as both so the reveal wasn't a surprise but I still thought it was really well done.

  3. I was really choked to see Sophie go, I really thought she might be rescued with the others and continue her plan to help the fae. Jonah buying it the way he did made his murder of Sophie so much easier to accept, lol.

I have a bad feeling that Tourmaline is somehow going to turn out to be the beast. It seems a little obvious to me but hopefully there's a twist I don't see coming. I also see the potential pairing of her with Darius. I'm okay if I'm right on that one.😁

They got married when they were 25 years old. In the pilot, they're both 35 and have been married for 10 years.

I did a rewatch this weekend before starting season two, and I jotted down all the indications that Kevin is emotionally abusive/generally a bad guy:

    Specific examples, with episode numbers:

    • Used Allison's student loan to invest in a failed business and never paid it back (1x01)
    • Convinced Allison she's bad with money, so he takes care of all of it; wiped their shared account and has been lying about it (1x01)
    • Constantly criticizes Allison's driving; convinced her she's a bad driver and made her hate driving; never lets her take "his" car (1x01)
    • Had a feud with the mailwoman and got her deported (1x01)
    • Won't laugh at Allison's jokes; tells her "you know what happens when you try to be funny" (1x02)
    • Refuses to have children because they would pull focus from him (1x02); only changes his mind when he thinks Allison will claim his sperm have low motility and he wants to prove her wrong (1x07)
    • Refuses to let Allison have a pet because he needs to be the cutest thing in the house (1x02)
    • Set the neighbors' lawn on fire; xenophobic because they're English (1x02)
    • Committed insurance fraud (hid all their belonging at Neil's and told the police they'd been stolen) (1x02)
    • Called the police and reported the car stolen when Allison didn't answer her phone (he called 16 times and left 32 messages) (1x04)
    • When Allison got a job as a paralegal, she started working a lot and Kevin convinced everyone she was having an affair with her married, 60-something boss. He put sugar in the boss's gas tank and ruined his car. Got Allison fired (1x04)
    • Kicked Patty out of the group and refused to let anyone call her anything but "She-Devil" because she didn't bring him a burger (1x05)

    General behavior:

    • Doesn't cook or clean; leaves mess everywhere
    • Expects to be waited on hand and foot
    • Mocks Allison for being emotional (makes jokes about her period)
    • Breaks/ruins/gives away Allison's things (or things she likes) and doesn't apologize or care (coffee table, clothing, dog)
    • Doesn't listen to Allison when she talks, even when she repeats the same answer to his question multiple times
    • Patronizes Allison, assuming she doesn't understand any jokes or references (for example, "Meat and Greet" in 1x08)
    • Made a drinking game out of Allison's "whining" (i.e., what mostly seem to be valid objections to idiotic ideas)

    Vague:

There have been a few mentions that Allison was on a successful swim team in high school (even making it to Nationals), was on track to go to college, and had lots of friends, but she "bailed" on the team after junior year and became isolated from everyone. Not sure if this is related, but Neil mentioned in 1x08 that "fun Allison" died in an incident at a waterpark. Not sure what this has to do with Kevin (yet, anyway).

Do I think murdering Kevin is the right call? No, of course not. She says in season one that she can't leave because she'd only have $194 to her name, that he'd never let her leave, and that if she left, he'd find her. She says in this episode that divorce would be expensive and take years (and he'd never agree to it). Those all seem like things that can be worked around without someone dying/faking their own death. But I can see that after 10 years of being emotionally beaten down by a man who views her as simple-minded, helpless, unfunny, boring, and a nagging shrew, she would snap.

Along with @Spartan Girl's comment above, I'd forgotten much of this. A binge rewatch before season 2 started would have been a better idea than I thought at the time, lol. Thanks for this.

  5. If Kevin was being physically abusive wouldn't Sam have noticed it when they were having their affair and said something or asked Allison about it?

Very interested to see more of Neil's awakening to Kevin's poor treatment and complete lack of respect for him. That could be quite the reckoning given what we've seen of his real world persona. I'm also very curious to see why Allison feels there's no way she could have gone to college despite the reporter saying she had options. I'm wondering if maybe she got pregnant senior year or just after graduation. Perhaps they married out of convenience and it being the right thing to do, only for her to lose the baby and the ability to conceive again and Kevin holds it over and against her.

I really don't want to hate on the acting here, but Vanessa Morgan and Drew Ray Tanner looked like Emmy winners opposite of Baby Anthony's actor.  A lot of heavy lifting on their parts.

I disagree... It occurred to me while watching the scene that starts the musical number (because of course!🤣🤣🤣), Anthony is a baby in a grown man's body. He has been aged up physically but has never had any of the life experiences that would allow him to grow mentally and emotionally and the actor is playing him as such. I therefore submit that he is the greatest actor that Riverdale has ever showcased!😏

  7. I caught the botched high five as well, lol. I had to watch it back to make sure it wasn't my eyes playing tricks.😆

The dog licking all of Archie's stab wounds away with his magical, healing saliva might just be the funniest thing this show has ever given me.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

God bless you, Riverdale... I'm going to miss your ridiculousness when you're gone.

