  1. That's interesting. We're having terrible thunderstorms and have lost power several times. I hope it doesn't get in the way of watching Doctor Who tonight. Just put a bazillion fresh D batteries in the lanterns. ..refusing to click the tempting spoiler button..
  2. That's wonderful news Erratic! I will continue sending all the good vibes I have to you.
  3. With the drowning in paperwork comment, I thought perhaps adoption.
  4. Only one thing sprang to mind and I don't want to be way off base because I don't know you as well as everyone else. So everyone start guessing!
  5. Thanks for posting that. I procrastinated with Inspector Lewis and missed seeing them.
  6. That was probably very distracting buffyjunkie at a difficult time no less. Yes, but that won't be enough to keep me from watching Gracepoint. I already watched Broadchurch and had no intention of watching the US version until I found out that he was in it. Happy Friday and weekend to all!
  7. And why aren't any in my area?
  8. I'm hoping when I watch that I find that part of the charm. Similar to the original Dark Shadows. That was recorded live so there are a lot of mistakes and you can even see the string holding the bat in some scenes. Back in the day, I was somewhat obsessed with that show. Speedy hot water heater repair vibes to Earl. Hopefully the parts are readily available. That was brutal. I was unhappy with that but it didn't anger me to the point that I stopped watching. I was more sad than anything. I actually prefer some of those stories to the new ones because there were actual consequences. That story is too funny, Barphe. Maybe you could just mumble an Allons-y the next time he's around and see if there's any reaction. Thanks for the vibes. Today is going a bit better. I even managed to break away for lunch.
  9. One of these days I'll get around to watching classic Who. A lot, but not all, are on Netflix.I'd like to know the history of the show better. I'm hoping today will be a little calmer at work. I have a lot to catch up on.
  10. When I looked it up today, I read that it was canceled mid-season but the remaining eps were aired. I hope it doesn't end on a cliffhanger if you watch trudi-tru.
  11. Good traveling vibes Valny! I have very little sense of direction and am always a bit nervous when traveling somewhere I haven't been before. I had to take a short trip for work a couple of years ago. It was only about a 4-hour drive, but I took a back-up GPS in case mine broke. Have you watched classic Who Erratic? I haven't watched more than an ep or two. I guess the age difference between the Doctor and companions was larger back then.
  12. You can sense that can't you? It's a fun show. You should give it a chance sometime. Throw it in the Netflix queue and try it from the beginning of the 2005 reboot. But trudi-tru was asking about the Gillian Anderson show - Crisis. I'm in total procrastination mode today. I'm rarely online during the day.
  13. It is, but by the end of the first ep, I saw him as the Doctor. I like him a lot. Now I'm not thrilled with some of the writing and direction the show has taken over the past couple of years and there were things I definitely didn't like in the first 2 eps, but I won't go into detail here. I'd like to see what a new showrunner could do with the series. That kind of sucks LnB. 7 months? I'm sorry but I did laugh a little at the senior citizen story. Any way of finding out who she should contact? If she calls again, you'll be ready. I'm hoping this week doesn't feel extra long at work. Seems like when it's a shortened week, it drags.
  14. Hadn't heard of this. KPC - Did you get caught up on Doctor Who? What did you think? Anyone else watching?
  15. Glad to hear Chynette's friend is home and doing better. Is this a short-term assignment Dusky or will you be working with her indefinitely? Also, is this something she does with everyone? Is it possible she's not even aware she's doing it or actually thinks she's being helpful? I would go with trying your best not to give her any type of reaction. If you're going to have to work with her long term though, you may need to address it directly. A short conversation may clear it up. The U.S. Open sounds fun. Glad you had a good time KPC. While not at all a sports fan, that is something I think I would enjoy. Glad Mr. F's grandmother is doing so well.
  16. I need to rewatch because I missed a bit of the dialogue, but my first impression was that I didn't like it. I like Capaldi so far - no problem there. The story just felt all over the place. I've actually been laughing a bit more these past two eps than I have in a long time. I liked the humor in the first ep and find 12's reactions pretty amusing. Same thought ran through my mind after watching the tour special. This is interesting. I like this theory. Although, that scares me for whatever lesson the Doctor is going to have to learn at the end of this season and what message we'll be bludgeoned with. That scene annoyed me greatly. The slap was ridiculous and I'm tired of this trend with Moffat that the companions are smarter than the Doctor and, more times than not, come up with the solution. It seems to me that this has been happening for quite some time and I'm not a fan of it. I want the Doctor to be the smartest person in the room. I want him to save the day. I have no problem with the companion coming up with the solution now and again or helping the Doctor get to that solution, but the way things were handled in this ep was over the top. Unfortunately, I don't think this will change anytime soon as one of the specials had an interview with Moffat where he said it's the companion's journey we're watching not the Doctor's - it's their story. He said in a way the Doctor is their companion and the companion isn't important to Doctor Who, but the companion is Doctor Who. I think that explains a lot of my issues with the focus of the past few seasons. I thought this made no sense after last week's plea from the Doctor that he was scared and needed Clara to stay with him.
  17. Vibes to Chynette's friend and continuing vibes to Barphe and all who need them.
  18. Hang in there Barphe. You're dealing with an enormous amount of pressure. Vent and complain if it helps. I hope you have or can get a support system in place to help you through this. Welcome back KPC.
  19. Oh, I did. (It's a habit from TwoP that I can't seem to break.) And, I did see this: But it seemed like there should have been something before it I was missing. Not that important. I hope today is quiet at work and the day goes fast. I really need the long weekend. Happy Friday!
  20. Good point. I watched the 2nd ep last night and, while I was tired and a bit preoccupied, I didn't pick up on that. The show isn't impressing me, but I'm sticking around to see where it goes and hope it gets better along the way.
  21. I was but I just thought it was me. What is this a callback/reference to?
  22. Some people just don't get the hint buffyjunkie. You have to be direct. I've done close to the same thing when a salesperson has pestered me too much. I agree with everyone here, Harvester. Not a mean person at all. It can be satisfying to see someone get what's coming to them. How's the job going otherwise? Yes AnnieF - you did what you could. Stop feeling guilty. And I'll admit you are a far better person than me. Glad things are improving Anne. I don't think The Good Wife is my type of show either, but I've been thinking about watching because so many people keep saying it's great. I am absolutely looking forward to the weekend. It cannot get here soon enough. This has been the work week from hell and every day it keeps getting worse. I am just wrapping up for the day and am exhausted.
  23. I'm with you on the pants Erratic.
  24. I haven't watched the second ep yet. It seems to me that they were definitely trying to raise a lot of questions and get everyone to come back to watch for the answers but may have gone a bit too far for some viewers. As it's only 8 eps, I think I'll end up watching them all unless it's absolutely terrible at some point.
  25. Ah, ok. I'll have to look up the complete list. Overall, I thought the Emmys were good. Not too drawn out, no real disasters but nothing terribly funny either. The last clip they showed in the Robin Williams tribute did get to me. I remember watching and loving that special.
