First of all, when I saw the 3 finalists again, I was once again reminded how these women (who all look better than I do) are so underwhelming. So many more-beautiful women have already gone home.
I was also really put off. Gerry told 2 women he loved them, and told 3 families that he loved their mother/grandmother/sister and might marry them. Two families are going to feel like they have been lied to, and are all going to be hurt and humiliated and have to deal with their heartbroken family member who everyone thought had finally found love again. This is going to be a lot more devastating than a 30-year old from regular Bachelor who will go out to the club this Friday and meet someone else.

If I had to spend an extended period of time with Kendra, Bruce and Sifu and their ridiculous mugging, I'd quit too.
As for J's ouster, it was unanimous. We saw her bad strategy by taking the blame for the Sifu vote, which was not hers, and she pissed off Austin over the sandwich, which he made sure everyone knew, thus outing her amulet. Plus her supposed alliance-mates Dee and (blonde lady whose name I don't know) quite eagerly floated her name. Sometimes you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, and sometimes you're an easy vote because people don't like or trust you.

Personally, as long as he's not a troll, I'll take handy over handsome (or financially well-off) every time. A rich boyfriend is not going to pay for your plumber, but your handy boyfriend can fix the leak so you don't need to call a plumber.

And Jeff was thoroughly disgusted by them, unlike this season where he pretends they were voted out. Sounds like he's having some production meetings to make sure it doesn't happen again, but he was pretty easy the quitters.

I *still* can’t tell Leslie and Faith apart.
Leslie is the pathetic one who can't focus on anything but her love for Gerry and her nervousness and upset when he talks to anyone else. She's whiny and I don't like her. Faith at least seems like she can hold it together when Gerry isn't with her.

99% of the annoyance calls I get are looking for "Linda." They seem to think there are a lot of befuddled old ladies out there with that name who will fall for their scams.
Imagine if your name was Karen.....................
I am not a fan of Theresa or her awful lipstick and I cannot tell Faith and Leslie apart. I think one rode a motorcycle and the other one frets every week during the rose ceremony, but am willing to admit these could be the same person. I really liked Sandra last week (she is stunning for 75!) and if she and her daughter are both ok with her missing the wedding, then I have no opinion, but I did find it rather ridiculous that she ate the ice cream if she knew she was going to get sick. I'm sure they could have come up with something else for her.
I also thought it was hilarious that when I Googled to see the contestants' names, I picked the first site to come up (Cosmopolitan, which I haven't read for 25 years) and the 'fun fact' about Susan is that she dreams of having lunch with Kris Jenner. I'm guessing we're not the first ones to notice the resemblance.

Theresa received the final rose as a warning. Gerry sees the disingenuousness, thanks to Kathy.
He must really like her. It seemed to me to be the perfect opportunity to get rid of both and I wonder if she will come to the same conclusion and then milk that for all it's worth.

I'm gonna get hate for this, but I think it's primarily related to casting mostly 20-somethings, most of whom have never experienced a moment of discomfort, and almost all of whom are woefully unprepared. The first girl left after 3 days! She was hungry and wet and had suffered enough. Brandon was a mega fan of the show but didn't spend 5 minutes getting ready by losing weight, getting in shape or even practicing puzzles. He thought his great personality (of which we saw no evidence) could carry him through. I FF through Sean's tearful story at Tribal (who cares) and stopped just as he said he wanted to leave. I did enjoy the look on Peachy's face; I thought he was pretty ok with the first girl quitting (he referred to it as getting voted out, which is technically correct but doesn't really explain what happened) but last night he seemed to realize this was not just a one-off. It makes me wonder if players in future seasons might be more likely to just quit when they suspect they might be on the bottom.
I find Bruce really attractive physically, but that shit would get old pretty fast.

Leslie I like the most, she's very youthful looking and I liked her saying she turned off her hearing aid when those two were squabbling.
Isn't she the one who spends the entire rose ceremony fretting about whether Gerry will give her a rose, he didn't spend any time with her, he's looking at the other women, he seems to like someone else, what if he doesn't pick her, and on and on. I get insecurity, but geez, get a grip or move on.
I haven't liked Theresa from the beginning. She does seem braggy, based on being the first date and how much they connected, but I just don't like her and she needs to learn the hard lesson I learned years ago - lose the bright red lipstick.

I liked Sabiyah, but dang, she read that whole thing wrong. Why she thought it was smart to target Kaleb so soon I can't figure out. They aren't anywhere close to the end, and Lulu didn't exactly have a strong winning streak going.
Especially since Kaleb almost single-handedly won the reward challenge for them.

Gross! If this is true, I might nope out now. I don't get it. When I was 24, there wasn't enough money in the world to make me date a 71-year old man.

Yup. There's a reason why some of us brunettes suddenly become blondes as we get older, including some of us who were in our 30s at the time the decision was made (though I'm shocked that this comes as a surprise to anyone.)
I too thought the grey-haired lady from the first night was beautiful, but I will go to my grave believing that gray hair makes everyone look older and I don't care how it's styled or how confidently you wear it.

