  1. Correct. And Rachel got a prosthetic eye. They've showed Rachel getting eye exams a couple of times this season, remarking on the progress of pigmentation.
  2. I've never even heard of The Day After -- I would have been 10/11 when it aired. So weird. Maybe I'll ask my parents. I don't believe Elizabeth thinks she has a good chance with Don. She thinks it's the only chance they have. When Philip offered her the out, that's how I read it. Don's a lousy target, no obvious weak spots. She was hoping for blackmail material anyway, and that didn't pan out either. But she's forging ahead because there is no alternative they know of to get that Level 4 access. The lube trick was smart, a little piece of evidence that would make him question himself -- I shouldn't be surprised she'd know to do that. Broke my heart how he scurried out of there in shame. This bears repeating. Nope.
  3. Before they hit the streets they showed Sheri saying they could fall off (don't remember the exact wording), but they had to stay near each other. It was presented as task rules, with the ability to fall known in advance and not simply lenient judging after the fact. (How often they could be off / for how long sounded undefined. Could the task be failed at that point? Dunno. Don't really care, either!)
  4. This may be the only time I can remember liking the final runway! Not every single item and certainly nothing was mind-blowing, but overall all three collections were solid. Usually there is at least one head-scratcher in the bunch.
  5. Most of the time there isn't truly a definitively popular/unpopular opinion -- if there are lots of fans, you can always find many others who feel the same as you about almost anything. But, kudos, I think you've hit on a truly unpopular one! Good job! After years of rewatching Charmed on cable, I now find myself avoiding the Cole episodes. I didn't mind his arcs the first time around, but now that I know what happens I lack patience for his bullshit and all the angst that follows him. They just kept reinventing Cole over and over, he became an evil, whiny boomerang with nine lives. He sucks the air out of the show for me.
  6. My best theory is he said he had to save Cassie -- it was his day to die, not hers. He's tapped into the timeline and can see what happens. If he let himself be killed right away, maybe Cassie would have died trying to stop it. By delaying his death he saves her and still fulfills his destiny. He's also nuts. He wrote "catch me if you can"...part of the game? I could see Jennifer doing something like that, and he seems to be crazy in the same way.
  7. Not arguing with your point, I agree, but a small clarification to make sure I have my story straight -- she didn't sacrifice Tommy because her mission was to keep him alive, to stop the Messengers from killing him. Was there a moment when sacrificing him would have benefitted her mission?
  8. Damn! Things are really picking up! Last few minutes were intense. I sure as hell wouldn't save the guy who's literally at this moment making me dig my own grave so he can murder me and dump me in it. Maybe he thinks he needs Deacon for some reason? Hoping Cassie and Cole deal soon, because she's unpleasant to watch right now. Loved Cassie's dress. Gorgeous, with and without the shrug (or whatever that was -- looked like a dress with sleeves, then it was sleeveless so there was a shoulder cover-er of some kind).
  9. My crush on Christian Kane knows no bounds! (Ok, so Eliot lost a point in the season where he had that Mary Tyler Moore blown-out flip going. What was that?!) I'm not usually attracted to the hitter type, but he played Eliot with such heart and charm and intelligence I just sigh every time he's on screen. And then they let him cook and sing! Be still my heart. One of my favorite moments was when he buys Sophie and Parker flowers in Lonely Hearts Job -- the perfect flowers, a plant that "does something" for Parker -- and lets Nate and Hardison take credit.
  10. That's been a central question since they introduced Morland, and on first impression he seemed perfectly civil. Is Sherlock way off base, emotionally compromised? Or are they lulling us into a false sense of security, only to reveal Morland truly is the Devil incarnate? He's certainly a shark, but is he just the boardroom variety or literally deadly? He certainly seems to be displaying more and more menace. One assumes we'll find out soon...
  11. I do wish JLM would pull a little less of the squint-stinkface. And while I don't love the pants, I'll take 100 of those over another bow blouse!
  12. Ramse has a strange moral compass. He spends a lifetime protecting and fighting alongside Cole. Then he kills Cole, regrets it, yet works with the 12 Monkeys anyway...but only a little, he says. Just enough to help them find the virus, so that 7 Billion can die to (theoretically) save one child, a son he doesn't even know. Switches back to Cole's side, yet refuses to destroy the virus. He's standing with him, but won't act. There is a very weird passivity and ambivalence to him. I don't get it. I have no patience for the idea of choosing to let billions die to save one person, even if it's me or someone I love. It's an awfully black-and-white position and one that I can't know if I would live up to if push came to shove, but I truly hope I would never choose that and I'd hope someone more objective would stop me if I did.
