  1. I think the DNA test is still stupid, because those tests are not accurate. There have also been cases where white supremacists have taken the tests to see just how white they are, but since there's always a room of error, the testers just put a certain small percentage (that doesn't account for much) as black just to mess with them. It's incredibly funny, but not accurate. For those like me who come from Africa, it's even harder to get a reading because the DNA testing centers don't have a lot of our blood to begin with. So if I take it, it might just say "East African" without an actual breakdown because they don't know. And if you send your DNA to different places, you'll get different results. They can't really tell you about your ancestry, even though they claim to. Warren may have done this to get back at Trump and make him pay up for a charity, but she shouldn't have had to in the beginning.
  2. Now that we've seen Abby and Meghan together, I'm going to come out and say I prefer Abby on the panel so much more than Meghan. Abby mentions her family and whatnot when the topic pertains to it and she provides real world examples. Instead of, "I have a good friend like this and my dad is this and I love the constitution...blah blah blah." She'll say, "I come from a big family, so when it comes to big events, we do have to be mindful of one another and really think of when we announce things." Then she related a story of her sister ending her engagement and Abby was getting married, which I think is a valid way to put it. She relates her life to the topic, instead of making the topic about herself. She also lets others speak. This is important. She also tries to participate in every topic, even the fluffy sex ones and I've noticed that she'll try to bring others into the topic too. Sometimes she'll ask Sunny if this is correct or say, "Meghan might feel the same." She doesn't try to force her opinion or say she's speaking for a group of people, she'll just say her views which is the point of the show. I may not agree with her, but she's allowed to have opposing views and speak about them. She seems to enjoy herself at the table and is always smiling and laughing. Whoopi may not like her, but I feel like Joy and Sunny do. Not as much as Paula, but I think she might get there. I agree with this. I think it would help her with her grief and help her remember the good times and not the pain from the last year.
  3. It was campy, but an okay pilot. I might be the only one, but I was okay with Harry. His nonchalant manner when healing people was funny almost like he knows that he has to do it, but he finds it all so tedious. I hope he's not super good or super bad. I also liked that Macy was able to solve one of the problems using science as oppose to looking at the book. My only issue is that I feel like they crammed too much into the pilot. I almost wish that the episode ended when everyone was on the bed and then the next episode deals with the actual demon. I thought Mel was a bit much too. I also got confused between Mel and Maggie. They really do look like they'd be sisters, while Macy looks like the odd/tall one out. I know the original sisters are not going to be making a cameo on this show, but I'd love for Cole to come back and for them to acknowledge that he's a good guy and not the Source of all Evil and everything bad in Phoebe's life. Maybe he saves them and they thank him for his help or something and we learn that he's been saving witches all over for whatever redemption they made up and now he's free and can finally leave in peace. I think that's the only cameo that I'd enjoy seeing.
  4. Being 1/32 Native American means nothing....I don't get why this is a thing. It reminds me of this one Instagramer who says she's part black when she is like 2% via DNA testing and now she thinks it's okay to say the n word. The Senator reminds me of the reason why people dislike politicians so much. They may say that they're against something and speak out about things, but when push comes to shove they'll vote in line with their party's interests. And when you really listen to them, you realize that they don't do much. (I don't want to quote Abby and Meghan, but this is something you'll find on both sides)
  5. Climate change isn't a bipartisan issue, it's a human one. I know Meghan said that it's number 15 when it comes to things that American's care about, but if you are worried about jobs, industry, family and terrorism, then you need to care about climate change. How will you be able to grow food, if your land is drying up and there's no rain? How will you focus on trade to get the food, if you slap tariffs on everything causing countries to do the same to you? How will you then pay farmers for loss of wages, without tackling the core issue? How can you think about coaling, if it will damage the environment and cause medical problems with workers? Climate change ties everything together. I don't get how that's not important. He loves the idea of women, because he wants to have sex with them, but he doesn't respect them which is different.
  6. Seems like a pretty uneventful week, but we'll see. I don't think Whoopi will be in on Friday, so I'm interested in seeing how Joy moderates then.
  7. I wonder if Yvette's comment about Melania being a mistress is the reason why the videos are still not up on YouTube. She did say allegedly afterwards, which would probably help with lawyers, but that still isn't a reason to not post the videos. I don't get what's going on.
  8. She didn't keep silent. The Melania guy did and seemed like he wouldn't answer her directly. Maybe that's when someone yelled in Abby's ear to ask about love question instead for fear of a lawsuit, which he answered immediately. I would show the clip of it, but it's still not up on their YouTube, Facebook or Twitter. I'm not sure if Yvette was showing a face at Abby's interruption, but it seemed like she was side eyeing the guy during the entire interview. Even at the end of the interview when he scolds everyone to respect the first lady, Yvette said 'allegedly' multiple times with regards to the mistress comment, so I think it was the producers who tried to get rid of that question as quickly as possible. On that note, why haven't the View updated their YouTube page yet? It's usually up by 1pm EST.
  9. I've felt this way since the first episode. I really hope it doesn't go there and that the single parents don't ever hook up with one another. They can be with others, but not each other.
  10. When she first said it, he just kept silent so Abby switched the question up for him to answer. Then he addressed it at the end by scolding everyone that they need to respect the first lady. It was just awkward.
