  1. I completely agree. So tired of hearing, and you're only 14!!!!!!!! The only young one who connected with the lyrics and feeling and showed true artistry/originality I felt was Sarah Grace.
  2. I don't get the Chevel thing. I like Country Music along with other genres, and felt nothing when she sang. It seemed from iTunes that Kirk Jay was really popular. Kennedy will do well I feel without the show. I would have loved for Makenzie to win and thought Sarah Grace had a lot of depth. As far as Chris, I don't hate him like so many here do, because I actually enjoy his voice. He is super shy though and not a performer. Oh well, maybe next season...
  3. Well, pretty much everything has been said. Here. On Twitter. And on Adam's Instagram where people are venting their frustrations. He really screwed the pooch. And btw, on Twitter, it showed #VoiceSaveDeAndre trending higher than she who shall not be named. Many people from different areas posted screenshots. And how convenient, that it was 1%. How in the world could they be completely accurate in such a short time when it should have been analyzed more closely. Adam's move was a total dick move. No way around it. Not to mention, Reagan's horrendous performance last night. DeAndre's face said it all. Also, I just want to add that this ambiguous 'sick' nonsense is bs. Either say, she strained her vocal chords, she has the flu (in which case wtf is she doing there), she has laryngitis or whatever. Instead, it was this vague 'sick' with Carson seeming to not know where she even was half the time or what was going on. If you ask me, I'm sure she knew that she was in the Bottom 3. If she wasn't, I bet she would have been dressed and on the stage and would move through (mute or not). I think this was planned because of the poor performance and low number of votes. To be standing there in that oversized bathrobe with full hair & makeup and tweeting and retweeting everyone's tweets to save her was messed up. She wasn't too sick for that apparently. And, yes, as has been mentioned before, many contestants have been at the doctor's day of performances or saves and Philip Phillips on AI performed with kidney stones more than once so gmafb.
  4. Kyla was at the doctor's (pic on twitter) as she had overdone it voicewise, so perhaps that affected her tonight. I am so not a fan of big voices, but, for some reason, I really like Kyla. I loved 'Let It Be' and it gave me chills in a season where most performances didn't. I think she has beautiful vocal dynamics and I got to see the angelic side of her voice in her two other performances. I thought her duet with Blake was lovely. Spensha is fine. I like her but wasn't wowed. I'd like to see her succeed after this and am sure Blake will help her out when he can. I am not a Brynn fan. I just see an Ariana Grande imitation and I also felt that Kelly singing with her pointed out her limitations especially on a song I love. I don't know what to think of Britton. I think he's getting there and finding his own voice and identity as a musician, however, I thought that performance of Good Lovin' was so weird and off. Just came across as too try-hard. Did not like his original at all. Did not like Brynn's either. Repetitive can be catchy, but that just was way too repetitive for me. So.... let's see. The show was pushing Brynn and seems to want a younger person to win. Kyla's performances were all finished early. I think it may be between Britton and Brynn. If so, I hope it's Britton as I feel he has more originality and is much more interesting. However, I actually think Kyla is the best voice there, and, though she probably won't win, she is far above the others in that respect.
  5. If I were a truly skeptical person, I would think that the show made sure Brooke advanced so that Miley would be in the finals. I didn't think she would have the third spot. I thought that would be either Red or Noah. I mean, the show really tried. They put Red first and Brooke last and Noah had good placement, also a duet with Chloe to help. Also, for the singoff, they had Red first and Noah last. In fact, if I were really skeptical I would think that Adam was in there to split the country vote, so that Noah would advance. They really wanted Chloe, Addison, Noah and Brooke. It was fun to watch the percentages be so close. That usually doesn't happen with the twitter save. I thought Noah might get it since twitter audiences skew younger, but, I'll be honest and say I never liked his singing, so I'm fine with the results.
