  1. Maybe she feels Dubai is more worthy of her than Kazakhstan, where her husband was previously commuting to. I hear it's very posh, but don't know that such a constricting lifestlye would appeal to her, especially since she dislikes living within the preceived rules of British life. As to Luke Montagu, this has been posted before in other threads, I believe: http://cepuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Times-Magazine-18-July-2015-pdf.pdf He was prescribed unecessary anti-depressants for years and then sleeping pills to counteract their effects. His doctor decided to have him cut out the sleeping pills cold turkey which resulted in withdrawal symptoms that basically permanently disabled him. (At least that's what I got from reading the article... I'm not a doctor or in the medical field.)
  2. I thought Sierra said she was from Baltimore, and there's a pretty well known restaurant here called "The Rusty Scupper", so I'm a bit perplexed as to how she could be mispronouncing the dogs name. She seems nice and well-intentioned, but maybe out of place as a stew on a five star yacht. As for Senor Dickhead, I think he's just an entitled jerk, and being short or cross-eyed doesn't have a lot to do with his behaviour. Instead of talking about how much experience you have, why don't you show it by getting off your ass and doing some hard work. He seems to have millenial special snowflake syndrome (although a lot of the other Below Decker's seem to be of a similar age, he's the only one in this group who is acting like this). And I would have had a similar repsonse as Kate if a coworker told me my hair needed some help. Seems like the Ben/Kate drama was manufactured for the show (although their bickering seems pretty realistic). If you knew a charter was only for two days, wouldn't they plan out all the meals ahead of time down to every last possibility due to space limitations and time to obtain supplies? I assume Ben planned a tapas/more casual meal after the clambake anyway. I'm a mom in charge of meal planning and coooking at my house, and I get pretty pissed off too if something goes awry and the picky kid doesn't like what I made for dinner that night or something else happens to throw things off. Of course, I have a full time job and it's not as a chef , so maybe Ben should tone it down a little bit.
  3. Well, looks like Noelle has found that next mark. She is preggers. http://us.hellomagazine.com/healthandbeauty/mother-and-baby/2016070132198/noelle-reno-pregnant/
  4. My husband went to high school with someone who either works for the casting company or production for the show, and she's posted on Facebook recruiting for charter guests. I believe the discount was 50%. The weekly rates for the Ionian princess depend on the season, from $137k - $181k. Not sure what season they filmed, and how they would prorate the 3 or 4 day trips, but a lot of money appears to be spent. It boggles my mind that anyone would spend that much on a vacation and would subject themselves to cameras and shenanigans of a reality show. But I've never understood the mind-set of famewhores anyway.
  5. I'm finding the whole Erika Jayne act a little forced. If her husband was truly as virile as she claims, I don't know that she would need this outlet for her sexuality. I'm not judging, nothing wrong with what she's doing, I'm just not buying what she's selling.
  6. I don't doubt that Yolanda is sick, because I know she wouldn't miss being at her daughters photoshoots and shows basking in their reflected glory. But where she loses me is where she's always lost me, she's so fucking smug and self-righteous I can't stand it. She truly believes she is a special snowflake with the worst of the worst of leaky implants, lyme, hot flashes, brain fog, parasites, etc. Noone cares about this shit. Seriously. I watched this show to have an escape from my day to day mundane life of financial pressures and dealing with work and family stress. I don't want to see this woman bring every single thing back to Lyme disease. Please Bravo, don't bring her back next year. I read on the daily mail this morning that they'd discovered a new bacteria that causes a more acute infection of Lyme (at least that is my layman's take), and the first thing I thought was that now Yolanda was going to claim she has this bacteria and it's the worst case her doctors have ever seen.
