  1. I forgot to mention that I thought Jennifer looked gorgeous at the reunion. She looked fit and toned and her makeup was great. JMO but I think dresses with simper lines, like Jennifer's, Cameran's and Naomie's, flatter more women than fussy messes like Kathryn's.
  2. Hon, you won't find me "rising above." If I couldn't come here to snark on the fools on this show, I'd be kicking the dog, or my husband. :)
  3. Ha!! I thought the same thing. Or a floral bed sheet with a hole cut in it for her head.
  4. There were SO many hot messes last night: that fugliest of fugly sets, the wide lapels on Craig's jacket, that fussy, flouncy dress on Kathryn that looked as if it was trying to devour her, Kathryn's hair... and lest I forget, Shep. Let's see, twelve drinks a day, plus being a mean drunk, plus feeling all-around unhappy (he's said) and being nasty to people? He needs therapy, and I mean that seriously. Go to any seaside town in the US and you'll see rich, dissatisfied drunks just like Shep propping up bars everywhere. They're so depressing, both the bars and the people. I liked the color of Kathryn's hair but the ends looked like rats had been chewing on them. I don't know why she or her stylist always parts her hair in that weird way; maybe it's to hide that giant melon of a forehead. Jennifer redeemed the reunion for me, for being so poised yet not giving any ground to Kathryn, that delusional freak. Accepting a hankie from Thomas was evidence of "shifting loyalty?" Geez, she really CAN'T see beyond the end of her nose. Interesting that Kathryn never mentions her parents when she talks about her support system.
  5. My mother-in-law discovered the wonders of enchiladas just a couple of years ago. She had her first bagel & lox last year. That seems crazy, I know, but there are people who aren't very experienced food-wise. It always takes me aback a little. As I mentioned earlier, that curry didn't look hugely authentic to me, but more like a ladies-who-lunch variety, so maybe ol' Pat did have her first-ever curry during her trip to India. Or maybe she thought that some of her guests might never have had curry, so she was just being nice in instructing them. Meh, food trends change so quickly. I eat things my mom never will and vice versa. So I'll give Pat credit for being enthusiastic about something new. I'll keep rolling my eyes at her fugly dog caftans, though, although I really want one with Whitney's face on it now. (hangs head)
  6. I love seeing Patricia's dinners too. The chicken curry looked like something I had at an old-fashioned cafeteria once in the South: basically creamed chicken with a bit of curry powder added; nothing terribly spicy or authentic, but delicious. I love that Patricia takes so much trouble to make a lovely evening for her guests. ... and having written that, maybe I'm turning into a prissy old prude but I think that Craig, Cameran and Shep owe Patricia apologies for behaving like that. Hey, Craig and Shep could even be gentlemen and say it with flowers. :) Not just for dropping F-bombs when asked not to, but for starting a shouting match. And when your hostess says, "I disagree," you sit up and listen and don't keep shouting over her. Ugh, they can be so crude and self-centered. IMO Shep and Craig especially always think they're right, all the time, and if you disagree you're a fucking idiot or fucking stupid. Riiight. They don't get that whatever they or anyone else thinks about Kathryn are just opinions, not absolute truth. There's no right or wrong there. I'm not a fan of Thomas at all, but carrying on a discussion about him and his baby mama when he's right there next to you is crass. MYOB. I know the cast has to bring the drama, but I'm running out of people to root for or even like. There might be hope for the secondary cast: Jen, Danni, JD & Elizabeth, Gizmo, Charlotte.
  7. Couldn't agree more. Cheapskate Craig of S1&2 is why I could never warm to the guy. He seemed like such a work-averse poser. I know a few people who consistently "forget" their wallets and it's never an accident. I have a feeling that "nothing bad happened" is a phrase that Craig's had to say a lot during his lifetime!
  8. I need this on a fridge magnet.
  9. According to IMDB Bixby's house was Waddesdon Manor. However, the interior doesn't seem to have that fabulous white wedding cake of a hall where the parties were held. I wonder if they were sets.
  10. Indeed. It seemed as if the producers spent nearly the show's entire budget on the big set pieces, the glam '60s parties in that fabulous mansion, but not on the writing. I was confused about who was who too, and I was annoyed at the magician-twins/ending. It seemed like a cop out. Having twins as the big solution to any sort of puzzle annoys me; it makes me think that the writers didn't know how to wrap up the stories. And yes, why wouldn't Endeavour take Monica and leave the country? He's so disillusioned by his imprisonment and the Blenheim Vale whitewash that he'll go live in the woods and go back to being a cop almost right away, but he won't leave with Monica? Makes no sense. Meh. I hope next week's ep is better written. Make mine a cheese and pickle.
  11. ^^ HA! I think that at point in their relationship he would have fed her any BS to keep his access to his kids.
  12. Yes. Yes, he did. I'd like to think that Thomas is messing with her just to placate he and that he doesn't believe the nonsense he's spouting. Now that they're in court to solve custody and support issues, though, this act of his might stop (I can only hope).
