Hello! I am back from my years of hiatus because I am so excited to have Survivor again! Good to see some old friends still here! I've read all about how "brutal" this season is supposed to be, does that mean we can finally get rid of the endless advantages and idols?? And did I see somewhere there are 3 Canadians?

I really enjoyed this episode as well! Leslie Grossman was COMPLETELY channeling Ivana Trump, lol. I found the Mr. Jingles storyline to be fascinating with its different looks and insights for the character. Leslie Jordan was a hoot, as always. I also thought most of the cast's acting skills were better for the most part, probably because they're finally able to flesh out their characters more. (Well, may be not Gus, but whatever) Feisty Billy Lourd completely resembles her mother in ways I hadn't seen before. I was just frozen in horror during the scene of Brooke slowly being injected cut with the scene of Richard Ramirez doing his ritual... it was too suspenseful to watch but impossible to fast forward. I also loved Brooke in general, having turned into an embittered, but defiant and strong person. I really thought she would give in to Richard Ramirez's offer at the end, but she still gave him the finger. And I loved her final message to Margaret, ha ha. Almost forgot, Cody Fern's "Bye, bitch" was one part I had to rewind.

I unfortunately haven't had the time available to post for a few seasons (although I always read your posts!), but I had to comment that this is already one of my favorite seasons. I find it wild, wacky and nostalgic. I would have been about the same age as the counselors in 1984. However, I can totally see how this season would be very polarizing to viewers. It's going on at a frenetic pace, almost seeming to try and one-up itself in the number of twists and turns, it almost seems like a long dream or a weird cartoon. I personally love it, but others might not. It seems (especially if you see the preview) that this season might be broken into a front and back half, sort of like Roanoke, where the story takes a completely different turn halfway through. I seem to remember reading somewhere that this was in fact the case. Who knows, I am having an entertaining ride!

TUVOK!!! I KNEW I knew that guy!

If I were ever to commit a crime of any sort and got caught, heaven forfend I would ever be subject to Joe's "help". I mean, he might actually be very good at his job, but right now he comes across as an arrogant jackass who really isn't that empathetic to people.

Does anybody else see how this frantic alliance-building right out of the gate thing has evolved over the seasons? Gone are the days of just watching and waiting for the right time and the right people - everybody is just panicked if they don't have an alliance with at least one other person like five minutes into the game.

Yes, I totally agree that he is overplaying his hand there. He seems to think that his being the "lie detector" gives him superpowers of some sort in the game, without seeing how others might react to his social game, if he has one.

That makes sense... especially as Chrissie seems savvy enough to realize that even though she was on the bottom, she didn't have to necessarily stick to the Alan, Katrina and Ben "alliance" just to get through... she might have thought sticking with Katrina would be like going down on a sinking ship and have some other plans for the future instead, such as you pointed out. Let's see if it bites her in the butt or not.

Okay I knew he reminded me of somebody!!

This made me laugh so hard...

Hey guys glad to be back! I kind of kakked out last season because I was inadvertently exposed to the "final three spoiler" that was everywhere and that kind of wrecked my posting fun :( Still wanting to read through all the posts but I wanted to say that I as well was going "Why didn't Chrissie save Katrina with the super idol?!" at the end, but my daughter who was watching with me thought that it might mean that they would have to revote and Chrissie might have been voted out then, but would the rules for this be a revote or the person with the second most votes (Ashley) be voted out instead? That wasn't quite clear.

Good god, I had to keep rewinding to make out what he was saying...

I knew I was reminded of someone lol!!

I suspected as much as this as well, I knew there would be rules. However, it was still horrifying to watch. Michaela: You think it'll let me touch its head, the baby? Sandra: Yeah, but don't get too attached. It's our next meal. Michaela: The baby?! Michaela: She was a villain for a reason.

