  1. Oh yes, we've belabored this point quite a few times here. But I guess in Bell-land, biology trumps all else. And you can go ahead and say highly insulting (to Li)...no need to soften it. For me, the difference here is that Steffy grew up with Thomas. That forged the bond between them that goes beyond biology. That's why the Finn "I have to know and bond with Sheila" nonsense is such garbage. Li should disavow Finn as her son. That's quite surprising given what I've been watching about demographics - not just in the Western world, but worldwide. [Basically except for Israel and a number of African nations, the world is running out of babies and that has huge implications on many levels. One factor in folks having lots of kids is being (very) religious. I don't know about JMW's religiosity but she doesn't seem Orthodox Jewish or Amish or Mennonite...
  2. Wow, this must have happened after I stopped watching the show because I don’t remember Cruz being with Kelly Capwell at all. I only recall him with Victoria (and recall Robin Wright’s Kelly with Joe…uh, Joe Frobisher?).
  3. I don't remember much about that whole "Elizabeth as a hostage in the saloon" episode where Jeanette was apparently mentioned, but the show did lay the groundwork for "shady (businessman) Lucas" in the past. I still have a vague memory of someone (Fiona?) accidentally seeing a bunch of rifles underneath something else in a crate Lucas had delivered to his saloon. Lucas was also defensive about his past in New Orleans. In my estimation, I think WCTH intended to start with shady businessman Lucas, then reversed course when they had to "white hat" him to pair him with Elizabeth. But...the seeds of mysterious, shady Lucas were there. I also have zero knowledge about Kevin McGarry's contract situation with the show, but if Fiona has indeed been written out forever, I wonder if he will follow his IRL fiancee outta the show...? So since it's obvious this season is about pairing Elizabeth and Nathan, let that happen. Then, let this show end - permanently (which should have been done 4-5 seasons ago, imo).
  4. Once you go down the route of: Multiple devil possessions zombies walking/interacting among Salemnites Mission Impossible type face masks chip implantation to make someone think they’re someone else multiple resurrections via Rolf miracles there’s no coming back, and anything - anything at all the show introduces which is kinda, sorta “real life” will seem like the most rigorous peer reviewed thing in history!
  5. Uh, ok, but females are born with all the eggs they will have/ovulate. So with all these 50+ women on Days, were all their eggs gone from their ovaries? If yes, did they have donor eggs (rhetorical since I know the answer is no) in order to get pregnant?! Still doesn’t pass the IRL science test.
  6. Not just that, but the writers really screwed themselves having Sheila cut off a toe. Beggars belief that Sugar: 1) cut off the exact same toe Sheila did; and if so 2) no one in prison was aware of it
  7. I know nothing about the whole Sheila/Sugar saga except what Lauren told Deacon in the last 1-2 episodes…but Lauren did tell him Sugar is still in jail. So why do they still think it’s possible Sugar was the person cremated?! Just go to the fricking prison where Sugar might be and see if she’s there and how many toes she has! It’s not rocket science, people!
  8. IF, IF, IF the show had started out from the very beginning as an "alternate" view of history a la Bridgerton, then I could handle all the modern PC (and I'm a progressive!) stuff the show has introduced over the years. But, as we know, WCTH never started that way...so all these anachronisms are jarring and stick out like an elephant at a funeral.
  9. Please correct me, but I think the reason Lauren was the only person who believed Deacon that Sheila might still be alive is because Lauren is the only one who knows that Sugar had ‘Sheila facial surgery’. Maybe if everyone who Deacon told knew about the Sugar clone, they’d think Sheila could be alive too.
  10. With today’s flashback, you can see the work the actress who plays Lauren has done to her face. Ironic because she was telling the story of how Sugar had face work done to look like Sheila! Anyhoo, I remember when I was a kid and first saw Lauren on Y&R, I thought her front teeth looked weird but they no longer look strange to me, so the actress got her teeth worked on as well.
  11. Question: what did Kon say to justify him staying in the US? What's his cover story? We know he wants to get Maggie's money, but what explanation did he invent to cover for suddenly abandoning his restaurant and life in Greece? So he’s an illegal immigrant? Looks like the illegal immigrant issue isn’t confined to the border with Mexico!
  12. Everyone sang the “Happy Birthday” song to Nathan. Was that song common knowledge at that time? (Was the song even written at that time?!)