  7. Ryebread, I have to believe that there was nothing untoward in Mauricio's split from Hilton/Hyland, or else I have no doubt there would have been some type of legal action against him. All in all, if the rumors are true and the Rick and Kathy's issue with the Umanskys is a business relationship gone sour, that is really pretty petty of them. I am sure that the core of the Hilton's wealth is from Hilton Hotel money, and not from real estate dealings. I don't think Kyle is perfect, she acted horribly in the beginning towards Brandy (although maybe she had a point, now that I look back), but she seems to be a really good friend. She's stuck by Taylor, Faye Resnick, and probably others who aren't very popular. I'm not really sure whether she did anything to get uninvited to the wedding, but it doesn't really matter to me. Anything that happened between her and Kathy or Mauricio and Rick should have been put aside for the wedding. As many have said here before, she's not the one in the wrong here. She was put in this position by Nicky, or Kathy, or whoever was in charge of the invites. Kyle was in a bad position, and made her choice to go to the wedding. I can't judge her for that, and I don't know what I would do in the same position.
  8. So looks like Marissa and Matt are expecting another little Hermer according to her instagram account. Congratulations!
  9. I love this show and Southern Charm as well, they are both gems. I simply cannot tolerate the screaming bitches of the other housewives franchises. They do not appeal to me at all... no offence to anyone on this board who enjoys them... I definitely feel like we have a very insightful and intelligent commentary on this Ladies of London forum, and that adds to my enjoyment of the show. Caroline F now just irritates me. Ok, so you want to invite Annabelle and Julie to your house to try to work things out between them. Great, that's being a good friend (although weren't you talking shit about Annabelle in Denmark too- why is that ok with Annabelle?). However, then you do not out of the blue confront Julie about your own issue with her, nor do you insert yourself into their disagreement. They are sitting across the table from each other, this isn't the dissolution of a marriage with numerous assets and kids, shut the fuck up and don't be a mediator between them. I think Annabelle's feelings are valid. I guess this is a case of Annabelle being dissapointed by her expectations of Julie. This isn't a criticism, but perhaps she needs to lower her expectations of her friends, and things might not be so hard for her in the future. I really feel for her. It must be terribly lonely and said to pine for a relationship and a time in your life that is never coming back... and I think she's still trying grieving for him and trying to adapt to her new life without Mcqueen and his larger-than-lifer personality. I guess in a way, Julie is probably grieving the change in circumstances in her own life, and maybe Annabelle could try to empathize with her on that point. However, in reading interviews, it seems like Julie and her husband lost a lot of old friends over his illness, and the fact that Annabelle stuck around and was trying to support Julie should have been enough for Julie to make more of an effort than she normally would have. She certainly could have tried to contact Annabelle again before the pool party and try and talk it out again, but doesn't appear she did that. Caroline S is just bitchy. She's the kind of persona who sails through life only thinking of "me, me, me", and karma never seems to come for them. That being said, I kind of admire her ability to just move on from everything and not let things get her down. I think Julie and Annabelle both could take a page from her book in that regard.
  10. For what it's worth, she appears in a lot of instagram pictures with Caroline S, Julie, and Caroline F and Sophie, so looks like there is a real friendship between them.
  11. In the scene in the bus to the castle, I thought Caroline S and F were being extremely manipulative with Julie, but sadly, she's too dumb to realize it, and thought they were praising her for gaining some confidence. Annabelle was acting bizarrely at dinner the night before and during the trip, but she has been a true friend to Julie. It would have been nice for Julie to reciprocate and stick up for Annabelle. As Juliet said, there was an undercurrent of energy between Caroline S and Annabelle, and Caroline was just using Julie to get to Annabelle. I wish Annabelle would have told Caroline S that her head is so far up her own ass it's amazing that she managed to see who was wedged up anyone else's ass. I have no use for Julie. The wide-eyed ingenue act is getting old. Your family owns an estate that is used to film movies in. I just thought all of the gushing over the cast was a little gauche. I think "you have a lovely home" probably would have sufficed, but Caroline F was eating up all the amazement over her family's home. I agree with you BiakBiak, allowing a reality show to film at one of the three visits to your mother's grave in your life kind of lessened the impact the moment had for me. That being said, how terrible to lose a much-loved mother so suddenly and at such a young age. It doesn't appear that we will meet the Baroness's sister. I guess she really isn't a famewhore, like Caroline F is. She doesn't have much of an online presence either. I am glad that Caroline gave her guests the beat down for being late, although I think she was a bit too harsh...I don't think it's very nice for your guests to be forced to come downstairs in pajamas and shoveling their cornflakes in while being yelled at for their rudeness. I truly hope this show is renewed, it is one of my guilty pleasures. I can no longer stomach the screaming antagonism of the housewives shows, and they just seem so low rent compared to this one. I sometimes look at the lades' instagram pictures, and it looks like Caroline F has a truly fantastic 40th birthday party which some of the ladies attend, and included Princess Mary and her husband. I'd really enjoy seeing that.
