  1. Reform Judaism is basically a watered-down version of Orthodox Judaism with rules bent and twisted around to appeal to modern people. By the Torah, Ari is not considered Jewish, and if she were to ever move to Israel, she would have to undergo a conversion to be considered Jewish, regardless of how she identifies herself as. However, her having a Jewish father would make the conversion easier and quicker. She does look kind of "out of it" most of the time. Maybe anti anxiety pills ?
  2. A typical 4 year old should not be running out into the street. That is typical of a 2 year old. I hate being an outlier, Kenneth and Armando are sweet but bordering corny. And the age difference is off putting, as with any other couple. ESPECIALLY since to me, Armando looks teenager-ish. Also, Kenneth LEERS a lot around Armando, which is a little icky because, again, Armando looks so young. Also, Im sick of Deavan and her self-righteous tear filled eyes. She will likely accumulate another child by a different man within 3 years, given her history. Im tired of Melyza. Why, in the world, does she announce to her parents about Tim cheating ? They will never forgive him, even if she does. Marital problems should not be vented to family members, ever. (unless there is abuse). Tim pleasantly surprised me. He looks like a blockhead but speaks Spanish nicely for an Iowa dude who calls himself Cheestick. If a partner cheats, the other person has 2 reasonable options. Dump him, or stay and forgive and continue. Both are hard options. Melysa is choosing to stay w him, but keep a perennial sour face at all times and be, overall, bitchy. Good times ahead. Im a little dumbfounded at this storyline, however. In many parts of the world, it is common for men to cheat on their wives and have sidechicks. Of course it is wrong on every level, and its not open, but I will take a wild guess that in Colombia, men would look at Tim's anguish and remorse over cheating on his (long distance girlfriend) and say he is a "p*ssy".
  3. Yes - regardless of the history of how a language reaches a place (which is not my point), or whether it has official status or not (also not my point), my Nigerian co workers English is very precise and well spoken, better than mine and she has been in the US far less than I have been. She simply told me that she learned it from a young age at school and was able to interchange it with her other language(s) that she spoke while in Nigeria. And so, her English is not poorly accented, however Usman (in this case) speaks English is heavily influenced by British English. In addition, I have met some other people from the African continent who speak English more properly than American born people.
  4. Is she really supposed to be 27? She looks.like a very attractive 40 y/o
  5. Hmm. Well I have a coworker from Nigeria who grew up speaking both English and another language; English was taught at school and used in varying degrees. Her English is.not the American dialect as they were just taught a diff accent than the one spoken in the US. Im guessing that in small villages it is less commonly spoken.
  6. I believe Ash is a native English speaker, as is Usman, in addition to other languages and speaking a dialect different than American English. Usman once copied Lisa's English hilariously
  7. It looked like cheap hair dye to me. Plus, the brother had fair hair. Its not unusual in Russia for a blonde or light brunette to dye their hair icy black. I agree. I wish she would have disclosed a hint that her girlfriend had been a similar age.
  8. That was more along the lines of what I meant - pursuing something internationally would be a waste of time, money, and energy. Unless, you live in an impoverished country and are trying to improve your station in life. Of course, everyone wants love, and a partner. But so often what we see on the show, the people pursuing relationships, who also have very young kids (and not just female participants) have so many areas of their lives that need further stability. But, what kind of disgusted me, was that Avery even considered a relationship with a man KNOWING that marrying him would result in his son being forced to say goodbye to one of his parents. Ash is just a smooth talking player looking for international gratification.
  9. Ash's plan the entire time was to have a fling with a cute American woman. He pretended that he wanted a relationship with her but like Jesse said, "Its all illusion." Avery flew 12000 miles for this guy, took time off work, technically, its not wrong, but I dont think a single mother of a toddler should spend her valuable resources (time, vacation days) on an intl trip to try to make another "relationship" with a guy who clearly, obviously, will never move to the US.
  10. ...and apparantly still cant ask "where is the bathroom" in Russian.
  11. Probably. I also think that Avery, does.NOT need to put herself into another "relationship" at this time. Relationships are not something you can add on your job resume. She should probably focus on her kids, her job, her hobbies, saving money, for the time being. Romantic relationships are expensive, time consuming, and sometimes culminate in an unexpected pregnancy, when youve already got young kids to care for. Whats the rush ?
