  1. He was doing nothing because he knew he was about to die. He was coming to the end of his closed loop. He should have left Winterfell the moment Bran was born but timey-wimey stuff wouldn't allow it. I do not like human sacrifice no matter how you couch it. It almost makes me appreciate Ramsey. The high born screw over the low born again and again but he at least makes them suffer too.
  2. Vengeful may not be the right word. Catelyn was a spiteful person. Jon did nothing to her yet her treatment of him disproportionately mean given his minor threat to her children. It always seemed odd to me that the didn't make Ned suffer more. The book Tully's are collectively spiteful except her brother. Lucky for her Brandon was killed. He would have had more than one bastard.
  3. Tyrion is now complicit in the continuation of slavery. Should he be killed for it? Slavery for the cities in Essos is just a way of life until they find a better economic model. I can't say she was wrong to do what she did. She is welcome to execute all of Essos if it kills that storyline
  4. Jon had help doing all of his super things; Mormont's Sword, San's scheming and Mel's voudoo. Super Ramsey only needs his wits. There is no context for his magical powers.
  5. I enjoyed Sansa and Jon. Family stabilized him. I look forward to see what happens next. i am so tired of Super Ramsey and Cersei. Their evil seems to be magical but even the good guys are magical now. The show makes men seem like pigs. Women are often nothing more than objects. The comes across in the books as well. I was glad to see Dany pull off her Ocyober surprise and kill all those rapists. The Dothraki and Iron Born are both scum of the earth people but maybe having a strong woman ruler can actually turn them into a real force. if I'm voting to put someone on the Iron Throne today Dany gets my vote.
  6. How would the Faceless Men know how many brothers Arya has? Did they mean living brothers or have they been speaking to GRRM?
  7. Telling the world you stabbed a great man in the back is not something you want as part of history. Jamie killed a mad man and was vilified by other so-called honorable men. We like Howland Reed because he is pretty much a blank slate.
  8. Jon is back. I would have liked the entire episode to focus on him. The story moves ever so slowly. I like Sam and Gilly but I don't see what they do for the plot. Arya is one of my favorite characters but her little story isn't advancing. The Waif seems to be a sadist whose death I will appreciate. Dany is pretty useless without her dragons. I don't really need more scenes from Esos. Littlejon Umber was overacting so his part has to be a ruse and I also don't think that Shaggydog is dead. Osha is there to deal the killing blow to Ramsey. The only dire wolves that have been killed were essentially betrayed by their humans. The story loses something by removing Jon and Arya as wargs. Arya as a warg is more of a force without it she is just a child assassin. Jon as a warg might be able to influence the Walkers. I'm ready for all the Lannisters to die. Cersei is poised to return to her evil ways. I know that many are frustrated with Jamie's character being sacrificed for Cersei's. The guy is just a pretty killer. The Jamie/Brienne story never moved me. Diana Rigg is enjoyable to watch. I will take her over Dorne any day. Ser Alister never seemed as bad to me as the story lets on. He had every right not to like the Starks for all the bloodshed their honor wrought up Westeros. He met his end with dignity. Olly was high on my death list but there are many names to go.
  9. Nice episode. There can only be one Sith. Ramsey is more evil than his father so it makes sense that he survived. Is Arya going to have kill the mean girl or is the mean girl really Jaqen? I was was hoping that Jon would be resurrected on the funeral pyre and come out as a Targaryen. Glad to have him back however it happened.
  10. Sansa is a wannabe Southerner who had her own Septa. I would think that since she idolized Southern court life that she would know the words.
  11. The only reason I thought it in the books was because she uses glamours in the books. In particular she uses a glamour to make the Lord of Bones look like Mance Rayder and vice versa (and Mance is even given a ruby to maintain his glamour when he's away from Meli.) They don't do that in the show though, so I wasn't sure if she had this power. Maybe the people that have been sacrificed replenish Mel's necklace. She can't be that long-lived without a catch. That necklace has to contain some kind of life essence. She moved like an old person after removing it.
  12. I'm with you on this. Those girls are bastards so a legitimate relative would get to rule after Doran. Maybe they will give Dorne Dany and merge two uninteresting storylines together.
