    The NBA

On a brighter note, the Pistons' sole remaining national TV game got yanked. Lol.

Detroit/Houston AKA Twin Night: It was a four-point game at halftime but the Rockets scored 47 points in the third quarter and Detroit got whooped by twenty-three. [136-113.] EDIT: @Salacious Kitty proved to me I can't do math :p.

Did they get someone great this summer I don't know about, or is it just Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert figuring it out after the trade last year?

    The NBA

Don't count them out. They have fifty games left this season.

They can start a new losing streak on Monday when they play the Rockets, @Magog!

Toronto traded OG. Anunoby plus two others to New York this morning/afternoon. Consequently, they are without those players (and the Knicks players they get in return) for the Detroit game that starts now-ish. Edit at the end of the game: And the streak is over at 28. Dammit. Detroit wins 129-127. How embarrassing, Toronto.

    The NBA

DETROIT BLEW A 20-POINT LEAD IN THE THIRD, managed to tie it up at the end, and lost in overtime 128-122. The streak continues at 28! Tied the all-time record! Next up: Toronto (12-18) on Saturday!

    OVERTIME!

    The NBA

Boston (or Toronto, or whatever team inevitably loses to Detroit) will never live it down all season. Lol.

Update at halftime: This is embarrassing, Boston.

I've been following the play-by-play on ESPN each night to bring y'all the updates and if the last five minutes of the Brooklyn game is anything to go by I don't think Detroit stumbling their way into a win will be a problem. Lmao. Detroit turned the ball over three times in the last fifteen seconds. When they weren't turning it over, they were either bricking shots or fouling.

    The NBA

Detroit was actually up 22-8 in the first quarter and kept the score within single digits for the majority of the second half, and that made me nervous (and Cade Cunningham going off for 41), but Detroit blew it as per usual and ended up losing 118-112. They now have sole ownership of the single-season losing streak at twenty-seven games! :D. National TV should start showing some of these games for the LOLs.

Counseling and Zoom meetings with the league? Seriously? I'm giving it under a month after he comes back for how long it takes him to do something stupid again to someone else.

    The NBA

That is...incredibly and unbelievably sad. I read a comment somewhere on one of the Reddit threads that ironically this losing streak is the most relevant and interesting the Pistons have been in years. Lmao 😆

    The NBA

Brooklyn, again, on the 26th. Boston on the 28th, Toronto on the 30th. Toronto would be #29 and give them the overall record entirely.

    The NBA

Nets blew it open in the third and won by eleven. Detroit ties the single-season streak at 26!
  19. LexieLily

    The NBA

Other teams should theoretically play hard because they don't want to be the ones Detroit wins against, right?

    The NBA

Utah was on the second night of a back-to-back last night. Their third game in four nights. Eight players out due to various injuries including four of their top seven scorers. Detroit still lost. And the streak marches on at 25. Tonight's (Saturday's) game against Brooklyn can tie the single-season record of 26. Game #29 (beating the overall record for ineptitude at 28 games) is next Saturday at Toronto.

Hee, I did see someone make a tweet graphic to that effect, yes :) I'm not sure who I'm supposed to feel sorrier for in that equation, Detroit or Draymond. Lol. In other NBA-related news, Ja Morant is scheduled to return tonight from his twenty-five game suspension, Draymond's "indefinite suspension" could last a minimum of three weeks, and Miles Bridges of the Hornets was denied entry into Canada.

    The NBA

And the streak goes on to 24! Detroit kept it close for a good while but ultimately ended up losing to Atlanta by six.

    The NBA

Poor San Antonio and Washington expended all of their energies on winning last night. Both of them promptly went back to their losing ways tonight: San Antonio got whooped 146-110 by the Pelicans, and Washington squandered a fifteen point, second-half lead on their way to a 112-108 loss to Phoenix.

    The NBA

Detroit: The streak marches on to 23! [Lost to Milwaukee 146-114]. Yes, I am going to update after every game. They're so close to the record, they might as well have something to show for their ineptitude and end up in the history books. 🫢

Me too, I was rooting for both streaks to continue. But on the plus side, the Lakers have to be embarrassed to be the one that the Spurs finally beat. 🤭