  12. I think it's more that Marissa told the sister that she didn't like him, rather than she was dating someone younger. I assume everyone in Denmark knows who she is dating. But I don't fault Marissa for being honest with her best friend, but Caroline F. may never really trust her after that. Apparently she met Bendtner when he appeared on her reality show while she was still married to her husband, the husband whose money was funding her family pile's renovation. He was 21, she was 34. I think she's really sensitive about the age issue based on that past relationship. And quite frankly, that kind of age difference is much more significant than a 40 year old woman dating a 30 year old, not just in terms of years, but in terms of maturity level. I can see where her family may question her judgment after leaving her husband and falling into another relationship with someone so young. And then lather, rinse, repeat.
  13. This website has pictures of the younger boyfriend. http://www.seoghoer.dk/nyheder/caroline-fleming-atter-single It looks like the Danish equivalent of the Daily Mail, so take that for what it's worth. I know he probably isn't used to being followed by paparazzi, but he doesn't look that into her in either of those pictures. I don't like to judge just from pictures, however, he does look a little "douchey" as Marissa put it.
  14. Caroline F. has always appeared to be very down to earth, but while she is no longer technically a baroness, she was raised European royalty, and I'm sure that she still gets a lot of deference for that in London and all over Europe. Princess Mary is godmother to her daughters... she's high class (although she does do headstands in formal dress and exposes herself). No one likes being called a cougar or that they like young boys, and especially not someone used to being given the royal treatment. Marissa overstepped her bounds with someone she doesn't know very well. I kind of got the sense that Caroline F. was thinking that Marissa was being a little overly familiar with her. Seems a pretty stupid move for Marissa, who's a social climber and trying to push a new business. However, if you're going to objectify the person you're dating and basically condense him down to a thirty year old with a very big, er, um, heart, then you better be prepared to take the heat.
  15. Sophie's eyes definitely look more tight and less baggy, but her jaw also looks more sculpted and filled out. I'm not judging, I think she looks great now, although definitely groomed and coiffed within an inch or her life. I guess if you've got the time and money, and it suits you, why not. Caroline, however, should go with a more natural look, in my opinion. Her lips are full, and the pink or neutral lipstick she wears gives her a Real Housewives of the OC/porn star/blow-up- doll look.
  16. Sophie wasn't always as put together as she is on the show: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/jayne-blight-and-sophie-mead-briggs-attend-an-event-to-news-photo/93423742 I don't know what work she's had done, or if it is just hair and makeup, but she looks miles better now than she did back in 2009 when this was taken.
  17. First, this episode was pretty boring despite the wipe-the-floor drama. When Juliet went to Caroline and told her that she had told Julie about the argument she had with Caroline, I had a hard time understanding Caroline's reaction. Yes, Juliet should have had to the foresight not to tell a gossip about her argument with Caroline if she was going to make up with her afterwords, but maybe Caroline shouldn't be telling people she was going to wipe the floor with them. Yes, I know your business is failing and you're so stressed and concerned about that that you that you lashed out at Juliet. Then you dropped everything and left your employees high and dry when you couldn't pay the debinture back (or had nothing left after it was paid, don't know the whole story), and went straight to Gstaad or Chamonix or Verbier or wherever the rich people ski with Chloe Greene. Caroline S. is one of the most self-obsessed people I've seen on reality tv, and that's saying a lot. Still feel sorry for Julie. As everyone above has said, Caroline is going to think Julie is even more dim-witted with Julie's groveling after taking back her apology and telling Julie to her face that she wasn't the brains of the JUB operation.