  11. The interviews today have been a bit of a mess and no one is taking the reigns to lead. Meghan didn't even say much during the Melania one. (I don't remember the guy's name) "You go ahead, no you, no you." What was that?
  12. I don't get why the View keeps booking more than one guest when they have View Your Deal on the same day. It always feels like they are rushing through things when they do that.
  13. I hope you didn't take what I said as a dig at you. I'm was just fascinated by the discussion, because Abby, Meghan and Whoopi all said the same thing but I suspect more people will be going after Abby, because her comments came right before Yvette's yay moment.
  14. Here's what is interesting though, Meghan pretty much said the exact same thing as Abby, only she added stuff about her husband and her house decor. But she didn't really have much push back. When Abby went on to continue Meghan's point, without the extra stuff there, that is when Yvette and Sunny went in more. Then Meghan was allowed to say the same exact same thing again, but nothing. I almost feel bad for Abby, because every yay moment from Yvette and Sunny came in response to something Abby said.
  15. I feel like even if he did that, he'd still get hated on after. His team just doesn't like him.
  16. Jeff Astrof has been posting deleted scenes on twitter. Some are quite fun. https://twitter.com/jeffastrof
  17. I would think that they don't tell the family who purged their son, only because it would make the family go after Alison during the next purge. We know that Alison killed the guy, but if the son was just out and about then it would be harder to find out who killed him. In Purge Anarchy (the third one) there was a pick up service that drove around and picked up the dead bodies littered everywhere.
  18. Jenna was a bit much, no? She complains about how her husband is, but at the same time she also cheated with someone the maid said wasn't innocent. It was almost like she was lashing out at him, because there was no one else there to take her anger out on. He may be trying to prove something, but I think she doesn't really understand how those less fortunate really deal with life. I also think she's blinded by Lila that she didn't realize that she left her husband for her when the maid warned her to go. Both checked out of their marriage, but she's trying to make herself feel better which is annoying. I hope that they stay together, or Lila kills Jenna's husband and after the purge ends she realizes how big of a mistake that is and how much she doesn't actually know about Jenna. Trading one 'dangerous' person for another would be interesting to see. I can see Lila being the one setting up I feel for Jane, but I think her shock is now gone so I'm interested in seeing what she does next. Lesser Baldwin is creepy, but when I saw what his kind of purge was I thought, "Well, at least it's not rape...." then I felt dirty. On a side note, CollegeHumor once did a funny bit about the Purge that talked about the technicalities of it. I thought it was pretty funny.
  19. Absolutely. I just brought up Jeannie, because talking about not wanting kids is something she's done since the beginning of the show and she faced tons of criticism for her comment, especially when she mentioned that her husband, who didn't want kids at first and then changed his mind, wanted kids. A lot of people who watch the Real are religious or minorities and our communities really push this idea that kids are things women should aspire to have. Meghan has mentioned not wanting kids a few times, but I don't think she's ever faced the same level of backlash as Jeannie and Jeannie has continued being open and transparent about her views.
  20. I would have liked a longer segment with the woman who was sent to jail for her boyfriend's crimes. I almost feel like the spot between her and NPH should have switched.
  21. I agree with Yvette that marriage is a business contract. In Islam, the rules for marriage is under the business section of most books, so I was glad to see that someone not Muslim felt the same way.
  22. I have a feeling that I know what the users here will complain about with regards to today's episode. During Cardi's AMA and the topic being women not letting pregnancy stop them from having it all, Meghan brought the topic back to her and not wanting kids. And during a topic about suicide, she brought it back to her grief for her father. I'm okay with both, since they're kind of on topic, but at the same time it stalls the conversation. Her not wanting a kid isn't that big of a deal. Jeannie Mai mentioned it on the Real many times about her views and had people bash her, since she said her husband of ten+ years wanted kids. They ended up divorcing over the issue and she still got heat for not giving into his need for a child. So Meghan isn't the only one who took heat for her views. It's been a lot less than what I've seen with Jeannie. She did also bring up Veteran suicides when the topic was about teen suicides, which I thought was more annoying than her bringing up her grief.
  23. Why is everyone bashing Chris? I was happy he won tattoo of the day, just to shut everyone up. Also, why is Amanda gunning for Austin? Tony said he wanted to go after Tim, which is a good strategic move since he's one of the better artists on the team, and she goes after Austin who will go in the bottom regardless. I almost wish Cleen saved Austin instead of Tiffer just so someone from Team Christian went home. I do feel bad for Austin. He came in full of arrogant confidence and then let the stress get to him where he doubted everything he did.
  24. I liked that Yvette talked about the culture of dude-bros and man babies. I just wish she or Sunny mentioned how that viewpoint is only acceptable when a white male of privileged does something wrong. The swimmer dude, Trump, Billy Bush, etc... Unfortunately, when a black person or POC does nothing he's seen as an adult regardless of what they do. Trayvon was never seen as a kid in the media. Tamir Rice wasn't seen as a kid. It's unfortunate, but at least she managed to talk about how there needs to be consequences to bad behaviour. At least she got to say that before Meghan made the topic about herself.
  25. I think Sunny wants Abby and Meghan to be transparent and explain why women like them are okay with what's going on. It does sound naive when she says it, but I think it's because Abby and Meghan don't provide a straight answer, so she keeps asking it hoping that they'd say something else.
