  1. Honestly, if Judith wasn't there, I think Rick would of given him all the details. "It just happened.....last night." Ehhhh. Just stop, Rick.

Ha! I really didn't see it that way. I thought Rick heard the way "It just happened" came out and thought it sounded super casual. And while it clearly wasn't planned, it was also clearly this transformative thing and he didn't want it to seem like he was dismissive of it. So that's why he repeated "It just happened" but put the emphasis on "just." The "last night" seemed like nerves and blathering. He was shifting his weight around and stumbling over words. It was cute.

  2. (I do wish the show had clarified why Glenn and Abe seemed so surprised by Rick and Michonne. I would have thought everyone's attitude would have been more like Daryl's - nonexistent. Was Glenn surprised because Rick never said anything to him about liking Michonne? Was he surprised the way many people are surprised when they learn their parents or teachers actually have sex? And Abe, like everyone else, has been a witness to how close Rick and Michonne are, and his attraction to both Rosita and Sasha proves that he wouldn't blink an eye at an interracial couple. Don't get me wrong, I got a kick out of Glenn's and Abe's reaction, but the TV viewer in me wanted to know what the others thought about it and why they each reacted the way they did.)

I think any person would have had that reaction. Chasing an intruder into the house of friends and seeing those friends, who have separate bedrooms, coming from one of their bedrooms half dressed? Abe was just being a weirdo in general that episode about uggin' bumplies, so nothing he does surprises me. Glenn, after the initial shock, seemed nonchalant as well. He definitely saw them holding hands in the RV and definitely had zero reaction.

  3. Hmm. I think it's safe to assume that everyone here watches the show and they come to their own interpretation as well as a collaborative one. That, of course, is one of the reasons why we frequent this message board. Speaking personally, I don't think I let the opinions of others influence my opinion on the show, but I do think that the opinions of others about the show can reflect a larger world view. That's where I saw the conversation going. When I read Pete Martell's comments about "no groundwork," I saw it as asking the question "Why are people so eager to see something with Rick and Jessie after an hour of interaction, as opposed to seasons of close interaction with Michonne?" Not, "Oh, man. I hope the showrunners didn't watch that one Talking Dead tonight and get any ideas to rewrite and reshoot episodes that have been in the can for months."

  4. Rick was looking for something to bind Michonne's hands with, but changed his mind when he saw Lori's ghost staring down at him.

Yes, and he was specifically looking for a wire because that's what Merle suggested. He cautioned that he couldn't use something that she could chew her way through, like a rope. When you're passing along knowledge like that, that's when you know your life has taken a wrong turn.

  5. I've been sick about this episode for days now. I can't stop thinking about what a damn dumpster fire the second half of this episode was. I've been hoping I could eventually form some coherent thoughts, but I'm still back in angry and shocked in my grief stages. I'm just...what??? Abbie cheerfully floats off to purgatory while Crane joins Men in Black? Ahhhhhh. I just can't with this.

Bwahaaa! We need one of those mind neuralyzers to make us forget S2/S3 ever existed. I've never felt betrayed by a television show until this. Even with how mad I was at TWD with their stupid S6 finale stunt, I was never all, "How dare you?!"

  6. Yes. Not only not unheard of, but common/common sense. Many women in occupied countries in WWII took up with German soldiers or officers, not only for food but for protection from other soldiers. I would never judge them. Much as I disliked Lori for other reasons, I think what she did (and really, what did she do that was "bad"? She thought Rick was dead.) I saw nothing wrong with her getting together with Shane. It made sense.

I'm pretty sure I'd do the same thing if I were alone in an apolcalypse and had a child to feed and protect.

Aligning yourself with your husband's best friend three(ish) weeks after he "died" and the world came to an end to protect yourself and your child is one thing. Engaging in forest frolicking is another. If it was just the forest. When Rick was reunited with them and wanted to get it on in the tent, he looked at a sleeping Carl hesitantly and Lori replied that he wouldn't wake up. Like, have you tested that theory already? It just looked really sketchy on both their parts.

    Replying in the relationships thread

  8. Lol.  Yeah, I was also thinking, um, maybe this isn't a good speech to give Maggie.  We all made it together, well, except for Hershel and Beth.

Especially since they weren't even all together at that moment as evidenced by the fact that Rick was telling her this crap instead of her husband.