  18. It appears I am obsessed with this show. I find Matt Hermer to be the most intriguing of the husbands, and want to see a little more of him and Marissa. I think their day-to-day lives are probably the most interesting of this group, as they appear to work together in their restaurant business, and Matt actually lives full-time in London. I don't like her as much this time around, she really put me off during the Juliet BFF or F dinner... but if they aren't dealing with housewife-like drama, she's ok. She must have some hidden depths to have landed Matt. I found their wedding pics: http://nycweddingphotographer.com/blog/2010/07/03/matt-and-marissa-at-the-wollfer-estates-vineyard-in-southhampton/
  19. I find all of the men on this show intriguing, especially Matt Hermer, and wish we could see more of them. But it appears that they all have actual high-powered positions and probably aren't available much for filming.
  20. I totally thought that Julie made up HSP, but apparently it's a thing. It has a wikipedia page and there's a book about it and everything. I guess she should either try to develop a tougher skin, or maybe stop hanging out with Caroline if it is emotionally taxing...but it seems Julie needs this gig. Also, I thought doing crazy amounts of exercise was supposed to make you more calm and less prone to depression. I'd hate to see Julie's anxiety level when she isn't cycling all over London and teaching multiple Yoga classes per day. I thought that Caroline showed the first spark of personal insight I've seen in recent memory on a reality show when she admitted that maybe the problem was with her since two people became very upset with her in one evening... and then the next day she takes back her apology to Julie. What an asshole move. But she does bring some funny snark so I guess I'll forgive her. It looks like they had a junior suite at the Hotel Cafe Royal in London (which I think they named in the episode.) The rooms look nicer on the website with the curtains open in the daylight, and it says it's a five star hotel, so I guess it must be much nicer than it appeared on the show.
  21. I thought this was strange as well, because I expected some follow up and nothing came of it. I wonder if it was about humpgate or business or what. I also thought that Gregor and Juliet's room looked like a store room or something with large cinder blocks for walls. We never got a full shot of the room, so I'm not sure how nice the rest was, just looked odd to me.
  22. Well, for what it's worth, i did notice that the Baroness made eye contact and greeted people very warmly when they came into her home, whether she knew them or not. Any show of manners on a reality show is pretty rare.
  23. Thank you for posting this. I read the article, and it sheds new light on Julie's behavior and outbursts on the show. She must be under enormous pressure to keep everything together and trying to help her husband through his medical difficulties.
  24. I find myself very perplexed by Julie. She's been with her husband for a fairly long time. She still acts like she fell off the hay truck from Sugar Grove yesterday. She seems very out of her depth, and I just don't understand how she hasn't acquired even a teensy veneer of sophistication during her marriage. I know some people marry aristocracy and stay grounded, but she just acts like an insecure country bumpkin. She should stop teaching as many yoga classes and biking all over the place and start reading some British chick lit and watching some TV shows like Monarch of the Glen in order to get some ideas on how to market a country estate and profit from it. Her jubblies aren't going to save Mapperton. It also seems like the money troubles have been in the making for a long time. If you are Viscount Hinchingbrooke, why would you sell the estate named for you unless you had to? All these ladies should go see Sophie's hairstylist, whom she names him on her instagram. Or maybe they should just shower at her house, maybe her water is better. Her hair is beautiful, but her sneer and demeanor make her insufferable. I believe it is equally impolite to do a headstand at a formal party as it is to simulate humping your host's husband. Ladies, behave. As far as Julie goes, I think she realized she was taking it too far and just wanted to drop it, especially when it became clear she was going to lose Caroline as a friend too. Was Annabelle a model back in the day? I don't think she was going to introduce Juliet to anyone.. can you imagine Juliet hanging out with Kate Moss or Annabelle's other friends? Although she may have helped Juliet get styling gigs... or maybe not. I love the british pop music also. It reminds me of the halcyon days of the first few seasons of Made in Chelsea before it jumped the shark.
  25. I've read more about Caroline Fleming, apparently her ex was Rory Fleming, Ian Fleming's (of James Bond) nephew and a banking heir. She got a $400 million divorce settlement. In that context, her eccentricity and happy-go-lucky demeanor makes sense.