  6. I’ve tried to get the Noah thing and stay open-minded but I don’t get it nor care. Not a fan of most. Chloe is my favorite as she’s just real raw and genuine. Love her voice and personality. Addison is good but I prefer Chloe. I’m also a Janice fan. And just cause so many sound alike to me this season and because I enjoy his performances, unlike most here, I hope Red sticks around for a while.
  7. Am I the only one annoyed by Chris's performances? After Monday's show, I was hoping for anyone to win over him - Lauren first, then Aliyah, then Jesse. I honestly do think JChosen was eliminated early so Chris would have less direct competition. Sorry to go back to that as it's old news. Some may say Alicia influenced Gwen, but, to choose Troy over JChosen was insanity given JChosen's success in the blinds and up to that point. Remember how Alicia hid behind her chair and everyone loved J? So odd. Meh season. Meh ending. Congrats to Chris and Alicia. I think Lauren will have the most success out of this bunch.
  8. Lauren for the win! Her voice is pure beauty. Hunter is systematically destroying my favorite songs. I love Aliyah's personality. The rest? Meh.
  9. Awful all around except for Lauren. I still blame Gwen for the JChosen fuckery. JC was miles above the others and way better than Chris Blue with his calculated conniptions. TSoul has the authenticity but not the voice. Brennley murdered the Joni Mitchell song. Lilli sounded like a drowning cat.
  10. Maybe someone can clarify this for me. Why was having complete strangers on a good idea? What I always loved so much about TAR were the relationships, the parent/kid, the sisters or brothers, even cousins, the occasional cool couple, best friends, twins, etc. Then they had the dating season (hated it), then the social media season (hated it), now, complete strangers. It seems they are trying to perhaps appeal to a younger audience, but, in fact, they are missing the key ingredient to what made this show so 'amazing' - the relationships! It isn't just about bickering strangers in beautiful places. While there are a few couples I don't mind, none of them are particularly interesting.
  11. I'm glad Sundance won and enjoyed watching his celebration with family and friends onstage. I was kind of surprised that We tackled that Barbra Streisand song and wondered if that was all Alicia's idea? I didn't watch this season much except the beginning and the end. How was her coaching? To be honest, I'd rather see Pharrell or Usher back than Gwen and Alicia. I thought Toyota giving them all home recording studios was very cool! Nothing stands out for me too much performance-wise. But, yes, I really wanted to hear Sting and couldn't hear him that well. To be honest, this never was an amateur singing show (referencing the post above). Not that I think people should come in with huge fanbases, but, even in the beginning I remember seeing Jordis and other performers from Rockstar:INXS (as well as their incredible band!). I see it more as those who maybe didn't have the right look or chance before or were playing in small venues and bars. Not that amateurs shouldn't try out of course! But, there have always been background singers, etc. I actually like this about the show as the talent is usually better than some other shows (AI, cough). I'm watching Jimmy Fallon and Niall Horan is on. It's funny, he looks like Billy, and sounds like him a bit, but, he seems connected to his music and to have the likeability factor. I think placement doesn't matter too much with The Voice. If someone wants to work with you, they will. I hope We gets some good musical direction and nurturing. She is truly unique. Rambling here.... I'm really happy Sundance won! Yes, that's how I see it. :)
  12. I'm not really qualified to judge anything here as I've missed most of the season (first time sitting it out for me). I started watching the blinds and drifted off somewhere and wasn't motivated to watch. Just happened to be home tonight and turned The Voice on. I decided I really had no dog in the race, so I could be somewhat objective. Truth is, I disliked Billy from the beginning. Then, when he came out with My Way, I cringed, then blanked it out. For me, he is like wallpaper singing. I don't get why Bieber endorsed him. Or, maybe I do. Blake's tweet to vote Sundance has 3,000 likes while Bieber's endorsing Billy has 30,000 likes. Hmmm. Apparently Billy's original is a Maroon 5 reject. I didn't really listen. As far as any Sinatra song, I don't like anyone else singing them. I believe there was some sort of retrospective a year or so back and I recall only liking Seth McFarland's versions. Certainly, not this dude. I.do.not.get.it. Seems this happens every season for me. I didn't 'get' Sawyer, Alisan or Jordan. Last season, I do remember liking Adam Wakefield. Anyhow, moving on. In the beginning when I watched, I did like We. I still think she has a unique voice, but, it didn't show up well tonight. Josh was like having country radio on in the background, which, yeah, fine, but. Generic. Nothing that makes him stand out whatsoever. Which brings me to Sundance. I remembered him from Idol, liked his audition and personality. I liked his original, liked At Last and loved him singing his Dad's song with Blake (with the dad in the background video and the audience). I can feel his heart when he's singing. And, ultimately, that is what made me decide I did have a dog in the race. Voted for Sundance and hope he wins. I definitely think it's between Billy and Sundance and I'm hoping somehow Sundance pulls out the win.
