That didn't happen because they only said "When he told us this was going to happen". They never said on Stannis' orders Although I do think Stannis will be heading that way which is why I think he's going to beat the Boltons.

This doesn't make any sense to me because the prophecy isn't fulfilled. The point of the prophecy is to tell her when Drogo will return to her not when she'll bear a living child. If you want to count Drogon returning to her as Drogo returning to her then I have to say the prophecy was false. First she has to bear a living child for Drogo to return to her.

I believe there's an interview saying that GRRM had the prophecy in mind for Cersek from the beginning. Although if he didn't, I suppose GRRM wanted to deconstruct the Evil Queen from Snow White using Cersei.

Well it seems more like D & D made the decision to diverge rather than GRRM. D & D have twice gone on record saying that season 6 won't spoil TWOW aside from a few key elements. I'm guessing Jon's parentage is one of those things. Like Ellaria is a pretty peaceful person in the books and the Sand Snakes know now that Doran wants revenge the same as them so there would be no reason to kill him.

So something I was thinking about but it still doesn't make sense that it was Brandon that slept with Ashara not Eddard. It's just that Edric Dayne thinks it was Ned who was Ashara's lover not Brandon so I'm not sure why they would lie about it unless they were in on Jon Snow's secret parentage which I find unlikely.

From what I remember book Shae ran away from home because his dad was forcing himself on her as well as making her a scullion which is why Shae reacts so negatively when Tyrion tries to do the same And I believe the one time Shae tried to get him to stand up to his dad, Tyrion felt that he was being mocked and he slapped her for it Tyrion's sensitive to mockery

When I first started reading the books I kept thinking that Robb and Jon were virtually the same character. Honorable, kind, smart but then it hits you that there are some big differences between the two even in their intro scene. Robb is a lot warmer and optimistic than Jon who is cynical and sullen. Jon has a lot of issues with feeling inferior stemming from his bastardry. Robb doesn't. Rohb is warm to his men and Jon is more cold and distant like Ned. Robb loves Theon. Jon hates him. Robb doesn't engage in intrigue. Jon does. Funnily enough both Robb and Jon are oath-breakers.

I agree but they could've at least had tried to keep Richard Madden's face shaved. At least it would've made him look younger Anyways I would've probably cast younger for Robb and Jon and even Daenerys. Not even in season 1 could I believe they were 17. They all looked like they were in their mid 20's.

The idea that they could've done more with Robb with a different approach is on the money. Theyr should've focused more on Robb being a young boy trying to shoulder the responsibilities of a man and King. I would've liked more focus on his learning and adapting. One thing I wish had really made it in is his conversation with Cat right before the Red Wedding where he talks about the Mudds, his heir, what he thought being a king was about and where he stubbornly refuses to make peace with the Lannisters .

According to GRRM, Littlefinger is the most different from his book counterpart in season 1. [ ]There's a short video on GRRM about LF: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MtYhmD2TZs0 Basically LF alternates between seeing Sansa as his could have been daugher with Cat, another piece to move around and Cat reborn.

Those are obviously not going to be the same, but right there we have a lot we can reasonably expect. There's a ton the fandom suspects will happen, so (for example) we are not going to be terribly surprised if Dany ends the season with the Dothraki fighting united behind her. For the other stories, of course we are going to be spoiled on the broad strokes. Cersei's trial will have to be resolved and how she continues from there. That's a broad stroke that I think would be hard to work around. I'm of the mind that there won't be a ton of surprising stuff this season due to extensive fan speculation and them reaching back into books 4 and 5, but enough that we're going to be spoiled on some big things. I am resigned to it. Plus I don't trust the showrunners on this - of course they would want to scratch George's back while also convincing people that really, they can watch the show no matter how die-hard a book fan they are. Yeah but they've already been prepping us for a while that the show is going to get further and further from the books. This is confirmation of that. And I think it's noteworthy that they said there will be some key similarities rather than there will be some key differences. That strongly implies that there will be more differences than similarities. Also are we even doing a trial by combat in the show?
