  1. Well, it is pretty obvious Honora has learned nothing. I read that blog and she could have made her point with dragging her old partner under the bus. "Twice a day, a PA would give him his amphetamine pill, and then he would proceed to sit in the shade and talk excessively with the crew members, like he was on speed." To me, that is unnecessary. She could have made her point about her partner getting whatever medication he was prescribed without stating it like that. It is VERY obvious she is just throwing shade on him with that statement. Bad enough she degraded his appearance during that show (which for someone who said they had an eating disorder, you would THINK she would be a LITTLE more sympathetic towards body types), but now she is basically saying "hey, I was partnered with a meth head". Because lets be honest, her tossing out the "amphetamine" word multiple times instead of using "Adderall" is meant to invoke that thought...in my opinion anyways. She even USED the word "speed". We saw right through her on both shows. She is someone who acts like a petulant child and when she is called out on it, she plays the victim. And that is what she is continuing to do, play the victim. I have a VERY hard time believing that the producers were willing to take care of everyones medical needs but HERS...classic victim mentality of "the world is against me". Lets even assume what she said was true (I believe there may be SOME truth, but I think she is embellishing, if not outright lying), why in the WORLD would you go BACK on a show where you feel you were severely misrepresented the first time?! My opinion of her as a person went down when she decided to make fun of her partners weight. It went down even further when she threw survival tools in the water. And it has went down even further with this whole "woe is me, it was bad editing" blog entry. I just can't muster up any sympathy for her. I still firmly believe she is trying to create a reality TV villain persona. If she isn't...well, I think she could possibly need psychiatric help.
  2. Funny people keep mentioning Katies tattoo looking like melted crayons. When I saw the final product, my first thought was wow, that looks like a child ate some crayons and threw them back up...it was just THAT bad. Sad part is, I am not even sure that CAN be covered up? Though her canvas seemed to be happy with it, so I guess who are we to judge? I would be horrified to have that on my body personally...though I would never go on this show to begin with where the goal is to give your competition tattoos you hope they can't do. And yeah...Chris is a marine if you haven't heard... You know, my grandfather served in Korea (navy), my dad in Vietnam (marines) and they NEVER talked about. They were both proud of their service, but they didn't use it as some sort of badge to constantly prove they are better than anyone. As someone said, looks like Chris WILL win...can only imagine how smug he will be in victory. I DO think production encourages the shit talking and drama. I would think tattoo artists would be a fairly tight knight group and not prone to constantly bashing each others work. These same producers also produced a woodworking competition and it was literally the same show. Competition and smack talk with a couple of arrogant douche bags thrown in.
  3. Dead on! If this were a TRUE survival situation (where you don't know when or IF you will be rescued), the High School Six most likely would have been in BIG trouble. Possibly losing a few members... Whereas Jeff and EJ would have continued to SURVIVE indefinitely. As far as Honora. I personally believe everything she did on the show and everything she has said on social media since is an attempt at creating a "villain" persona in the mold of a Jonny Fairplay or Russell Hantz. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize that people "love to hate" characters like JP and Hantz (I can't stand him, but some people like him), while they just don't ever want to see Honora on their screen again. Big difference. I am glad that Jeff said he regrets not taking in Dani. I wondered at the time why they didn't, but also thought (as someone else in this thread did) that maybe they were just trying to distance themselves from the bullshit as much as possible. And on a final note, if any casting people from Discovery read this, PLEASE don't put Alana back on our screen! Thank you.
  4. Sadly, since I am assuming it is purely up to the judges who wins, I am going to say Bagg wins. In my old age (not THAT old), my memory is hazy....didn't the VIEWERS used to vote on the comics at some point in the competition? And yes, it is at least a good platform for comics. Didn't know the clubs were closing up. I live right outside Chicago and we have an Improv a few miles from us that is still pretty active.
  5. So while reading this entire thread I was thinking about what I was going to post... And then I remembered, hey, someone already posted EVERY thought I had! Seriously, all I can say is....ditto! I am a middle aged man and it is near IMPOSSIBLE to offend me (I am not a "pearl clutcher" as they say) and while Bagg did not offend me, I just don't find him funny in the slightest. He comes off as trying too hard to be "shocking". Couldn't agree more on Norm as well. It is blasphemy to some people to say you don't like Norm Macdonald, but I just can't stand the guy. He comes off as so arrogant and condescending (to me anyways). I love Roseanne and Keenen though. They will at least at times offer constructive criticism. And I have yet to find anything Dominique has said even remotely funny. How in the hell is she in the finals?! And one last comment...why even have the show in this format? Go back to the old format where they stay in a house, there are competitions, etc...or just don't have the damn show...