Last comment about this, honest.
I would argue that for someone who had spent their life watching Survivor and dreaming of being on it, 'trying' might have involved trying to get ready. He's seen the show, he knows what's involved. Physical challenges. Mental challenges. Emotional challenges. He could have lost some weight, or done some strength training. He could have calmed down, looked at the puzzles and put some concentration and effort into solving them instead of treating them like time-limited challenges. I realize the one challenge had a time component, but he was so determined to pull the stick out of the combination box (no idea how else to describe that) that he made very little effort to see if the patterns even matched before throwing the tiles aside, nor did he seem to quickly realize this was the problem.
Anyway, I feel I have flogged that dead horse for long enough. Brandon is gone and I'm glad of it. On to next week................

OK, perhaps 'deserved' is not the right word. More like 'believed he could be successful.' That is equally delusional, as we saw. I have no issues with Brandon applying or Survivor accepting him. Perhaps if the first challenge had been easier he might have had a chance to establish himself and maybe he would have found a reservoir of strength (physical or mental) he didn't know he had. Instead, he couldn't climb the ladder, had to be dragged onto the boat, had medical intervention and still complained several times about having to sit down or rest. Then he bragged about being good at puzzles, but blew the first two he encountered.
If Survivor wants to cast Brandon or someone like him in every season until the show is cancelled, fine. But I feel no guilt about my reaction to him, my relief that he's gone or my disappointment that two people who would have tried were passed over for two people who didn't.

Unless there is some reason to believe that the players were coerced into participating, I see no reason to worry about the feelings of someone who willingly put themselves on a show that requires physicality that they clearly don't have, brags about solving puzzles that they can't solve and seems to think they deserve to stay based on socialization skills we certainly didn't see. I suspect the constant 'everyone gets a ribbon' mentality is what led Brandon to believe he deserved to be on the show in the first place.

Thank you for the explanation. I'll tune in again next week, but I can't imagine I would be interested in watching this show if it featured people in their 20s and 30s.

I've never watched an episode of any of the Bachelors but this one was in my demographic so I thought I'd check it out. I find Garry quite handsome and he seems very sweet. I enjoyed the first episode so much I told friends to tune in.
I have to say that after watching the second episode, I don't get it. So, he picks one woman to go on a date, then after that, they pick a theme, like a garden party with costumes, and he talks to some of the women, then he hands out roses? I'm guessing he probably talked to everyone. I saw one woman in the 'waiting for the rose' scene that I'm sure has never been on camera before, so it was easy to figure she wouldn't be picked. How does he pick who to go on a date with? Is there only one date per week?
I know I shouldn't make fun of someone having an emotional moment, but I couldn't help rolling my eyes when the one woman said, 'I haven't had a wedding dress on for 38 years' as if the rest of us wear one weekly.

"You can be the waterboy!" is the most pathetic inspirational speech ever.
Maybe it's in a book on 'how to inspire others' or something. I once had a manager who used this exact story except they asked her to be the equipment manager.
I think Brandon is an example of someone who has been led to believe that sun shines out of his ass and people will be happy just to be in his presence. After he flamed out so badly in the first challenge, even after he stayed behind to be assessed by medical, he still complained on two different occasions about having to just sit for a while or having to rest. Then when we learn that he is in fact not good at puzzles, he says he should be allowed to stay because at some point, a puzzle will come up that he can solve and when called on it, he tells us he has a great social game and so that's why they should keep him.

Not sure why exactly you're being such a pedant with my posts. What I said, as you know because you not only read it, you quoted it, was, 'I watch Bridal Wave pretty regularly. I also watched A Bride For Christmas this week, but I didn't make it past the first commercial break with this one. The actor is not at all attractive to me.' This was in response to your post!! where you referred specifically to Arielle Kebbel and Andrew Walker, both of whom are in both Bridal Wave and A Bride For Christmas, then you went on to mention the new movie. While I have already acknowledged and apologized for not being clear, I mentioned A Bride For Christmas specifically to point out that my issue is not with Arielle Kebbel and when I said, 'this one' I meant the Smoky Mountain movie, whose name I am not going to look up.
There are no extra points for belabouring the point, but I guess if it makes you feel better, have at it. I don't really watch much new Hallmark any more so have very little reason to come to this forum any more anyway.

Is Andrew Walker the actor who you said is not all that attractive to you in A Bride for Christmas? He is the same actor in Bridal Wave and you said you watch that movie regularly. I'm a bit confused.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was not at all attracted to the actor in the Smoky Mountains movie. I am very attracted to Andrew Walker, hence the Bridal Wave love, despite the questionable choice of a buzz cut hairstyle.

It's probably me. Go ahead and hate me, but I'm not interested in a history lesson on the archaeology of native artifacts. I'm also not interested in Taylor Cole haranguing the manager of the Hawaiian resort about water management in Aloha Heart. Another movie that lost me in the first 15 minutes.

The Golden Bachelor - General Discussion
in The Golden Bachelor
I suspect many like me (65) migrated from TWOP and follow several forums, but I wouldn't watch regular Bachelor with a gun to my head. I decided to check out the Golden franchise because it's my demographic and am enjoying it. I still won't be checking out the regular show though.