  13. I'm confused. You're implying (I think) that there's been an about-face re: recreational drug use, but by whom? Thomas? Other posters? Help me out here, thanks. :) JMO but I think that trading sex for drugs is sad. On another topic, Patricia has really disappointed me this season. I love me some Drunkie-O, but she lost a lot of points by going after Kathryn (someone I really dislike, btw). Where's the class and graciousness in that? She said her piece by calling Kathryn and Thomas morons, and she should have left it at that. I'd rather see her drink martinis, walk hedgehogs in strollers and recline on a fabulous mess of pillows while sucking oxygen. I should blame Bravo, really; they ruin everything by setting up these screaming matches between women and slut-shaming them. Who knew that by the end of the season, it would be this ugly Kathryn vs. Landon mess?
  14. One wing of the Trade Winds has been gutted and is now being completely rebuilt, probably as timeshares. Yes, they're selling timeshare condos now too. I live a few miles away from Rockland and would never recommend that place to out of town visitors. I could say a lot more about that place but I don't want to risk being sued. Wiring etc. that's not up to code is the least of the problems. They'll always have business, though, because they're in a fabulous location.
  15. HEY, I'm an old bat and I'll go scorched earth on ANYONE, but then I don't have a caftan and a butler and aspire to be fancy Southern aristocracy.
  16. The same people who give little girl a last name as a first name, or name her after a posh district in London. *sigh* YMMV but that stuff makes me roll my eyes. Not that I'm opposed to Julien as a boy's name if it's a family name, but the "Saint" part kills me. It's all a little too precious for me. Re Craig's amusing/not amusing Whitney, I know a few upper crusties who refer to people as amusing or boring, and they don't use those words the way we would. Amusing people seem to run the gamut from, well, amusing, to pleasant to be around, being good at small talk, being socially appropriate etc. Boring people are boring, tedious, too ridiculous to waste time talking about etc. ETA thanks, esco.
  17. Redhawk, I agree and to me both Kathryn and Thomas seemed sweet and skeevy. I could see the wheels turning behind both their eyes tonight: Kathryn was still trying hard to get more from Thomas - more of a commitment and/or more money - and Thomas was only interested in keeping her sweet until she had a smooth delivery. They're so transparent. Their conversation in that cafe was all kinds of calculating. Thomas was trying to wiggle out and see his decorator without having Kathryn blow a gasket, and Kathryn seemed (to me, anyway) unnaturally sweet and nice to him. "Ugh" to both of 'em. BTW where are Kathryn's parents? We haven't seen them since that initial awkward dinner with Thomas, and I think I glimpsed them at Kensie's second christening. I assume they don't want to appear on camera, but it's as if K. was raised by wolves. It's kind of unnatural not to see them fussing around her during her second, more difficult pregnancy. And yes, Landon should do a blog, if she thinks she has anything to offer. So many people have parlayed successful blogs into publishing deals, but it does take work (something Landon is allergic to). She's another one who wants to start at the top, with a media deal instead of the hard graft a serious blog takes.
  18. 5-star cruise ship? Eww. Private yacht, dahling. Halkatla, do we know this for a fact or are you speculating? Thanks.
  19. I love you for using the word "icebox."
  20. Cameran has turned into such a little pill. I'm convinced that she was drunk as a skunk when Whitney and Craig had their final conversation/confrontation on the porch that night. She was pretty sour to Craig when they met for lunch at that drugstore. Sour and angry isn't a good look on her. Better watch your paycheck, hon.
  21. In your house stuffed full of Safavieh Couture. Did anyone else notice all those boxes? Now we know where her Bravo paycheck is really going.
  22. I want to see far less of Thomas and a lot more of his mansion-porn.
  23. In a nutshell this is why the show is now a big ol' mess for me. The fourth wall is irretrievably broken, and when that becomes so visible these kinds od reality shows become unwatchable. The cast's maneuvering to take sides, drive plot lines or stay relevant are so transparent now. Yep. This is why Patricia said these two are "morons" and I couldn't agree more. Thomas and Kathryn aren't together as a couple, so why should Kathryn be bent out of shape about what Thomas does with Whitney in LA... yet she has to provide drama to keep her face on the show, plus keep her paycheck... yet Thomas shouldn't be held hostage to her mood swings and crazy reactions... yet he is, because these two won't work out a legally binding custody agreement. It's the same old tired crap, week in and week out now. And not for nothing, but as much as Whitney is still seething about Kathryn three seasons on, Kathryn is still trying to drive a wedge between him and Thomas. She needs to give it a rest herself. ETA dang, SunBun, you beat me to it!
  24. Stage mom from hell! Like Kris Jenner. Yo will be everywhere, even more so than now.
  25. I think so. I hate on Yo a lot, but speaking objectively I think she's pretty stupid; canny enough to score rich husbands, but stupid.