I never liked Andrea much in previous seasons although I can't remember exactly why (old brain trying to remember 34 seasons ha ha) but I was pretty unimpressed by her ridiculously transparent attempt to set Troyzan's mind at ease. A child could see through that. Hali and Sierra, on the other hand, I remember dismissing as mindless fluffballs but they both spoke well tonight. I thought Hali did quite well for herself at tribal.

I liked the twist of the idol being hidden at the immunity challenge, and that Troyzan actually managed to snag it. Didn't we see the younger Kelly W. do this at a challenge before? It's gotta be difficult.

I was quite tickled by Sarah's reaction of stunned delight as she learned of her nemesis Tony's ouster, ha ha. I hope she is more of a presence in this game. Culpepper... did somebody replace this guy with a clone or what? I remember an obnoxious sexist jerk and now we see a self-described antiquer and home decorator who describes a female tribe member as a "budding attorney"? I am so totally over Tai's flip-flopping accompanied by massive amounts of angsting over it. Spare us the angsting please. I know I'm not the first but I was ready to boycott this show if they killed the goats!!! Sandra, how could you?? When you already have so much food!! And trying to get someone else to do the killing but telling them how to prepare the carcasses! Malcolm skipping was great! And he is so pretty :) I missed Debbie :)

Okay, I'm late to the party as usual lol! However, just had to quote my favorite line of the night: "Balls....the trees have balls..."

Just checked the tv listings for next week - 1 hour only.
-
I don't get it either. Last night's TC was Day 33. There are only 6 more days but there are 8 people left. Probst said this on EW: "Okay, tease us up for next week! We are getting down to the end, and next week we lose two people. I love/hate these episodes because I hate losing people, but I love having Two Tribals and two votes. Then the following week, it’s our finale and it’s going to be great!"

I may have to go back and rewatch but I am boggled as to how Will retained (or seemed to retain) his standing in the Zeke alliance after being outed by Ken on his flip. Did his "I just want it to be seen that I can make a big move" defense really mollify them as much as it seemed to do? I was half expecting the Zeke alliance to turn on him instead, especially the Machiavellian Zeke. (Ah, Zeke, liked you and then loved to hate you, glad you're gone but I'll miss you.) He might have thought of this as well as he finally sided with the David alliance. (On the other hand, his disgusted face after Sunday's boneheaded comments at tribal indicate that that might have been a deciding factor, who knows.) He also displayed the classic "swing vote power rush to the head" syndrome that so many players seem to get - don't they realize this is usually the kiss of death? Nobody trusts a flip-flopper very far. Of course, Adam pretty much flopped back and forth between some of the earlier alliances as well, and earned much mistrust from various people, but didn't outwardly show the arrogance that Will is exhibiting now. He also made some good moves to solidify himself with his current alliance and just basically lucked out as well (I was predicting him gone a couple of weeks ago). He seems to be settling down as a player and I am liking him more. I was impressed that he won the immunity, he probably managed it from thinking about doing it for his mom, which is wonderful but makes me very sad. I lost my dad to cancer a few years ago and I can feel his pain. Sunday in my opinion is not a mere goat, she is a pile of goat turds on a rock. She can stop boring and annoying me on my TV screen any time now. I am officially rooting for David for the win. He's made mistakes but also many good moves, has sucked at challenges but also done better and even won immunity, and been afraid of many things but not afraid to play the game. And has a great personality.

THIS! What is with these people!? I totally agree, and at least it solidified his loyalty and trustworthiness in the alliance. BWAHAHAA I just about spit out a mouthful of beer all over my keyboard after I read this!
-
Now that you mention it I totally see the similarity! I love Ken, but I was doing the patented Picard Facepalm throughout that whole sequence. (Mind you, I always loved Coach too - batshit but totally wonderful.) I will be interested to see how Ken will be doing with his alliance in future episodes. Edited to add: make that the double facepalm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNsrK6P9QvI

Please god no....I am all of a sudden very nervous.

I would pay good money to be a fly on the wall watching him trying to explain that situation to his baby momma.