  13. I finally watched the episode last night. I was pleasantly surprised. Capaldi and Kingston have a great chemistry together. She actually made the show better. They should go out on a limb and make her the next companion. The story was enjoyable. The dialogue between the characters was good. The Doctor was always one step ahead ... good job!
  14. What am I watching? Rassilon can't be discarded so easily. If Gallifrey still exists why no other renegades? For a race this New Who insists on characterizing as evil they sure tow the line. The story was convoluted. Just let Clara die.
  15. The Glenn save was weak but I'm glad for all of you that wanted him to be alive. It is really hard to invest myself in the individual characters as they can be and are killed off so easily. Ron is a little sociopath in the making. Morgan got voted off the Island of Trust... good call. I think the tower should have caved in toward the initial collapse (fall away from the wall) but I didn't do well in statics class. If the town Glenn came from is so close why not trap the walkers there. Look at what the Wolves did at the warehouse.
  16. Clara's death is yet another due to the Doctor's influence despite what Moffatt said. There has been too much "magical" technology in this season. The show is leaning towards fantasy with more and more WTF conclusions. Arya Underfoot can't carry a season. The Doctor should have taken the girl to a planet of long lived people. She causes nothing but trouble here. Strangely she was nowhere to be found during the Zygon Farce. Wouldn't some of the Zygons have escaped to her little piece of Harry Potter's world? Is Clara is really dead? I would have expected Danny to come back to save her.
  17. Thanks Yugga. I toured a nearby plantation last summer (Oak Alley) that maybe be shown in an upcoming episode. I think I saw Sonny riding his motorcycle down a road lined with oak trees on both sides. I guess I will have to stick with show since it's filmed in my home state.
  18. The story literally put me to sleep. Did the writers take the week off?
  19. Does anyone know where the show is filmed? It looked like Louisiana to me. I liked the episode. There were enough story teasers to make me watch again. The martial arts was movie quality and there are no zombies (so far).
  20. I liked the episode. I'm amazed at how many little groups of survivors exist in close proximity. The Alexandrians were going to get slaughtered sooner or later. Daryl still has a lot of humanity left in him. How could he be related to Merle? He returns insulin, doesn't deflower virgins and protects those who trespass against him. Why did the couple turn on him and why do they leave so many of the turned with their brains intact? Abe's amorous intentions will likely stir some debate. We now have the star crossed lovers with a death wish meme.
  21. I didn't view Andrea or Lori negatively for their involvement with Shane. I was never sure if Lori cared for him or just used him to keep her family safe. Lori handled the situation poorly once Rick returned. This isn't a show about sex it is a show about death. There has been more murder (killing the living in malice) on the show than casual sex.
  22. Who are the toughest women on the show? Do those women have a male love interest? If Michonne looked liked Kerry Washington she would have plenty of guys and she would not be cast as a tough person. The comics have different rules. If Carol looked like Sharon Stone same as above. These people were caste like they are to fit a certain mold. A mold the writers thought we wanted to see. Rosarita is also tough. Though she is younger and more attractive by conventional standards she still has no real relationship. She is being used by Abraham. The softer women get the guys.
  23. Typical Doctor Who hypocrisy. I have loved this show since I was a boy but the endless sanctimonious preaching can be annoying. Bonnie is one of a long line of murderer that he protects. Why can't he find the Zygons a home instead of leaving a hostile alien force on Earth? He actions are again irresponsible.
  24. Ocean Chick said And Tara is getting her second girlfriend? And poor Carol and Michonne haven't yet found one guy friend? That stinks. It's tough to be a bad ass warrior woman - you don't get a mate unless you're a dorky woman who trips over her own feet, I guess. Better not get too good killing walkers and baddies, Jessie, or Rick will lose interest in you. Carol and Michonne are awesome fighters but nothing about them says "girlfriend material". That is more about how the characters are written than anything else. They are more plot devices than actual people. Do they have wants or desires? Andrea's tv character was written as a tough girl who needed a man but she was rewarded with a Shane quickie and The Governor.
