Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. And after not one scream in 801, already two in the first 15ish minutes of 802? Shh, you're asking the Qs that not one writer bothered to think of.
-
Diggle: "You explain. I'm not going to even bother trying." AND OH MY GOD I REALLY CAN'T STAND HEARING THE WORD "CRISIS" ANYMORE. And it's only episode 2.

I can buy that Laurel may be upset that she was just getting her life back ... if Arrow had bothered to show us her wanting to return to E2 at any point before she did at the end of 718. She could have easily gone back between S6 and S7 and never seemed to want to/seemed happy to be living E1 LL's life. I blame that on the writing.

But did Oliver really intervene to save Laurel? She practically had one foot in the breach. Did the Monitor expect him to shove Laurel aside?

Yep. It deserves one too, considering how much of the season is about Crisis, one of the 10 episodes is Crisis, and the penultimate episode is the backdoor pilot for the spinoff and Oliver’s not in it. -

Yeah, I feel like he’s probably overselling it? I just don’t get why it’s a big deal that he didn’t let her get wiped from existence? Especially since it’s not like she was clamoring to stay or anything. She wanted to leave with them. -

I think the problem is they can’t seem to write a BC on her own for her own show (that spinoff is clearly never going to happen), and rather than have BC off on her own, doing her own thing (sort of like Laurel on E2 in 801, minus Chase) and maybe occasionally popping up in the spinoff, they write BCs in a way that they do need GA/a team. Just look at the Canary Network in the future — even an entire network of Canaries couldn’t get the job done. And I blame that entirely on the writing. IMO, the spinoff should’ve been the future team, with a Canary or two or whatever off in another city, protecting it, and occasionally showing up (recurring, not series regular) to team up with Mia, Connor, William, and Zoe. BC could’ve stood on her own then, and even been a time-displaced/COIE-related reason LL and/or DD, not staying in SC full time. -

Same. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they do have her care, simply because now that she’s a “hero,” they think she should? Although it would make more sense for her to care in the sense of “I just returned and could have built a life/rebuilt relationships/etc. and won’t have the chance to do that now.” That would actually be better/more interesting to play with her since her relationships with E1 characters are supposedly more important given what they want us to think of her this season/last season/the potential spinoff. But, yeah, I hope there’s only one or two conversations about it. But did she even do that? I feel like the show wants us to forget all the evil she did prior to the “hesitation” she showed when she killed Vince. -
I just hope they don’t try to develop a Laurel/Diggle friendship again like they did in S4.

Is it just me or was Felicity in that 802 promo more than she was in some promos when EBR was on the show? -
Enjoyed the callbacks. Enjoyed seeing Moira and Tommy again. Liked seeing Tommy as the Dark Archer since we never got that with E1 Tommy. Liked the Walter mention, but I've come to accept we're never going to see him again. (Which is just as well; I really wanted to get another Walter/Felicity scene, which obviously won't happen.) Enjoyed seeing Chase as E2's Hood — but did we ever hear anything about Robert as E2 Hood considering that was established on The Flash? LOVED that Chase was the one to call Laurel "pretty bird" (because Oliver — any Oliver — would never) but couldn't help but think that the Black Siren of two seasons ago probably would've killed him just for that. The fake Felicity scene was okay, and I do love any time Oliver mentions a red pen, but I didn't love it like I'm sure they wanted Olicity fans to. Enjoyed the Oliver/Diggle scenes, though I'm annoyed that the Felicity/Diggle stuff is the same when she's off the show as when she was on it: off-screen. Also, gotta love how they were so happy to move on from Diggle's abandonment of Oliver/Felicity/their family last season and pretend that didn't happen. Is it wrong that I'm most worried about Harry's fate out of any of the E2 characters we've ever met across the Arrowverse shows? He's the one we've gotten to know the most (on The Flash) and I did enjoy his brief interactions with Felicity. I hope he was on another Earth!

I love Josh Segarra so much that I just want to see him in whatever role. Also, give me more JS/SA scenes and I'm happy.
-
Oliver's like, "that was easy. I came up with three new recipes while I was jumping in the air."
-
Did Laurel ever say anything about E2 Thea? Maybe back at the end of S5 or first half of S6? Or am I misremembering?
-
"Mom" "our parents" It's such a shame we didn't get more Oliver/Felicity/William family moments. Especially a shame we didn't get any Oliver/Felicity/William/Mia scenes.
-
Every time Colin Donnell returns to Arrow, I'm reminded of how much I wish Tommy hadn't died in Season 1 because there was so much potential and imagine if we'd gotten CD on a weekly basis for more than one season?
-
Aww, I love William here. And Mia checking on her brother.
-
Felicity/Diggle conversations happening off-screen. Makes sense this season, but I hate that it just reminds me that that happened a lot the past few seasons too ... when EBR was still on the show. "You never, never have to ask. ... Except when I abandoned you, Felicity, and William last year. But we're pretending that didn't happen."
-
Diggle! And our Diggle! I feel like he really enjoyed one-upping Oliver there.
-
Poor Oliver. IT employees: "Did you hear Oliver visited today and was wandering around, muttering about red pens? Must've lost his mind on the island." "Yeah, I saw him digging in the supply closet for one."
-
Honestly, I'm over Malcolm, but I do love seeing John Barrowman on my screen.
-
Why do I recognize this pro-vigilante guy?

Is it wrong that I really like that Chase is the one to call Laurel "pretty bird"? And for the obvious reason, of course.