  6. I agree, this is a very fascinating show! No scripted drama (that I can tell) like 95% of other reality shows... I did see a commercial that it is doing over 1 million viewers, which is decent for A&E I suppose. I also agree with the "scary and yet strangely fascinating inmates" statement. There is a part of me that would just like to sit down and talk with some of them. But the other part of me wouldn't want to be in the same building as them. The one guy with the huge mustache, he seems like he knows what he does is bad, he just can't help it. I sense a LITTLE remorse in his voice. While I don't necessarily have sympathy for him, I feel bad he will probably never fit in to society. And then you have guys like the one in the first episode that was released. The one that basically taunted one of the rookies to quit. The guy who was hiding his smoking. The entire system is just a game to him. You can tell by his attitude, he will DEFINITELY spend most of his life in jail. Again, fascinating people... I am guessing this is more or less replacing Beyond Scared Straight since they had the series finale for that last night.
  7. Glad to see I am not the only one who enjoys Piff. I can see how he might turn some people off, but I love him. Out of all the contestants left, for MY tastes, he is the only satisfying winner...again, for ME. Not saying anyone else sucks. :) He is the only one I would buy tickets to if I was in Vegas (will go back someday!).
  8. I agree, right now Oz and the ventriloquist seem like the final two.
  9. I definitely see your point Frankenstein (heh, no clue why, just typing that gave me a chuckle). I guess I just didn't realize how well traveled these people are. I didn't realize Siro-A has been out there THAT much. Would figure they would be a little more polished than they are in that case. And yeah, I saw that clip where you can clearly see the light bulb in the back of his mouth. It has to be a combination of sleight of hand and being able to hold things in the back of his throat. He obviously doesn't have fingers in his stomach, so it is physically impossible for him to swallow a lock, key and ring and manipulate them to put the key in the lock, unlock it, place the ring on it, lock it and take the key out. He IS very good at what he does. He is good enough people have been speculating on how he does it for decades now. But It is just like others have said, having seen his act before, it just doesn't wow me. But, others haven't seen it, so again, I do see peoples point on that.
  10. I am usually pretty good at predicting who will go through, but Benton Blount certainly threw me for a loop. He is ok, but I just don't see him on the same level as CL Band. I think if CL Band ever picks that perfect song, they will absolutely blow people away, whereas Blount, he is always going to sound like he is basically singing the same song. And not to pile on the Blount hate, but come on man, some of us like myself are disabled and would love to work. You are a perfectly able bodied man, capable of doing more than just singing to support your family, DO IT! You can certainly fit a full time job in with your singing career until you "make it". For MY tastes, this is shaping up to be a fairly average finals as far as talent goes. Just my tastes (everyone has their own), not trying to insult anyones favorites. :)
  11. Out of curiosity I looked up how many times he has been on television....just, wow: "Tonite With Jay Leno" (USA) (x6) "Late Night With Letterman" (USA) "Arsenio Hall Show (USA) "Howard Stern Show" (USA) "Incredible Sunday" (USA) "Thats Incredible" (USA) (x2) And that is just on American TV. I remembered him and the Rubicks Cube trick from Thats Incredible (showing my age there). But come on AGT...this show should be about AMATEUR talent, not someone who has been on Jay Leno SIX times...though I guess they never specifically said this show was purely for amateurs, I just assumed.
  12. I agree. The judges just seem "snottier" than usual this year. Has me wondering if the producers have told them to "Simon Cowell" it up or something. I mean, you don't X acts this far in the competition. The time to X them was before Radio City Music Hall. YOU let them through. The X'ing is just outright rude. Not like the X'ing holds ANY power at this point, so why do it?
  13. Yup, I thought his act seemed familiar so did a Google search on him and sure enough, he has been doing these same acts for DECADES... I remember seeing him do something back in the 80's with a Rubicks Cube (I remember it grossing me out). And he was also on Howard Sterns radio show in the late 80's, so Howard was already familiar with him.
  14. Very good point. I can't imagine she took that job thinking it would be fun and rewarding. I just shudder to think of what one of those convicts would do to her if given the chance and with her size, not sure she could do much to stop it. But I am sure she is VERY aware of the dangers and it really does show courage to do that job as a small woman. Hell, even the average size guy who quit said he was scared.
  15. They try to group prisoners together with their own kind to avoid conflict. Does seem like there would be a LOT more "scheming" that way, but better than constant fights and death. Wonder if Ariel will last at this job. She is just SO tiny. Seems like at any time, any of the convicts could just overpower her and from what they have shown, she doesn't exactly have a ton of backup just waiting to help. Man, just seems like there are a lot better jobs out there for someone like her. Can only imagine the comments she has to deal with...definitely have a lot of respect for her. She is braver than I am and I am a fairly large guy.