  13. Also: How did the Dancers get ahead of Cole and Sherry? They couldn't find the clue. She took one chicken/coconut at at time. Cole didn't even freeze on the cliff. HOW?! I do tend to watch with one eye and a finger on the fast forward button so I assume I missed a snag of some sort...
  14. I love that they mimicked a Cosby intro sequence! Tiny moment, probably took a day to film. So worth it.
  15. Having never heard of him before this, I like Tyler! I perceive his constant laughing as genuine -- a reaction of joy rather than hilarity. He seems absolutely delighted by the whole experience. Then again, some people find me annoying, too. :)
  16. This drives me nuts. Although I thought everyone was kinda slow -- I had it sorted the second they said Tetch took the test. Earlier the Captain had asked why someone would waltz into some guy's shop and offer him money to be an assassin with no reason to believe he was the assassin type. We were looking for a reason, and there it was. This has happened a bunch of times lately, and I really, truly should not be able to put the pieces together faster than Sherlock. I wish they wouldn't dumb it down. Also, agree on the welcome appearance of pants.
  17. Felix's sister sounded southern, maybe Texas. She had an exaggerated drawl.
  18. I hear you, @Netfoot. I don't want Brian to be unhappy either! If we get more, I'd prefer they write her in some way that doesn't break his heart. I like the show when Brian can be his goofy, brainstorming, crafty self and isn't weighed down by angst. He's put her on such a pedestal, though, I fear the worst.
  19. Totally agree. That's why I assumed it was a hallucination initially, too. It didn't make any sense to have walk in to find Piper and Dad having a grand old time. Even if they didn't know he assumed she was dead, Dad knows he's been looking for her desperately. I believe Piper was cooperating with the Legion of Whom and/or is gray at best. She didn't "escape". I could see her being the Big Bad.
  20. Thank you, this is what I meant by the prospect of life in Russia being miserable. Not that all life there was necessarily miserable, but her life likely would be for all of those reasons and more. Maybe if the KGB supported her financially and helped her adapt there's hope. But that's a long shot, and to live there as an American in exile with no preparation or intent? Yikes.
  21. Corpses and maggot bots before bed? Not my best idea. And yes, Kira is getting creepy. It's the eyes. Helena and Allison are so great! Tired of Rachel's story.
  22. Wondering what I'd do if I were Martha. I am pretty sure I'd have taken the bridge option. But who knows? My opinion is colored since we viewers have outside knowledge that all her outcomes are terrible: Prison, exile, possible execution. No Clark, no parents, ever. Even her absolute best outcome -- a quiet life behind the Iron Curtain -- sounds miserable to me, all things considered. I'm not a suicidal sort, but I'm also not someone who wants to live at all costs.
  23. That was tricksy editing. On the phone, Martha said she was in trouble and wanted it to end. The preview made it look like she was saying this to the FBI, but in the episode the call was to her parents and the FBI were listening via a wiretap.
  24. Yeah, what is up with her? When she dictated the message about the "sample" to transport, she paused. The communications guy asked: "Anything else?" She said "Send it". Hmmm. I expected the anything else to be mention of a passenger (Martha) also being transported, but no. I suppose there's no reason to assume they would be traveling together or mentioned in the same communique, but my first reaction was the omission might mean she has no intention of delivering Martha.
  25. It's hard to judge what would be realistic for Martha. We all behave differently and this is a particularly extreme situation. I buy her behavior. She's been cooperative because she is in shock, in love, and in denial. Those are all incredibly powerful. And what have her options been? Once she realizes she's unwittingly become a traitor, the cognitive dissonance and guilt would overwhelm anyone. And she can't turn him in without turning herself in. She's only running now because she fears something has happened to Clark, and without him she's unsafe -- she asked, "What did you do to him?". The dam is finally breaking. I can even buy her not making the KGB connection before, even though others here feel there's no way she shouldn't have put that together. When she asked I half-expected him to say he works for the Russian government, not KGB. (Yes the USSR is considered evil at this time, but KGB sounds much worse IMO. More explicit.) Yes, he's a spy, but is he a SPY-spy? Like what Paige wanted to know -- do you hurt people? That's what I see Martha wondering. Being an asset is different from being an agent, she's still hoping he's an asset or was coerced or isn't really "that bad". (Despite having the answer, she knows they killed Gene for her.) She's been hoping for an outcome she can live with and her mind has gone full pretzel-logic to protect that. It's been interesting to me to hear from other commenters their perception of America's fear of Soviet aggression at this time. (Generally as a proof point that Martha/Tim should know better.) Maybe I was just a little too young -- I'm a year or two younger than Henry -- but I don't recall being scared at all or hearing much about it in school or at home. It was there, but minor.
