  1. Oh no Tim, it's not cohesive at all. but it walked well.
  2. Shoe-gate!! True, and of course we have all those dummy collections.....not just the finalists...
  3. huh? editing is weird. Amanda's gals are lined up and Char still has clothes on hangers?
  4. I wouldn't at this stage. I love the book but then I'm a PD James fan from way back...never been an Austen fan but this book made me go read the original story! I'm prepared to judge the movie as a separate entity to the book. I'm a bit perplexed at the casting choices to be honest but will reserve judgment till I've seen it.
  5. I'm with Padma. I thought it looked incredibly unappetising!
  6. I liked the premise of the pagent. Anything that gets kids looking at the bigger world is a good thing. And I thought the three girls did great, especially Addison being 'out of the box' on the traditional costume: what might have worked better was to start off in a kimono, then do a reveal to the modern outfit.
  7. The Jim Parsons character replaced Bruce while he was going through the legal battle about attacking someone in the courthouse hallways ('victim' was a complete jerk). Bruce came back after being exonerated.
  8. I thought the "interaction" with Victoria was funny and interesting -- It was a bit scripted obviously but interesting to bring up different types of competition. And I was a little weirded out at how much Victoria and the freeze girl looked like sisters!
  9. I just really love her goal of letting girls discover themselves. She's so genuinely happy for their achievements, it's joyful. We need so much more of this attitude.
  10. Henry is not claiming to be American. In fact, I don't think he's claimed any particular nationality. Remember his response to questions about his knowledge base is "Guam". And NY is a city full of people from everywhere so why assume NY=American accent (and would that be Bostonian, east coast??) Be grateful he is using an English account vs his native Welsh!!! And BTW, Americans associate British (aka English) accents with intelligence (generalization) so having Henry have his accent builds on that. Just consider the number of commercials that continue to use an English-accented voice to sell stuff.
  11. I think I've figured out Alexander's mouth issue: his teeth are too big for his mouth! I was re-watching and at the end when he was whimpering about Char, it struck me that his teeth were just all wrong for his mouth/head. Anyway, despite his assertions otherwise, his outfit(s) were just so wrong and I felt his volunteer/model was poorly served. I personally didn't care for her black eyebrows/bleached hair look but she deserved a decent outfit.
  12. At least it was a level playing field: they had only themselves to blame for their choice of models vs having models foisted on them. i also thought it was less interesting that they chose thin-ish, tall-ish models but I can't blame them.
  13. Did Alexander deserve to go home. HELL YES!!! That really was Hideous #2 in one challenge. The "Do you agree with Judges" voting was obviously the same stupid group of people who are voting Fan Fave each week. I liked Korina's outfit but I cannot believe NOONE commented on those incredibly badly placed short/upcuts front and back on the dress. Ugh -- why did she do that? They were totally bad-taste IMO. And I'm sorry, when she took off the jacket, the top of the dress was a bit of a mess fit-wise. Jeez, Korina had a pro ballet dancer -- they don't come much skinnier/no curves than that, and she still couldn't get the fit right. As much as I don't get Emily's aesthetic (not into goth), I did think Emily had it nailed this week: Beautifully made, fitted well, and her client just loved it (and rocked it) I didn't get the Kini love, other than he's a master class in sewing. I didn't like the outfit at all, and I didn't think it was all that flattering: it certainly wasn't a one-of-a-kind wow outfit. Have to say I did like Sean's outfit and thought his client looked fabulous. I'm sorry we didn't get to see more of it.
  14. He had gloves on and what appeared to be a hood of some sort. And count me in on the "first" as the interpretation of the Adam reference.
  15. Not intentionally. But I'm sure we've all had those moments where we stop and think "omg, I sound just like my mother!" Both Amy and Maxine have dysfunctional relationships with people --- is that nature or nurture??
  16. the UP channel has this one every day, two episodes at a time. It's on a continuous cycle so it finishes then starts from the beginning again. I enjoyed this show when it first aired and came back to it when UP started to air it. I find it fairly compelling viewing, for the issues discussed, and the juxtaposition of how "wise" Amy is in the courtroom compared to how messed up she is in her personal life. Love love Maxine (you can see where Amy's disfunction comes from in her character), Vincent, Bruce, and Donna. I have a hard time with Gillian (I knew someone just like her, annoying as heck), Peter grows on me with re-watching episodes. And I liked Kyle but not at the loss of Vincent.
  17. Ioan Gruffudd= Yoan Griffuth. Anyone who watched Torchwood knows Ianto Jones was pronounced Yanto.
  18. THIS -- a million times!! And as a general comment, the reason I would go to a food truck is to get good food CHEAP: there's no way in hell I'd pay these prices.
  19. OK, I'll start this. I love Hathaway! He provides the flip side of the Morse/Lewis partnership: now it's Lewis/Hathaway with Hathaway providing the intellectual role. I also love that he's a member of the Fox acting dynasty which has been well represented in this program: Uncle Edward, and Cousin Freddie to name two. One of my favorite moments of Hathaway (and there are many) was when he bowed to the gardener in the Botanical Gardens in the episode "The Soul of Genius" aka The Hunting of the Snark (Series 6) --- it really seemed like such an unconscious act, and not at all scripted. The biggest surprise is that Laurence is married to Billie Piper (Dr Who 9 and 10).
  20. Yeah, but this was done by robots (extra wow factor) and left less to chance. Similar but not the same.
  21. The first episode I've enjoyed in quite a while (maybe this season?). Lots of great looks. Some were derivative but good to see again. -- speaking of which, I wish Kini had used a brighter color (or colors) -- cobalt blue springs to mind --- it would have been more impactful. I love Sean's idea but wish the dress had been a little more innovative in terms of shape BUT the waterproof crinolene was ingenious! Having said that, I can see a line of one-time-wear-for-impact then wear-other-time outfits for someone to purchase and wear!. Very happy that he, and Kini (yay), won. If ever there was a neoprene challenge, eh? ;)
  22. Yeah, I agree, and the inability to put a BACK in anything -- huh??? People complain about unwearable fashion yet they aren't complaining about these outfits that are totally unwearable by anyone over the age of 20 or any day where the temp is below 85. And don't get me started on the slutty short short skirts.
  23. How did Amanda win that with an incredibly unoriginal ugly dress????? That was Mr Hawaiian's (Kini) to win IMO. I give up, judges. I'm glad Sean was safe -- that was a mess but I think he has so much more to show. Hernan: grow up -- that decision I had no problem with..
  24. Now if we could only get BBC America to pick it up (along with any other show that is NOT Top Gear or Kitchen Nightmares) life would be good.
  25. Not to mention the first thing I ever saw him in -- "I Claudius" -- an incredible performance that stands the test of time (it was also the first program where I saw Patrick Stewart, as the ambitious Sejanus, and John Hurt as Caligula)
