  1. I read that as Crane going to the dark side. Or at least flirting metaphorically with it.

Good one. Just trying to think of who the person would be - especially since I'm assuming it's a baddie we've already met.

I thought the partnership would have been Daniel actually. Because Crane is so wary of him, and so protective of Abbie, that asking for help, or working with him might be considered "unlikely". That was my first thought.

  2. I couldn't even stomach the last quarter of the Pats game- I knew that Andy would poorly manage the game and was sick of seeing those smug ass bitches gloating. Too bad No way they would easily beat the Broncos/Steelers and go to another SB.

    Fixed that for ya. Hee

But yeah, I agree. Andy Reid's clock management was BS, and in this game, NE was lucky to win. These assholes are gonna gloat and preen like they are used to, since you know, they are the NE Patriots.

  3. And he passed very early this morning, in Montreal, at age 59 (Celine is the youngest of the 14 children in her family, by the way, if you didn't know). He had Brain, Tongue, & Throat Cancer--apparently fairly similar to Celine's husband Rene (though I never heard Rene had Brain Cancer). I'm not sure how recently, but at least at 1 point he worked in some capacity on Celine's show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Poor Celine! First her beloved husband, then her beloved brother. I really feel for her and hope her family and friends are there offering as much support. Poor lady. I hope she'll be okay emotionally, because, man....

  4. Man, I'm reading various celeb tributes via twitter/whatever, for Alan Rickman and for some, dissolving into tears. I don't even know the guy (duh, obviously), but these tributes to him, how he was such a wonderful, supportive, dedicated, caring and loving person who influenced so many others, is just killing me. We need more Alan Rickman's in the world.

  5. Episode synopsis: Brittani married a man who loves large women but at 600 lbs she can barely contribute to their marriage. With dreams of a normal relationship, she gets weight loss surgery. Her entire world then changes leaving her with the challenge to forge a new life.
  6. "Bad Blood" and "Triangle"!

Oh man - totally forgot about these two. Bad Blood is one of the best ever. So much fun. Triangle is really good too. I stayed on the Queen Mary (where this episode was filmed) for a week, and was so excited to watch this episode, because I was like, "I was there!, Oh I remember that place! I so recognize that ballroom, OMG, there's the Bridge!". Even the hallway, because on the QM, it has such a noticable dip towards the centre of the ship, and you can see it in the episode.

but I'll be parked in front of the television anyway.

     Yup. Me too!

  7. Looks decent. Good way for the show to recap and remind us of what happened during the regular series run, for those of you out there who never watched the series during the original run, or forgot some stuff.

Many of my rewatches tend to be the stand-alone episodes, so hopefully I won't be too bored or annoyed with the William and the Samantha and the Mulder-family Springer show thing.

But I am really looking forward to it!

Agree with most of the lists above on stand-alones. Darkness Falls is a really good stand-alone episode. Aubrey, Blood, 2Shy, Szygzy, Leonard Betts, How the Ghosts Stole Christmas, The Rain King, Agua Mala (yeah, yeah, I liked it), Field Trip and Hungry are fun/interesting ones too.

  8. Wow, what an absolute clusterfuck. Congrats, Burfect and Jones, you just blew your team's entire season.

Yup. Said as much in my Football Pool thread. He alone caused his team to lose. They kept showing Hill upset over the interception - it wasn't him, nor number 24 (Pacman Jones). Burfict lost it, both mentally, and for the team.

And Bengals fan - please don't throw things at Big Ben or any other injured player, plskthx.

What a mess. Seriously. NFL meet NHL.

Thrilled that Kansas City won and rolled over the Texans. Unfortunately, that means Kansas plays NE - not sure if that's a bad thing or good, considering how good the Broncos are recently.

  9. Episode synopsis: A costume designer finds her career threatened when her weight increases to 650 pounds, so she prepares for gastric-bypass surgery and gets psychological help to uncover the causes of her lifelong secret eating habit.

Just a reminder to everyone to please keep the discussion considerate and respectful, and to limit the unnecessarily body shaming and general shaming overall. This Mod Note explains in a little more detail. Thank you.

  10. I would substitute screen time for character development. The only thing we learned about Jenny or Katrina (or Betsy) is that men want to have sex with them, which doesn't say too much about their inner lives.

Yup. And not only that - Jenny got "romantic" with Hawley (whilst wearing a black leather mini - so 1980's) because Metzner was crushing on LG. Creepy as hell knowing this fact while watching the scene. Substance over sex any day (well, most days).

  11. Or it could be a characteristic of the character of Abbie. She has made it clear on more than one occasion that fighting the apocalypse leaves no time, in her opinion, for romance because saving the world comes first. But I personally think Abbie's reasoning is an excuse and her reluctance to get involved, especially seriously involved stems from some personal issues she has with abandonment but that's a conversation for another thread.

That's what I believe it is, and have since season 1 (remember, she dumped Luke for Quantico), and the writers have said as much. She fears losing people she loves (because it happened when she was a kid) and therefore prevents herself from falling in too deep. That is what is being explored this season, and she'll soon make that realization and realize the consequences of her closing herself to romantic relationships.

Unpopular opinion: I think Cliff Campbell is doing a good job with this season and setting up a amazing and eye-opening second half of the season.
