Upon hearing of Leonard Cohen's death, which was sad, I remembered that I can't stand "Hallelujah."  My favorite songs of his were "I'm Your Man" and "Suzanne."

I'm a longtime fan of "All My Children", and to me, "Suzanne" is the iconic song of early, early, early teen couple Philip and Tara.  I think of that every time I hear it.

  2. I had Sprint when they first broke up Ma Bell, and every month I got a bill saying that they were charging me a late fee because I hadn't paid the total bill from the previous month, even though I had paid what they were billing me for.  After that happened like three months in a row, I dumped their asses and vowed never to go back.

Personally I pretty much always carried a pocket knife growing up, in the Army, and up until I stopped working. IIRC Cub Scouts are allowed to start carrying a Boy Scout Knife once they pass safety classes and earn a merit badge, but have to be 8 or 9. After getting the badge, their right to carry their knife can be revoked if caught doing something unsafe, and they have to retake the safety class. Anyway, by the time I was in fourth grade about half the boys I knew had pocket knives, and almost everyone had them in junior high and high school... and I mean in their pockets at school... and nobody was stabbed.

I stopped carrying mine after my favorite Swiss Army knife was confiscated and they wouldn't give it back to me after going to a concert.

  4. The cloak was my favorite character.  Loved the special effects, and I thought the closing credits were beautiful.  And now we know how "Baron" Mordo became evil.

So Cumberbatch and Hiddleston will both be in the new Thor movie.

  5. I don't understand what Kim is telling Brady, and why she even called him.

I am so glad JJ said "you've done a complete 180", because people tend to say "complete 360", which just gets you back to where you started from.  :)

That JJ and Theresa scene was really good.

It's kind of silly to see what we clearly know is Abigail just from the back of her head and her hands, when it's a totally different actress whom we won't recognize, anyway.

Victor is helping Theresa just by being himself.

Theresa is in church and Brady just walks out, does nobody think to check on Tate?

Wow, Jade, you are such a bitch. I knew she was going to be pregnant.

Oh, good, Theresa.  Booze and pills and coke.

Sure a lot of revelations today.

Little Thomas was sure having a lot of trouble breathing there at the end.

I think the 80s and 90s were better for teen (and children's, especially children's) movies. I rewatched Clueless last night and basically chuckled for two hours. Silverstone is so charming and had great timing with her line deliveries (and I still think some of her outfits are really cute).

I can't believe that Edge of Seventeen is a "teen movie" but it's rated R.

I feel like if that had a good script they would have gotten better actors than DaneDehaan (I like him, but he's def nowhere near A-list) and Cara Delevigne (I like her too, but I don't think she's a very good actress).

Besson has been more miss than hit lately. And I'm a bit mad they kept the the male hero Valerian in the title but left out his female, equally prominent partner Laureline, since the French graphic novel is actually called Valerian and Laureline.

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher weren't exactly household names when the first Star Wars movie came out.

    ASHANTI!

    But... No "Schuyler Sisters"?

Yeah, the cheese factor's a little high on this one.  The sappy music, the panning over her torso, the slow-mo walks, the many grins.

Apparently there's a nail salon at the resort.  That's nice!  The Cambodia players didn't even have a/c, I don't think.

It looked like she was doing her own nails.
