  1. Well, their second album Peace Sells... But Whose Buying? is day and night difference from their first one. Though, still, whenever Dave Mustane sings, 90 percent of the time I hear a cat mewling 🤣 and can't understand a word he is singing.

  2. Started Megadeth (never heard any of their songs before, was Metallica guy). Um, first album, yeah... it's trash metal, I mean, if Mustane's voice was any good might have liked the songs, but so far, unimpressed. The only notable song in the whole album was this (the rest were just incoherent shouting and/or mumbling over fast riffs):

  3. Well, since Stones released this year a new album, decided to listen to it. Either because I was listening to mellow and slow songs for a couple of months it seems, or for some other reason, but their Hackney Diamonds album is one of their best works. And, one of the best albums that I've heard this year (probably cause I've been listening to mellow slow stuff without much guitar oomph, so I have yet to re-develop a critique taste for what I'm hearing lol).

    8.3/10

    Best songs in the album (IMO):

  5. So, I was reading JLA "Pain of the Gods" story from 2004, which is basically, JLA coming to terms with various losses they suffer, and in penultimate issue of the story, Wonder Woman comes to the JLA tower for some consolation, and Martian Manhunter is there, and says: "I sense you are distraught. do you need some moral support?" or something like that, and Diana happy to talk it out begins to open her mouth, but Martian Manhunter says to her then: "Well, then go to Superman", and walks away. This was unintentionally hilarious.

  6. So far, Katie Melua's last album "Love and Money" (2023). Out of all the artists I've listened to, hers discography probably is one of the most most flawless to my ears.

    As always, subjective assessments:

    Call of the Search (2003) - 7.5/10

    Piece by Piece (Special Edition) (2006) - 8/10

    Pictures (2007) 8.5/10

    The House (2010) - 10/10

    Secret Symphony (2011) - 9.1/10

    B Sides: The Tracks That Got Away (2012) - 7.8/10

    Ketevan (2013) - 6.7/10

    In Winter (2016) - 4/10

    Album No. 8 (2020) - 8/10 / Acoustic version (2020) - 7.3/10

    Aerial Objects (2022) - 8.3/10

    Love and Money (2023) - 7/10

    Average score: 7.65/10

  7. Katie Melua's Album No. 8 (2020). Not really feeling it, I mean, it's a solid album, but in terms of quality does not hold a candle to her previous albums... something is missing...

    EDIT: after listening to the ordinary version of this album, began listening to acoustic version, and... it's miles better. So, scratch my post about not feeling it.

  8. Read through the year of 2003. Nothing substantial I've got to add, save for these things:

    a) the most memorable arcs in Justice League were World War 3 (Issues 36-41), Tower of Babel (43-46); The Queen of Fables (47-49); The Obsidian Age (68-75) and Trial by Fire (83-89);

    b) for sometime now, Batman has been for the lack of better word an unlikeable c***, especially in Robin comics;

    c) the best "discoveries" for me was randomly stumbling upon Lucifer and Gotham Central. They are both equally interesting and probably the best reads out of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, JLA and Hellblazer comics;

    d) for the most part, I don't care about Superman's futuristic Metropolis and all the troubles it causes. It's been stale for some time now. Though, I guess with the issue of Superman No. 200 (2004 February), they are going to reconcile something with Superman: Birthright, which reading it prior to this, in my opinion was something out of Elseworlds without being labelled such.

  9. Yesterday watched The Menu (2022). Food critics and their friends get invited to a lavish dinner prepared by a top class chef, but the chef has plans to murder everyone and himself. Basically, a diet Saw without any gore, and you have to wait 40 min. for something to happen. Was not a total travesty, but if it was filled with random unheard actors, I would have turned it off in 20 minutes... 5/10

  10. Couple of days ago completed Christopher Paolini's "To Sleep in the Sea of Stars", which is a wholloping 800+ pages science fiction novel about a xenobiologist, who in a planet, which she is chartering, encounters an alien life form, which attaches to her. Unable to control the lifeform, she accidentally kills all of her team-members and then is being hunted down by an army, who wants to do experiments on her. Then, the whole book turns in to a science fiction war book, wherein humanity's forces are attacked by aliens in a form of squids... I guess I liked it more than Dune, but likewise as Dune, I ain't seeing myself rereading this book in any foreseeable future whatsoever. On top of it all, in the end it became a Mass Effect fan fiction.

    Now, I don't know what to read, probably gonna continue with Stephen King books or buy "new" James Clavell's book, which was recently translated to my language.
