  1. I just turned on the TV and what should immediately appear but Purple Sweater Guy, nursing Adam back to health.
  2. Yes! I loved the tone of the first movie, and wish they'd kept more of that for the series.

Yeah, all the Niles behavior toward Daphne does not hold up well. I'm glad they at least had the one episode where Frasier made him address some of that. "You were in love at her" sums up so much.
  4. Jenny who cut off all her hair, along with her Ma and Mr. Mayfield.
  5. Tinker Jones, Little Lou, stuttering Anna, Jimmy Hill . .
  6. It's Election Day (in the US) - everybody remember to vote for Elmer!

Yes! I also love when she's explaining about how one of her brothers left his tooth under his pillow for Winston Churchill. Martin: Question? Nikes: No, Dad, we're not stopping.
  8. That's what always drove me crazy about the episode where pregnant Laura keels over trying to maintain the orchars while Charles and Almanzo are out of town. She couldn't see the sense in James and Albert splitting up or sharing the chores at her farm and theirs? Or having Carrie and Cassandra at least come help her a little bit? But I guess then we wouldn't have gotten wise Ma telling parables to the kids at the end.
  9. I saw Trick 'R Treat tonight, and in one scene I recognized the background schoolyard noise from LH (where you can hear Laura yelling "Nellie!"). It's funny enough in LH episodes where Laura's the teacher and they're still using it, but I was not expecting it here.

RIP, Michael Moon. You were the best cannon operator. https://www.google.com/amp/s/deadline.com/2022/10/robbie-coltrane-dies-harry-potter-james-bond-cracker-star-was-72-1235145166/amp/
  11. I can't decide whether real life Ma would be more disappointed by the show's depiction of Laura as super boy-crazy, or that she constantly falls for such goofballs.
  12. I just saw the first couple minutes of the Highway to Heaven pilot episode, and the very first person ML encounters is that guy from LH who hitched a ride with Charles and made Charles carry him through the swamp.
  13. Harriet and Nellie were both really awful many times, but I was watching The Race recently, and that one gets my vote for just the purely meanest behavior by Harriet. Not only was Harriet going out of her way to be mean to a child, but the fact that she wanted to cheat Laura out of a fair chance at the race when the only reason that Laura couldn't run the race was because she tired out her horse to help Harriet's own son? Her behavior was just despicable.
  14. Charles and Jonathan raced two other guys for a freighting contracts. That episode gave us Jonathan announcing, "Them's snails!" in the fancy French restaurant.
  15. I remember Charles ordering soup at a fancy restaurant when he had to foot the dinner bill for Almanzo and Mary in the dumb episode where he and Almanzo raced their freight wagons.

Husband looked at the time left on the dryer (he thought it was done) and said "Twenty minutes?" and of course I patted his arm soothingly and said, "Yes honey, twenty minutes." My Frasier humor is wasted on him

I didn't know that was Matthew until now! I recognized John Cusack as the first-year psychology student, and Gary Sinise as the guy who can't talk on the phone without a written script.

I am sorry for your loss. My mom had dementia, but she enjoyed watching old sitcoms, too (MeTV), and it was good to have something comforting for her.
  19. Agreed. I watch all the Frasier Christmas episodes every year, along with the Jeffersons.
  20. They did two Halloween ones, the good one and the awful one. They mentioned Thanksgiving when Grandpa was there and Carrie thought the turkey was going to be a dinner guest.. And I think The Last Farewell was set at Easter.

Although that changed by the time Donny came around. There were a lot of sleepovers in that condo. I have never seen so many people comfortably hanging around in their bathrobes in front of (practically) strangers.

I always skip the Nanny G episode and all the ones with guest stars from Cheers. And the one where Niles and Frasier are competing courtroom experts.
  24. Our youngest kid moved out (well, to college, so only sorta), so I told my spouse that now we have to go to Mankato and adopt a psychopath.
