  1. Never thought I would, but I loved the crossover. I stopped watching Bones ages ago; nice to see Brennan has evolved slightly. I loved her Ichabbie shipping, and Ichabod's flustered reply. She and Booth fit in pretty well. General Howe and his undead army were a lot of fun, And Pandora is a terrific villain. I'm getting the feeling that her scheme is going to lead up to a betrayal of Crane and/or Jenny by Abbie. I don't get everyone saying Nicole seems tired of her role and wants out; I think we're just seeing a return to early season 1 Abbie Mills. She's tough, driven, career-focused, and again torn between her rise up the law-enforcement ladder and her duty as a witness. Let's not forget that Abbie let her little sister rot in an institution for how many years because she protected herself; in the season premiere, I never got the impression that she was angry at Crane for staying away without any word - I think she was angry he was BACK. I think Pandora will use this to make Abbie abandon Crane in a moment of danger, or maybe even Jenny. Crane had his crisis of duty last season with the Katrina-Henry debacle, I think it's Abbie's turn now. Back to the ep, was I imagining a Star Wars shout-out when Crane, trapped with Brennan and Greek Fire, said, "I have a bad feeling about this"?
  2. He's quite a dish in that movie. I like Ewan MacGregor, but I couldn't understand throwing Mison over for him. At all.I'm a bit concerned they're making Ichabod a bit over the top. Part of Tom's appeal is that he's handsome, elegant, and smart, but can be a goof as well. They went a little heavy on the goof in this ep. Hope it's a one-time thing.
  3. Hey, stranger! Great to see you! What I love about Outlander is the very formal speech patterns they have to use - so much emotion is conveyed, but within the confines of 18th century speech. I've noticed more and more how Sam's Jamie straddles a linguistic/grammatical line between educated man & Highland warrior. There's an entire study in that, I think!
  4. I gave it a try, too, but yours is so much better! That is just a devastating scene - Duncan and Sam conveyed every bit of the heartbreak beautifully, but having and idea of the words makes it even more stunning.
  5. Your friend is Frazer Hines? How very cool! The ORIGINAL Highlander Jamie - and inspiration for this future incarnation. He was terrific - on Doctor Who, and in tonight's episode. I was so pleased they asked him to play a role.ETA: A bit late to the party! Just saw so many others noticed too. Awesome.
  6. Terrific episode, even with the interruption of Danny's superfluous B story. Honestly, this was the producers shoehorning Scott in at its worst. Chi has been such a great addition to the cast - charisma, power, and real acting chops. He makes everyone around him bring their A game, and they deliver.
  7. I would love to have Caan's work situation - even before his partner had a baby, the show runners bent over backwards to accommodate his dislike of the islands. I just can't understand how he has that kind of clout. No offense to him, but he was a supporting player on Entourage, and his biggest film cred was Banana #8-ish in the Ocean's 11 films. I don't want to think it's as simple as Lucky Sperm Club membership. The episodes don't miss him. Odell is a lot of fun; Lou Grover can provide the "cargument" sass, and Chin Ho is a compelling character in his own right. Let Danno go - I'm not buying the great McDanno bromance anymore. Interesting, dark ep last night. I'm not saying anyone is a master thespian on H50, but I think Alex sold that final scene very well.
  8. KatWay, I don't know if the quality has diminished, but I do agree with your comment. I actually find I enjoy the Danny-free or -lite episodes more. I feel that Scott Caan's feelings regarding shooting the show so far from his home are seeping into his work - he seems kind of disinterested and listless to me.
  9. Amazing ep, although I missed Ichabod a lot, and just can't warm up to Hawley. Abbie, Jennie, and Irving were fantastic - so great to see them back on the front burner. Am I the only person who thinks Irving's escape is just a wee bit suspicious? "Oh, I snuck out in all the confusion." I don't buy it - I think Moloch let him escape, and he will be forced to work against the team from within
  10. My sentiments, exactly! It was batshit bonkers, but the action was spectacular, the scenery was beautiful as ever, and I really got a sense of that Ohana McGarrett mentioned in the opening. Lots of fun, and a great Friday night wind-down.
  11. When I went to Culloden some 30-odd years ago, it was raining. I have never felt so cold in my life, and to this day I wonder if the weather was the only factor. Such a sad, sad place.
  12. Just doing a bit of lurking, when, to my delight, I found this thread! Chris Eccleston is my favorite Doctor (Baker and Pertwee my favorite classics), and it's so great to see Nine get some love - he's perpetually overlooked by not only fans, but by BBC America as well!