  9. Also, Abbie was in the catacombs 6 weeks real time, but 10 months Demonic Daylight Time. Betsy was in there over 200 years real time and she thinks, like, what? Four months have passed? Seven tops? Is that because she unexplainably went into some kind of stasis?

  10. I rolled my eyes so hard at the ship-baiting in the beginning that I almost couldn't enjoy it. They can eat each other's doughnuts and drink each other's coffee all they want, but they will never be my Richonne sharing an apple (not that they were trying to be, but I couldn't help but see the similarities).

Hopefully they can reverse that Joe death next week. If it even matters. I also hope Betsy's eternal soul is they one they use instead of Abbie's or Ichabod's.

  11. Can anybody tell me why I'm putting myself through this gut wrenching and clenching experience over a show? I should be excited for this, like, yay! Whoopee! Big goings on! But no, I've got knots in my stomach thinking about all of this and its making me distinctly uncomfortable. Where's the fun in that???

Exactly. I have never had this reaction to a television show before. I mean, good for them, I guess for having this vice grip on my heart. I had an equally intense but opposite reaction when Richonne finally happened. I barely remembered my week because I was so excited. Nothing was bothering me, I was super happy all the time. This is my punishment.

  12. JackONeill is right. Negan is talking to Maggie. I know this from the written spoilers, not the audio file. Maggie is still in the middle of having a miscarriage (I assume) and Negan is about to kill her because she's in agony. Glenn freaks out and that's why Negan says they get one free pass and chooses someone else.

The other spoiler that I was just reminded of is how Rick and Co learn Michonne and Daryl are hostages. The saviors have set up several roadblocks. One is  a group of chained walkers. One walker is wearing Daryl's winged jacket and another walker is sporting some of Michonne's dreads. I assume Rick and Co will assume Daryl and Michonne are dead when they see this, which should be a dramatic moment.

Jesus (my Lord and Savior [not these shady Saviors, though], not this shifty Jesus on the show), this is intense! I now know I made the right decision by taking Monday off from work.

  13. I swear I watched this exact set up (a dad helping a panicked mom with the mom's child's breathing issues by going into the bathroom and turning on the hot shower) and I could have sworn it was on this show, but apparently not. Anyway, I get that Zoey was grateful, but her "I don't know what I would have done without you"? Um...my good friend Google is always available, as is her cousin, YouTube. Also, your doctor's office. Also, the hospital. Also, a nurses line. Also, 911. Also, the fire department. Whatevskis.

  14. Abe did much to redeem himself (in my eyes) when he attempted to talk Rick down from his quiet panic over Michonne's absence at the end. He was so perceptive and kind; light years away from how he ended things with Rosita.

  15. I really loved this scene due to how profound it was. I enjoyed the Rick/Michonne scene was wonderful at the start of the episode. But this was so much better due to what was said but not said by Rick. Great acting by AL and MC.

Yes! My heart dropped for Rick when he asked if Michonne was there. His face made me tear up. However, I cannot discount the way Rick literally breathed Michonne in at the beginning of their scene together. He looked like she intoxicated him. Andy Lincoln is serving it to me in this pairing.

Abe/Sasha made me vaguely uncomfortable when he was hitting on her during their mission. It just seemed skeevy; I don't even remember any conversations they had before that to make me think this was even an inkling. Then I thought it was over, especially since he thought it was a good idea to try to start a new relationship while still in one, and then continuing to be in said relationship after Sasha made her feelings known. It seemed like Abe was just trying to get some jollies in. The 30 years line was sweet, but I was still in the mindset of, "Oh, God, no. This is back?" I guess I don't hate it, except that I don't really care about it and there was a bunch of triangle stuff I had to watch instead of Rick and Michonne, my OTP that I'd been into for years.

  16. I have never used one nor do I know anyone who has - Do Neti Pots really work like that?  Turn you head to the side, put the spout up to one nostril and the water flows out the other one.  Seems like his head was titled far enough for the water to get to a place where it could cross to the other nostril.

Yup. It's a disgusting miracle worker.

  17. Hmmm...just thinking here.  If being a Witness is passed along through the bloodline, what would happen if two Witnesses had a child together?  Would said child be twice as effective as a champion against evil?  (Hint, hint, Ichabbie.)

That is EXACTLY where my mind when when that point came up. Thank yooooouuuuu
