You have to think of a couple of things. The Veterans contracts are wrapping up. Colin had no choice but to do S7. Could he come back for S8? Sure but do I think he will, he experessed at cons this past summer that this was his final season. Lana and Bobby both seem done as well. I've always stated that this season was a pass the torch season and after it, the show would be about the newbies. But is it even worth the risk, lets look at facts. Right now OUAT is the lowest rated show on ABC. That's a fact, everything beats OUAT including repeats of things. They will be suffering their DST annual drop, which means 7B will bring in likely a 0.4/0.3 rating. S8 will suffer another drop, as it always would, so that'd be a 0.2? At that point it's not worth it. That's bottom tier CW and ABC is not the CW. Plus they'd have to cut costs once again which is where cutting the vets comes in. For S8 they'd need new contracts for Lana, Colin, and Bobby + adding Alice, Robin, and Bex back on as regulars. It's just too expensive for a show that will be performing at horrific numbers in S8. The fact they announced this coming con is the final one of OUAT is also something that suggests it's the final season. I don't believe what Dungey said, it's the TCA's they will not speak ill of any of their shows, even their cancelled ones. I mean The Mayor was cancelled cause of the "political climate" is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard. There's nothing the network or ad buyers benefit from another season of this show. Especially when S7 has been so universally panned. I expect the announcement will be made before it returns in March and it will be "mutual agreement" to end the show then. Even though we all know that will be a lie. This whole thing was PR, simple as that.

Reaper thinks it's a load of horse manure. He said do not believe anything the execs say at these events and he's always said in the past if the only positive thing to discuss about a show is delayed viewing that is not good and a sure sign of cancellation. Because Ad-buyers do not benefit from delayed viewing. Especially when you include the fact that OUAT's +7 numbers are absolutely horrible. A 0.9 +7 for the mid season finale meanwhile AOS gets a 1.3/1.4 in delayed viewing in+7 That's what delayed viewing is supposed to do. Dungey is straight up doing PR.

R.I.P OUAT. This confirms now that OUAT has been dragging the entire Friday night line up down. A Game Show does better then OUAT has done all season. It's done.

All of this just screams cancellation to me. They're literally one by one getting rid of the "fresh new air" that was supposed to be "the new stablitiy" of the show. They're getting rid of every single person connected to Cinderella. Literally makes no sense when she's the albeat horrific main heroine we won't have anymore background on her at all. That's what this says and that to me indicates the show is over. That and Lana's tweet scream cancellation to me and they all know. Adelaide especially was supposed to be promoted and it seems they realize since they're not getting another season of this flop reboot they have to kill off all the characters they set up for a wrap up with Gothel as the big bad of the reboot. It's so so bad. I'm 100% certain S7 will be struck from the canon by all people after it's done airing.

Well I think this seals OUAT's fate. A re-run of Shark Tanks delivered better ratings then OUAT has done all year and it helped AOS raise up to a 0.6. This confirms that OUAT was killing their entire Friday line up and it does not look good for the show. At least Shark Tanks is entertaining. This really does not look good for OUAT at all. If anything it shows it hinders the lineup.

Last creation OUAT con. And it seems clear to me they're closing the sets which means the show has been cancelled. What a shock to anyone that the new cast is not selling cause nobody cares about them.

This is definitely gonna be below 2 million viewers and a 0.4/0.3 in Spring. No doubt now, that massive episode drop is a really scary thing for ad buyers.

Honestly I think it has to do with peolpe not changing the channel on time from what they were watching at 7:30 and by the time they realize it's on the wrong channel this happens. Honestly that's the only explanation. But they are losing a massive chunk of the demo in the 2nd half hour which is not a good sell at all for ad buyers. This looks even worse, when you compare to every other drop from the shows which are all pretty standard. This drop is ridiculously bad. Ad buyers will not put money into these kind of risks. It's incredibly poor business. Sure the rating is stable on the surface but looking at it from all angles it's not. It's really horrible. Those in episode drops are massive and those viewership declines is every episode and it's at below 2 million. That's awful from all standpoints. This is a midseason finale and a hyped return of a character, really bad.

That is a ridiculous half hour drop, good lord. That is almost a point. That is awful. ABC cannot be happy with that.

It was down in viewership to almost below 2 million. Not even Zelena was enough to increase their ratings. DST is going to kill this shows Spring Ratings. They really need to announce this season as the last already.

They're in freaking lala land there's no other reaction. Like this screams like they know how bad the writing is but it's your fault for not giving a crap about the newbies. That 0.4 sure tells you how much of your audience is giving this a chance. Idiots, cancellation can't come soon enough.' I don't see them getting rid of Jacinda, Henry/Cinderella, Hyperion Heights, and the majority of the characters that multiple outlets and majority of fans hate so yeah not buying this. Sounds like they know they're cancelled to me.

After the reaction to the reboot, I don't think Adam and Eddy will have much of a fanbase left to trust them. They've left a lot of bad taste in their loyal fans mouths.

I think if the writers know the reaction to S7, literally no one cares about the romance between Henry and Cinderella. The anti chemistry couple.

Shoot do Kingdom Hearts. Do you know how many people have begged for Disney to capitalize on that property. A streaming Kingdom Hearts series is money.

How convoluted the storyline is honestly makes it so easy for general audiences to just give up at this point.

But no one recognizes this season of OUAT. It would be nonsensical. Disney could acquire tons of recognizable shows and properties. They have an endless supply of shows with familiar characters. This season of OUAT has the majority of the characters that no one recognizes nor cares about.. Maybe Disney may do this for AOS which they saved but they did not save OUAT, Netflix did and I do not at all think Netflix is saving this season.

OUAT wasn't even mentioned and if anything I think this plus the incredibly poor ratings and response to S7 suggests Disney does not need OUAT anymore.

Hence why the entirety of S7 got the end of the year award for most convoluted storyline.

8 years have passed in EF 2 , but yeah I have no idea why no one is aging. They really do think everyone watching this is dumb. I think this is just as bad as the 6A finale. Yes I said it, it's just as bad as that awful SQ fever dream.

*whispers* Just cause you have Regina say a dumb line about how she's not here for timelines doesn't excuse the fact that you are horrible and lazy writers that know how awful and lazy you're writing is*whispers* This show sucks so bad now. Also put this as another retcon. Apparently in order to cast the dark curse you don't need the heart of the thing you love most but to have been able to cast the curse before. So basically I mean if these writers remembered their show which they should cause this SL was when the show was good Charming shouldn't have had his heart ripped out and Snow should have never cast the curse. But you know who am I with trying to find logic in this embarrassment of a season when even the writers can't make any semblance of their timeline.

Which is to me impossible because every show drops in the Spring time and this show will not be the exception. It's already hitting a 0.4 in the unroundeds.

And I assume Gothel sounds like a better final villain then Tremaine for the series though it's still severely underwhelming. Black Fairy could destroy Gothel I imagine.

Well to add mroe bad press to the reboot OUAT won 2 end of the year awards. One was a good one for the S6 Finale, Best Montage. The other is Most Convoluted Storyline for the entire S7 reboot. More bad press for S7, and this is from TV Line one of the big champions for S7. Sounds like Mitovitch dropped it.
