  1. Hugs to you and Cavendish (and Cosmo and Lady Reese, because they are adorable), @Scarlett45. The late Kitty Gunderson the Elder (RIP Best Girl) had UTIs basically every 3 or 4 months for the last few years of her long life. We were frequent guests of our local emergency vet. I’m so sorry both of you are going through this; I remember how scary and upsetting it was.

  2. I’m now confident that I did the right thing by taking off the day before, day of, and day after my colonoscopy and endoscopy! I thought it might be overkill, but everyone’s stories are convincing me more time off is better.

  3. @Gramto6, I am intrigued by the Red Boat salt! My lunch was less interesting - chili dogs with American cheese and chopped onion. I am forgoing dinner for obvious reasons. Actually, now that I think about it, I haven’t been in the mood for dinner for the last couple of weeks, no matter what I ate earlier in the day. Hmm, that’s a bit unusual.

Umm WHAT?    Johnathon just got a job himself in the area.   Now he has an employee?   WTF IS THIS JOB?

They are so mucking out barns for the Amish aren't they?

My guess is that Jonathan started his own lawn care business and Philip is one of his employees. Lawn care or something similar seems to be popular with the fundies.

First, that is a lovely idea for a memorial. I hope everyone gained peace from the event.

Second - the same thing happened to me at the pharmacy when I had to get a ridiculously high priced mixed solution for my itchy scalp. The clerk at the pharmacy was appalled at the price as she was ringing me up and she found a discount that brought it down from over $100 to $30. I felt relieved too, and grateful for her kindness. On a side note, one of the clerks at our pharmacy is always bitchy to customers. She never would have made the effort, so I was glad I got one of the nice ones!

I'm starting a colonoscopy prep tonight for my procedure tomorrow. Ugh! So much yuck to drink! It's also really hot here in Chicagoland and tomorrow will be worse. So, I'm also grateful for AC! I made a small bird bath and put it on our deck to help out the birds in this heat.

Good luck with the colonoscopy! I have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy scheduled in a couple of weeks. I am dreading both.

So the Rods can travel for days/weeks during their grifting circuit. They can travel for vacations. But two days of no power and all of a sudden they're broke because they can't print. And what's worse than JillR's lies is, she will actually get donations.

And I’m assuming that the majority (if not all) of people who donate to the Rods are also feeling the pinch of higher gas prices, higher food prices, etc. And this will in no way affect their vacation plans this summer because she deserves it, no matter what new expenses might come up! (Also, who believes that David has enough print jobs that he’s working 24/7?)

  7. Okay, this confuses me:

    • she’s just NOW learning about adding fruits and vegetables to her diet? I have no words (well, I do, but none that I should type out)
    • monkfruit sweetened maple syrup? Why would one add sweetener to maple syrup? What kind of fuckery is this?

I cant believe that anyone would take any kind of nutritional or lifestyle advice from her, much less buy that stupid Plexus.

Yup, drive a personal water craft over/through floating debris. Absolutely brilliant! 🤦🏽‍♀️

This would be an appropriate use of Duggar as an adjective - “Absolutely duggar!”
It could be used in so many ways - for describing just-below-the-knee denim skirts, the overuse of shiplap, random unsafe placement of shelves, inappropriate mini golf course humping, you get the picture.

  9. Yeah, one of those kids is definitely going to turn on a burner if they don’t remove the knobs. I came home from work one day to find one of my gas burners on, and it clearly had been on for some time. My cat had tried to jump on the stove (she was a terrible jumper) and had to scramble with her back paws, turning on the burner in the process. I yelled at her and then hugged her and cried (she was my precious Best Girl). After that, I removed the knobs until I turned on the stove.

[I assume it was my cat, since I lived alone in a studio apartment. Although I guess it could have been a ghost.]

Someone could probably explain it better, but the FA Cup is a tournament amongst the several English teams, among the different tiers.  It is separate from regular season.  It is rare for a Championship League team (Tier 2) to make it that far from what I gather.

I get that this is a divisive episode for some, but it is one of my favorites.  I love the bits with the 3 barflies whose names I forget.

Baz, Jeremy and Paul. I watch the episodes for their scenes, and for Beard hula-hooping at the end.

  11. @CalicoKitty, one of my cats (the calico) randomly gets scared of the ceiling fan! She goes weeks without noticing, then one day looks up, sees the fan, ducks, and slinks away. We have to leave it off for a few days until she stops looking at it.

Topic - I agree, she should have put ceiling fans in. It gets hot in AR and they presumably can use all the cooling they can get. Cheaper than running the AC, and they don’t have to worry about the kids knocking over a floor fan.