  13. There are lots of hints at shenanigans, but I'll take them to the grassy knoll thread if there is one.
  14. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about all of that. Not interested in arguing.
  15. I read articles where Adam said he was questioning it in interviews, but, they may have been unreliable. This interview actually confirms my hypothesis as it was the interviewer pushing strategy. Adam has said he misses Nashville and doesn't want to be away from home, on social media all the time and in hotel rooms. He is true to himself and the music. I love that and it definitely came through. Also, as has been said of so many second placers, I actually do believe he'll be able to do the music he wants.
  16. I was hoping for at least one surprise, but, it was all so predictable. Still, I think Alisan makes a great reality show winner and I'm actually glad Adam came in second. Not sour grapes; just I really don't think he wanted it.
  17. BluePiano, I agree with your entire post. If Adam doesn't win, I'd also love to see Hannah as winner. I went back and replayed Adam's earlier performances, and the contrast between them and last night is striking. I honestly don't understand it, but something just was not the same. Perhaps you're right that the bluesy, soul, even gospel influences weren't there. But, that is his single, with no input from Blake. He just seemed muted somehow and not himself. Alisan's song had three writers, but was instantly forgettable to me. In any case, if they wanted classic country, there are still much better songs to choose. I'm baffled. I think we'll see a different more spirited Adam tonight perhaps with Alison Krauss. I did love the fiddle player with him who is part of Blake's band, so talented.
  18. Yes, previous songs count too. I'm inclined to agree with you as my gut has said Adam since I first saw him in the blinds.
  19. The judges' duets don't count in the votes if I recall correctly which seems fair. Must be something wrong with my ears though, since I understand Adam all the time.
  20. I was looking around the net this morning and on every Voice article or site, there's so much fighting. People seem equally split among the four contestants. Maybe it's always been that way or maybe I never really looked. It would be kind of fun to see an upset. Looking back at some of Adam's past performances really has me thinking he doesn't want to win. Blake doesn't seem real interested in winning the show this season either. What I mean is, he seemed way too laid back and the songs weren't ones like 'Bring It On Home'. Maybe Hannah will win :P She does call the shots.
  21. Whoa! Adam actually got to #1 on ITunes, displacing Timberlake temporarily. Ha. Love it! I actually don't care who wins, as they all are talented, but that is cool.