  13. I’ve long since stopped fretting about this show’s anachronism in fashion (hair and clothes). Sorry to flog this horse again, but why did WCTH reverse course and is now having Nathan and Elizabeth get together? Was it really only because the show has a new show runner? And does anyone feel the show did enough in the last 1-2 seasons to lay the seeds for this reversal?
  14. I know Eric has/had romantic relationships with Brooke and Donna, but I don’t recall him hooking up with Beth or Katie…? But I do recall there was a time it seemed the writers wanted to “go there “ with Eric and Katie when she bought a house next to Eric.
  15. If Jarly = Jax and Carly, no thanks. I was there at the beginning of Jax and Brenda and always shipped this couple, through all their ups and downs. “Nobody leaves.”
  16. FYP. The B&B writers still live in pre-womens’ lib 20th century.
  17. Huh, wow - I’m a little surprised this interview makes it so clear that S11 will be Nathan/Liz. What I don’t quite understand is this interview says the reason Elizabeth is turning to Nathan is because she’s finally “out of her cocoon”. ??? Granted, I don’t pay close attention when watching the show, and have fast forwarded within episodes, but how was she not out of her cocoon the entire time she was with Lucas? Two more things: 1) I don’t like Liz’s new haircut (underwhelming and is just a short version of her usual long hair); 2) Kevin is the WCTH version of Marvel Cinematic Universe Mark Ruffalo: spilling spoilers/plot. 😀🤣
  18. Hi, @Retired at last, regarding the bolded, do you mean Days has never had the same actor/actress playing two different characters? Actually, the actor currently playing Roman played a character named Chris many, many decades ago AND the actor who occasionally plays Rex used to play Brady AND the actress playing Ava used to portray Nicole’s sister (I can’t remember the sister’s name). Am I forgetting any other examples, long time Days watchers?
  19. But why? It seemed pretty definite- and final - that Elizabeth chose Lucas at the end of S9? (maybe 8?) so I don’t understand why the show might now make Elizabeth have a romance with Nathan. That seems disrespectful to Lucas, the Lucas shippers, and the writing from what came before. And this is coming from me - a Nathan/Liz shipper! Will the show just have Elizabeth ping pong back and forth between the two men every season? Pick a lane and stick with it, WCTH!
  20. What the heck changed? Based on the preview, they’re revisiting Elizabeth and Nathan again! The Lizzy/Lucas ‘shippers must be furious…..unless….it’s yet another bait and switch from the show. The potential yo-yo must be so damn infuriating given the season 8? 9? finale had Elizabeth choosing Lucas - and I’m a Nathan/Liz ‘shipper! 🤪
  21. I’m not a big Royal watcher so this is the first time I’m seeing Kate and this dress. Not only is the dress itself amazing, Kate looks sensational wearing it. Soooo gross if Finn ends up as Luna’s father. Yes, it makes Li’s rage waaaay more logical, but still gross if a nephew impregnated his aunt. (Yeah, yeah, not blood aunt, but still…) What is this?! A V.C. Andrews production! 🤪
  22. I guess I can sort of buy Sarah supporting/defending Dan on principle because he’s her brother, but correct me if wrong - Sarah and Dan never actually interacted, right?
  23. Well, IIRC, neither spent any time together as siblings or anything else. So since we didn’t see it on screen or even have anyone mention that they spent time away from Salem as siblings, why would the viewers even think of Sarah and Dan the Tan Man as sister and brother? In other words, show better not try to shoehorn some great sibling bond between Sarah and Dan (and maybe even their children).
  24. I haven't seen the promos of which you speak, but if the person who got the haircut is Elizabeth - THE main character - uh oh! It could be a Felicity moment for the show. I'm showing my age with this reference. Narrator: when Felicity - the main character in the eponymous show cut her hair at the start of a new season, the show's ratings tanked and the producer joked that no one else would ever be allowed to cut their hair! 🤣
  25. Aaaah, since my free trial to MGM+ ended, I've only kept up on this show via this forum. OK, now it makes sense how Susan and Oliver had a second child, as James was not actually Oliver's son. It just didn't make sense to me given the events of the first Belgravia series (which I now own on DVD) that Oliver could sire a child. What I still don't understand is - not having watched this series since my trial ended at episode 2 - why Oliver seemed to make James his favorite. Did Oliver not know that James is not his bio child? (We've known since Belgravia 1.0 that Oliver knows he's not Frederick's bio dad.)
