Some spoilers for the remaining episodes ‘The Resident’ Spoilers: Conrad/Billie Kiss Aftermath — Missing ‘FBI’ Agent? | TVLinehttps://tvline.com/lists/the-resident-spoilers-conrad-billie-midseason-premiere/ Is there anything you could tease about what’s coming up for The Winchesters‘ Carlos or Lata in the back half of the season? They’ve been such great additions to this universe. –CeCe Showrunner Robbie Thompson tells TVLine, “You’re going to see some potential romance for both of them, and also see them really challenge themselves — particularly Carlos in Episode 8 (airing Jan. 24). We’re really going to dig into his backstory as a musician, and Jojo [Fleites] did an incredible job in that. We’re also going to see Lata expand her abilities within the core four, and what she brings to the table as a hunter, as well, particularly in Episode 10.” Thompson also said that in Episode 8, “Carlos and Lata go on a bit of an adventure together, and we’re going to see them working a case on their own.” I really liked Ada’s son, Tony, and his little flirtation with Latika on The Winchesters. Any chances he’ll be coming back? –Ivan I got your inquiry in front of showrunner Robbie Thompson, who responded, “We love Tony, too! Would love to see more of him as well, and I can at least tease that we will see where that flirtation went in Episode 10,” airing sometime in February. (The Winchesters resumes its freshman run Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 9/8c.)

That announcement was made before the sale of the network and the departure of Pedowitz. With Nextstars ultimatums about licensing fees and the fact that the WB is slashing shows from streaming services any further SPN story isn't a given. Unless J2 and the WB are heavily involved (since SPN is the property of the WB not Chaos) the future is pretty shaky for spinoffs.

And she's kind of a holier than thou about it the entire time. The chemistry between Drake and Meg is just nonexistent. I honestly can't see why John is mooning over her. The rest of the cast seems to be there to explain the script. At least this time they didn't just happen to open up the book, turn to page three and find all the lore they need for a monster they've never seen before. At least this time they did conveniently have a friendly Djinn on hand. Watching a Scooby version of Hunters from the 70's isn't as much fun as it should be. They should have gone straight on parody. I am trying to see what Robbie is going for here but at the moment it's escaping me. I know that key characters are going to show up soon so I hope the story will start to pick up a little more. I also hope to Chuck the giant spiders aren't the Akrida. I hope they are the "Hellhounds" under the command of the greatest evil the Universe has ever known.

The CW is already airing series that skew to 18-39 demo and they are failing miserably. The CEO wants these major studios to pony up more money to air their shows on his network. That isn't likely to happen in this slash and burn climate. Which is why Walker and maybe S&L will maybe get one more season then move to HBOM. The new CW is going to develop their own programming for next season. And from all indications it sounds like evening news programs preceded by half hour adult comedies mixed in with reruns. They aren't going to attract 18-39 demo with Penn and Teller and reruns of Friends, Seinfield etc. The CW has always lost money. Nextstar doesn't really have a great track record of making money either with their other network takeover. In any case all programming on the network will be gone by next season. Like I said the sooner Nextstar announces what shows are going to be cancelled (if they haven't informed the studios already) the better for those shows. They can then regroup and start filming for next season under new parameters. Shorter seasons with tighter content on whatever the studio's streaming service has.

They probably haven't negotiated anything for 2023 yet. With only a "couple" of shows maybe making the roster ad revenue might take a hit anyway. I don't know what kind of game the new CEO is playing but mostly I think he is trying to program the audience for their 2023 lineup and erase everything Pedowitz accomplished. That is why MP left. He knew where the CW was heading and he wanted no part of it.

What would be the point though? They have pretty much said out right that they aren't going forward with shows that cost X amount of dollars. We already know that almost all of the shows currently airing on the CW (at least the successful ones) cost way more that the current owners want to spend. And the WB and CBS are not going to pay this yahoo anything for the rights to air their original programming. The CW is over and the sooner series like TW move on to streaming serivices the better for them. They can get on with scheduling filming and contracts with writers, actors and directors.

I'm going to guess Walker and Superman and Lois will survive. But next season will be the last. The CW Shake-Up: Which ‘Couple’ Shows Will Survive Next TV Season? | TVLine The link isn't embedding for some reason but essentially, they are saying that only a couple of shows "might" survive until next season.

Seems like HBO MAX might not be a viable landing place for series that aren't bringing in the money it costs to make them. I hope everyone is planning a series ending episode. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/warner-bros-discovery-cost-cutting-3-billion-increase-1235421665/#recipient_hashed=28c93646a657ccf9fc7933ccf4021bc9ad7b8c07dc09e6614a26ca96ecd47930&recipient_salt=f4a80e4476eb8af5e75241d313341ce7d8db1ef87ac28b4b882baf284aad8b56

One of the things the new exec mentioned was spending millions for an episode that doesn't even bring in a million viewers with barely a .1 demo. The Winchesters don't come close to a million viewers at .1 in demo and they cannot produce a decent series for under 2 mil (specially with all the COVID protocols in place). Even if production moves back to VC it can't be done any cheaper than the budget they have. It won't be worth the actors or producers ,writers and directors + crew their time to take a massive pay cut. None of the shows will do that. Walker does really well on HBO Max in reruns. I am pretty sure that is where TW, S&L, Walker-verse and AA will eventually end up. WB isn't going to let anyone get the rights to the Supernatural name brand. TW will end up on their streaming service at about 10 eps per season.
