I will have to put my hearing aids in on rewatch, but was that a thunk of a "roof landing"? That wouldn't be a subtle sound at all.

I heard it. It's there. Granted, upon first watch I thought he threw it out in the crowd, but he definitely didn't.

To say that I'm not happy at the prospect of one or more of the people we've been following for years being killed horribly because our gang jumped in feet first to immediately embroil themselves in a fight between Hilltop and the Saviors, none of whom we've been given much reason to care about yet, is putting it mildly.

As stupidly as they have behaved, I actually have no doubt that this is the way it would have always ended up, no matter what actions our group would have taken (except for the action of doing proper recon). The Saviors that Daryl blew up: give us your stuff, and we'll kill one of you. The story that Jesus told: they take our stuff and killed one of us. The Savior compound: pictures of people they killed hanging over their beds like Dream Catchers. So in that respect...at least they got some food out of the situation.

Some things that bug me: TPTB had Rick act so out of character when kneeling in front of  Negan. Yes, I know it was a horrible situation. And yes I can see that Rick was feeling responsible. But we've seen him in bad situations before. Terminus, anyone? Then, as he watched Carl about to be sodomised with the Claimers-- but he didn't give up. Yes, yes, yes, there is no denying the situation with Negan was no-win. But the old Rick would have said something. He would have been...defiant in some way. He would have made eye contact with Daryl or Michonne. He wouldn't have cried. Yes, he was scared shitless, but he wouldn't have cried. (BTW, I have seen the latest on FB. That is the old Rick. Of course, it looks like he may pay for that. Still...)

I can buy it. Rick was never as over the top arrogant with those other groups as he was with the Saviors. Randomly telling that guy, "Oh, how would you like to make this your last day on earth." Like, WTF, man? Not to mention how much he gloated when he was in bed with Michonne. Speaking of Michonne, he basically became undone when he found her hair. He was just on such a huge high to come down from immediately. And if he looks at Daryl or Michonne, then Negan knows, "Oh, these two are important to him. Let me save myself the trouble and just kill one of them." Truth be told, I'm actually surprised Rick is saying something now. Dude just beat in one (or two) HEAD(S) of your friend(s) and you're out here popping off at the mouth? Who's to say that someone else wouldn't have paid for that instead of Negan just dragging him off?

I do agree that TPTB have some kind of hard on for Negan that they think we share, but that's not the case. At all.

I'm noticing a trend.  The females in Rick's group with multiple sex partners and/or relatively hated by the audience are killed off.  But it's the most beloved, or kindest/gentlest who are killed off of the men - excluding Shane, and maybe Abe.  I know there're exceptions, but it's a definite trend.

What other women have died in this group besides Lori and Andrea? Amy and Jacqui? I mean, Lori was always gonna die. And TVAndrea was a terrible character.

  5. I'm definitely going to keep watching, but I expressed concern with my friend (who shares the same concern, even though she loves comic Negan) that if they did Negan as the villain for more than this season, it was going to be burnout. I know that he's still a part of the story even after he's no longer the big bad, but if I have to deal with fee-fi-foe-fum or whatever into season 8...I don't know, man. I honestly feel like we're a season (or a storyline) behind where we should be. We're coming up on season 7 and I worry about the actors' commitments to the show. I know they love it, but it's a brutal schedule and it takes up so much time, especially for someone like Andy who doesn't even live here and has to uproot his family for half a year. Then you've got Danai, who's star is certainly rising. I know the show will accommodate for them to keep them as long as they can, but at what cost? 'Cause if you've got me chillin' at the Kingdom for episodes at a time, I'm not going to be happy.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but stuff like that is staying at the back of my mind.

  6. Unfortunately, I have a Walking Dead podcast, so I have to watch it live. I mean, not unfortunately; I love my podcast (?), but I can't join in rebellious actions like not watching, though I'd actually love to, this time around.

  7. I was actually super annoyed by the discussion around fan reaction to the cliffhanger AGAIN. OWN YOUR SHIT. It's been 4 months; if people are still mad/disillusioned/indifferent then that's the way they're going to stay. Stop the desperate, "Hey, guys, cliffhangers are so so cool. It's actually classic television; you may be too dumb to get it, but trust us, this is actually the best episode ever written for TV." I actually loved Andy Lincoln's (and I think maybe Danai's as well) response of, "Everyone's reaction is valid." Even Robert Kirkman seems to be less and less of a full out dick these days, because his interview where he said, "Yeah, the writers were trying some new stuff to keep the content fresh and we may have missed the mark. Won't happen again," wasn't as full of shit as whatever the hell release Gimple prepared for the show. I don't even know what he said since Hardwick rammed through reading that at lightning speed. Something dramatic about cobbler and the end of the world and the new beginning is someone's end. ? Hold me to my word guys, but I just feel like we've been so inundated with how sickening and terrible this Negan controlled world will be and I'll be sitting here like ?? But maybe I'lm just as full of shit as everyone else. ?

All of this Negan hype from tptb is just reminding me of how I am not excited about the upcoming season.

Yeah...I'm looking forward to certain parts, but I'm afraid that those parts will be few and far between.

And I agree - the constant use of the word "like" makes me cringe.

Making someone cringe and thinking the person is a moron are, like, two separate things. I say this as one who is actively trying to curb her use of the word.

That is not the case of an undercover journalist making about a false background to be chosen among the perspectives which Unreal wants us to think Yael is

Ahh. Well, she could have saved herself a lot of time an effort and just applied as herself. I have yet to watch this week's episode; I haven't even finished the one from the week before.

Rumors that the MSF is going to include a popular scene from the comic book where Spencer, um, loses his guts, as well as the appearance of Ezekiel, who they've been trying to keep hidden from local spoiler watchers by keeping him covered up in a van.

Good riddance to Spencer's bitch ass!

Although Yael says she's a journalist, there's no way the show would have let her on if she'd been employed as a journalist or working in a news organization in the last 5 to 10 years.

This past season on The Bachelor, one of the contestants was a general assignment reporter who quit her job to come on the show. The show knew all about it, clearly. They even had her play it up sometimes.

  13. I legit don't give a shit about Negan. Like, I'm excited that there's a new antagonist and all that, but my loins weren't aching to get him on the show and so all of this coverage is annoying me. An EW cover? No thanks. JDM giving me all the deets on how the characters will be affected? I don't care what he thinks! Give me interviews with the actors I've known for 3-6 years!

  14. I read that, too. I don't know if the cast knew he was "spilling the beans" at the time of the interview. Kirkman also said that they knew who was going to die at the beginning of season 6 and by the time they filmed the finale of season 6, the premiere for season 7 was already written.

  15. Steering away from the bat a bit, I saw the cast's TVLine.com interview. Of course, Ausiello brought up Richonne (because he's a fan) and asked if maybe we'd see more of that in season 7, knowing full well he was also asking for confirmation that both Rick and Michonne would be alive. Everyone tried to dance around it. Andy started off with, "If they both live..." and Ausiello just cut him off and said that he thinks Rick is safe. Then Danai tried to say something, but Gimple cut her off and said, "The way that they mourn will also show how deeply they feel -- or felt -- for one another." So, in Gimple's haste to make sure Andy and Danai didn't give anything away, the takeaway got from that sentence is that we're about to get a Richonne sex scene, which is all I really need in life. This, again, is a result of this stupid cliffhanger. I don't think anyone is seriously, seriously considering that either Rick or Michonne will die. And if this show was really balls to the wall, those two would be perfect to kill because no one is expecting it. But they're not going to die, so all of this "if I'm alive" posturing is just annoying.
