A couple of seasons back, a certain controversial political figure was unmasked, and one of the judges walked out. The identity was revealed before the season premiere, and a lot of people were pretty much dreading the moment when they were finally unmasked on the show. And any further discussion of the matter kinda skirts the line of political discussion, so I'm just gonna leave it there....

I was gonna guess Nathan Lane after the clue package, but after hearing him sing, and after the judges' guesses... yeah, The Gnome is Hoffman.

As I recall, it was considered creepy but not career-killing at the time, because they were both adults when the news came out, and the concept of "grooming" wasn't really prevalent back then.