  22. Since so many of us have differing opinions, which is cool, I'm going to throw it out there that based on the entire season, the artist who entertained me the most and who I hope wins is Adam. I've enjoyed every performance of his unlike most of the others. If he wins, I don't think it will have to do with Blake's country mafia, or whatever people are calling it these days. He fits in well with current country/bluegrass/blues and I imagine him being signed however it goes. Also, if that were true we'd have Mary Sarah up there. The producers want Alisan to win (pimp spot - huge song) etc. I'm so tired of being beaten over the head with it, even having Adam L declare her the "winner" tonight, that I actually don't care anymore if she does win. I think her place in music is less defined, though Broadway I can see. Last night on the Billboard awards, Kesha came out, sang "It Aint Me Babe", simply, brilliantly with no bells or whistles. I barely listen to Alisan when she sings and her duet with Christina really emphasized the warmth of Christina's tone to me, while highlighting the shrillness of Alisan's. But, if she wins, I wish her well. Hannah's song with Pharrell sounded cool due to the production (the original that is), but, I think anyone could have done it. Wasn't really a singer's song and not one that holds up well as it's so so repetitive. Y'all know I'm not a fan of Laith's voice, so, there's that. I'm glad he has had success from this show though. I thought Adam was somewhat lowkey tonight. He never comes across as desperate and I honestly don't think he is. He has put in his time in Nashville, playing keyboards and guitar for anyone needing it. He has paid his dues. I don't think he has a lack of personality, but, rather is somewhat shy. I think he puts it all into his music. I do think it came across well in "Soulshine" which he sang for his brother who had passed away. Also, as he has said, numerous times, he is not used to being out front. I still remember how Carrie Underwood was. I think if he starts to feel more confident and relaxed, his personality will open up more. His talent, love for music, and his artistry are what interest me more. I'm going with Adam, for the win. If not him, it'll be Alisan. Looking forward to seeing Paxton :).
  23. Sadly, ever since someone mentioned that Probst said Michelle was like Parvati, I had a feeling she would win or at least for sure be in the finals. Audible sigh. Going back to the vote when Aubry turned on Tai and didn't let him know that she was voting with Cyd and Michelle and Tai burned his advantage: Aubry had agreed with Tai that Michelle was a bigger threat than idiot Jason. They had Joe. Jason would likely have voted with them if it had been explained by anyone other than Tai. Tai had two votes. Big mistake, Aubry! I saw it then and I see it even more clearly now. That doesn't guarantee Aubry's victory, but it eliminates the "inoffensive" player which Michelle was. I disliked Debbie all around, especially her question about Tai's "multiple personalities" and how she said Scowling Scot was always smiling. What? Scot and Jason were bitter babies and both looked unhappy to even be at the reunion. Believe me, most of us were unhappy to see you two. I was surprised Tai didn't even get one vote and I honestly do think there was a language barrier with him. Lots of times I knew what he meant to say, but, he could never get the words out. It was clear much of it was lost in translation. As for Mark, sitting on Tai's lap, he was like a chicken lie detector. When Tai mentioned being intimidated by the huge trolls, he also went into a flapping frenzy. I don't think it was Tai's responsibility, but, rather, the freakin' show's to ensure Mark's safety. That was truly cold to leave Mark to the wolves, so to speak. I may be in the minority but I liked having money donated to an animal charity and didn't mind some going to Tai. I really miss that America's favorite player vote. Yes, out of the three, Aubry deserved it. Crappy crappy jury! Not impressed with this cast overall. Almost forgot, Caleb was looking healthy and happy to see he found a real relationship!
  24. That's interesting because Alisan tweeted to save Mary Sarah and Bryan too because Mary deserved it. Hmm...does that make Alisan less sympathetic because she didn't include Laith?
  25. Laith seemed to care only about Adam and Pharrell, not his fellow singers. I know I'm missing something with him since I do appreciate his guitar playing, but, he still seems like a good cover/bar band singer to me and, if I want to listen to Hendrix, I'm surely listening to the Hendrix cover of Dylan, not his. He also would bug me if I were in that said bar. Not a fan of his voice. Also, curious as to where Alisan fits in current music, though I could definitely see her on Broadway. I wouldn't buy her music though I do understand others don't feel the same. It's her tone that bugs me. I wouldn't mind if Hannah won. I think she's fresh and has an interesting and original take on songs and would like to hear more from her. My preference is, and has always been, Adam, from day one. His would be the type of music I love and I feel he's an extremely accomplished vocalist and musician. I'm fairly sure it will be between him and Alisan. Welp, at least each coach is still in it.