  12. I was just curious, what would make.you assume her son was likely the product of rape ? Unless she hinted at it, I wouldnt really speculate one way or the other, just like there are plenty of teen moms here in the US, particularly in rural, poverty stricken areas.
  13. I highly doubt Rose wants more children - at least with Ed. Shes probably been harping about kids to make herself seem more authentically into him, and is acting all disappointed that he doesnt want more kids. I see her doing the K1, coming to the US, then leaving him stat when her 2 years or whatever long it takes her to get the GC comes, finding friends here and creating a life for herself and Prince on her own. But I see Ed withholding on doing paperwork for her as a sort of power control thing to convince himself the marriage is not transactional. Ed goes back to Phillipines to seek another K1 bride, rinse, repeat.
  14. I am curious if Ash serves as that friend you call who will give you personalized no BS advice when you need guy help. The one who doesnt sugarcoat things, who will tell you that yes, you should wear a different outfit for tonights date, you need to do some pilates planks, dont go to his home for abdate eciphers his text messages for you, etc.
  15. So awkward that Ed first brought up his issue right before the food was served, then said they should eat first, then talk about the problem..... he is very awkward socially with women. Ashs seminar was not well recieved bc he basically told a bunch of women that they are inferior to men, instead of giving them practical relationship advice. Nothing from that seminar provided useful information to these women. I think what he said spoke the truth, in a way, but was just not presented well.
  16. I think that while Ash was ill prepared, was obviously flubbing and winging it, he brought up some good points, but with a bad presentation, by making the women (his attendees) feel like they are somehow dumber than men. What he stated about there needing to be a difference in energies in order to create passion (masc vs fem energy) rang true though.
  17. David did mention video chatting with her thru the site, but without audio or something like that. If Lana is the one behind the screen here, then she IS largely responsible for this. It is definitely not some woman getting stalked by a stranger, she encourages him nonstop for the sake of greed. No one "deserves" a stalker, but - she should DEFINITELY not be surprised at such an outcome, since David is clearly not right in the head. If she wants to keep the $2.99 per minute, she can say ,"No, we cant meet up, but I can continue to talk on the site if you like."
  18. My only guess, is that for Russians an even number of flowers is given at funerals.
  19. Hmm. I went thru visa process as well, no extra questions, or suspicion arose. I also know of plenty of couples who have done it, where there were major age differences, couples who had divorced their real spouses very recebtly prior to the visa process, all accepted. However, showing the same religious background is a big help if the fiance comes from a country with a strong emphasis on religion.
  20. She does seem intelligent, witty, attractive, fit smart. But I would take a guess that there are a lot of David types on those international dating sites. I recently spoke with a 31 year old friend of mine who works as a cashier at a "boutique" (TJ Maxx), similarly attractive like Varya, her husband is 58 year old college prpfessor
  21. All of these statements are true. In Russia, Varya would have a difficult time getting herself married. Over there, her age would definitely be considered "old maid" territory, plus, there are wayyyy too many gorgeous young women there. I think Varya is cute, but she is a dime a dozen there. Russian men do tend to cheat like its their job, they also tend to die young. Thats why you see all that mail order bride phenomenon from Russia/Ukraine.
  22. I would guess that she is a tech who helps with basic patient care, like toileting, bathing, feeding. I think she mentioned the word "caregiver" once. Usman could have referred to her as a nurse, even though that is likely not what she is, but its closer than "doctor".
  23. Im sorry about the loss of your mom. Im so glad she had amazing hospice nurse. I think in my post, I accidently blurred together hospice with skilled nursing facilities.
  24. There are definitely lots of compassionate hospice / CNAs in nursing homes, but unfortunately, because of low wages and high patient to staff ratio, its easy to become hardened and indifferent to patient needs. I spent a couple years travelling the country, working in nursing homes on short term contracts (not as a CNA) and honestly, it was very sad seeing the majority of the elderly residents waiting long increments of time to get someone to take them to the restroom, or other basic needs. Many smelled like urine, had bedsores. When I ran to grab a CNA to inform them their resident needed something, I was often met with rolled eyes, to which I started doing things myself for the residents or just stopping by to give them company when I had time. The CNAs are worked like horses, stepping out to take cigarette breaks when they can, and generally grow a thicker skin. I could see Angela and Lisa as hospice/CNAs. Angela at least has a sense of humor and may be friendlier/entertaining to patients.
