I still have no idea who Tubby the Tuba is, but somehow got that one anyway.
The April Fool's stuff was so cute! And I also loved Milton's story.
I do feel like Milton's "diode" and whatever the other one was would be the worst feeling on Jeopardy -- like when I'm yelling at the TV, "It's that one guy! The one who's married to the woman from the other thing, and has been in these seven movies!" Just not knowing something is one thing, but having it on the tip of your brain but not quite make it out would be a killer.
To be fair, 12 hours that included all night in the US. I mean, it's not unusual that I would sign off here at 10pm and not get back on until lunchtime, which is why I missed that whole window.
Maybe a friendly agreement not to vote in the first 12 hours? I feel like sometimes it is just obvious toward the end of a game, and there is no reason to wait.
Jesus, that was harrowing, And heartbreaking. I hope Sierra keeps getting the treatment she needs, and probably not just around sobriety? I mean, she's got to have serious mental health stuff to deal with, even if she didn't before.
Didn't they say Amar worked for Charlie Palmer from the time he was in school until he left to start his own restaurant? He wouldn't have that many high-profile people to pick from, especially given the death of Gerry Hayden. (A quick google shows he worked for Hayden right after school and then Palmer straight through.)
I didn't realize that Carl Dooley has a new restaurant in my neighborhood! And now i'm going to have to plan weeks in advance to go there. Ah well -- that's what I get for not paying attention.
I wanted to say something about the place I worked, but it was an advocacy organization and they wouldn't get into it. (I was right out of college, and had had literally no interesting life experiences yet! So I am very sympathetic toward the people with terrible "stories.")
I'm so jealous that she has time to prepare her anecdotes -- in Olden Tymes, taking the test in person, they told you you passed the test and immediately gave you paperwork that included three anecdotes. I had nothing! And at least one of my things got disqualified for being too controversial.
It made me crazy that she guessed flauta when it was tostada -- those are opposites! Flauta = flute = more rolled up than a taco, not less! But I was already annoyed with that contestant by then, and also I love flautas.