  8. Haven't finished watching yet, only about halfway through but why is the dialogue audio such fucking garbage?! Is it just me? It's bad enough with Butcher and Frenchie's accents but what the fuck is with Homelander and Deep mumbling all their lines because they're supposed to be "intensely whispering"?! Seriously, is it me or is the sound design pure shite?

  9. I'm more curious why the city already appeared to be half in ruins and burning while Luther was proposing to Sloane and everyone else was celebrating their "victory"? None of the previous kugleblitze events showed any damage being done other than the obliterated animals and people. Or, did I miss something?

It’s also kinda amazing the costume fits Clint perfectly and Kate, who’s smaller than Clint, and Grills, who’s clearly taller than Clint.

Exactly what I came to see, if anyone else mentioned it. Is the suit imbued with magical, one size fits all powers, lol?

I have a theory.  I came here to see if I was alone in thinking this and so far I haven't seen anyone else mention this.  Even though it's not a spoiler, I'm going to mask it because I know some people don't even like to read speculations.  What if

      Reveal spoiler

Harrison is not really Harrison.  He's Dexter's brother Brian's son, he's a serial killer, and to get revenge he first killed the real Harrison and looked for Dexter to either learn from him or kill him.  I know that theory is out there, but Harrison is definitely hiding something.  For instance, tonight he acted like he didn't know how to shoot a gun, but he clearly knew how and purposely deceived Dexter.  Another thing, he looks nothing like Dexter and Rita.  And his backstory is fishy.  Hannah died from cancer?  Or did this imposter kill her.

It's just speculation, but Clyde Phillips said,

    https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dexter-new-blood-ending-surprising-yet-inevitable-make-viewers-brains-explode-clyde-phillips-promises.html/

What do you guys think?  Is my theory plausible or completely off the wall?

I've had that same theory about Hannah since very early on but I hadn't considered the rest of your theory because I'd completely forgotten about the brother storyline...but they're showing Harrison's memory flashbacks too vividly to not be him, so I don't think so. I'm sticking with my Hannah theory, though.

My point was that this cave is not THE crime scene so why bother?

Except we don't know that the cave is NOT the crime scene. All we know, and more importantly, All Angela and everyone else IN THE SHOW knows is that Iris went missing. She could have been brought there first and then killed or she could have been dumped after the fact, it's undetermined at this point. When a body is found, investigators can only work from the origin of discovery utilizing forensics to hopefully determine all factors in the death, that's "why bother". Angela knowing Dexter's true identity and background makes him her quickest, easiest option for maybe finding out what happened. Now, if you want to argue the efficacy or likelihood of utilizing the skills of a supposedly dead man in any case or trial brought against any accused perpetrator, that's a different story, lol.

Well, this entire series was a chore to watch.  Not even a slight mention of Rick Grimes in the end.  But, hey, at least we got to see Dr. Jenner.  I guess that's something.

She never used his name, but Jadis did refer to him when Huck asked about her trading someone to be accepted in. I actually enjoyed the show, for the most part, but it really did kind of fizzle at the end without any kind of real resolution. I really hope some of these characters at least receive some sort of inclusion/conclusion if and when these Rick movies ever surface.

  15. Junior has been a douche since minute one, not surprised in the least he took this turn. That said, it's going to be fun watching how this plays out. I assumed there was going to be ten episodes, I'm both sad and excited there's only one left. Hoping for more seasons if it hasn't already been announced.

I've been getting tired of all the self-loathing and angst that this show likes to dwell in, but finally it seems like the characters made actual changes at the end of this episode so that was good to see.

    Agreed.

    *Watches episode nine*

    😒.... Did they, though?

    🙄😔🤦🏻‍♂️

  17. I didn't even realize until looking up to see if there was info on the French song at the end that next week is the season finale. So little has happened it feels like there should be another three episodes. All I can say is  Kipling better show up with Niles' head, the lone escaped butt monster should arrive on the scene, Larry's larva lad needs to serve it's real purpose and the rest of our misfits have to get back to abnormal. This show has fallen so far from season one's great and gloriously weird perfection, it's a sad, pathetic shell of its former self...kinda like Larry, post negative spirit abandonment. I really hope season 4 can recover and return to some semblance of its former brilliance.

  18. I forgot this was the 100th and a host of older Legends were guesting... actually, I had only heard mention of Wentworth. The initial start of the episode had me dreading the next hour; 'oh great, Spooner and Astra, the worst "legend" in the history of the show (fight me, lol) stuck in a Gideon's brain bottle episode', ugh! Astra aside, it ended up pretty great... except until Bishop reared up again....and again. What is with the CW and Berlanti recycling the villains on their shows so that they overstay their welcome and make the shows almost unbearable? Legends has managed to avoid it, for the most part up until now, I guess it was their turn. Can we please have him shut down and vanquished in a maximum 3 episode arc?

I generally feel that way too but I think in this case, it could have been funny. I mean, what could have been a bigger distraction from the alien baby laboratory than fighting each other over Covid? LOL And it would have given a nod to those who believe in Covid conspiracy theories.

I'll agree that the potential was there...but I wouldn't have trusted these writers to handle it competently or make it work, lol. Ultimately, the best thing about this season, for me, is that they didn't even attempt to incorporate any of that.
