  1. I saw Nam at the start of the episode and was like, "Oh cool Nam is back."  Then I did not see him and thought, "Wait was that a hallucination?  Did I really see him?"  When they arrived at the challenge I scanned the crowd to see if I could pick him out but it was to no avail.  Therefore I thought I did not see him.  Then T.J. broke the news and while I was happy for my own sanity, I was bummed that he was out once again.

Not going to lie, I really like Amanda.  Yes she is as Kyle said the Spawn of Satan, but I just dig her and I find her entertaining.  It was good to see her back.

Also, Kyle was grown on me.  When he first showed up I was not a fan, but over the last few seasons I find him to be funny.  He also seems to be the only regular from the UK crew that shows up over and over again.

I have never heard anything about this.  I am going to have to read up on it.

In regards to transgender athletes, I am not sure there is a good reasonable answer to this issue.  I see both sides of the argument.

I would say perhaps have transgender athletes compete only against one another but there is probably not enough athletes to do that.

  3. A little off topic, but I have to sing the praises of the current season of Australian Survivor.  It has been great thus far.  If anyone is inclined to check it out, I would say do so.  There is this one contestant George who is such a character.  His tribe keeps on trying to vote him out and each time he finds a way out of it.  Just a very fun season thus far.

  4. As long as George stays, I will be happy.  I just love his story thus far.  He is by far one of the most entertaining contestants that have been on either this version or the American version.  I love the fact that they keep on trying to get him out and he always manages to stay.

Now the last episode I watched was the Joey elimination episode, so I am not sure how many episodes have aired since then.  So George might very well be gone but I hope not.  Oh and I was so glad to see Joey get voted out.  Mostly because it meant George was going to stay but also, Joey's cockiness was really starting to irk me.

Not a fan of Georgia either.  She comes across as a snob to me.

I don't really dislike anyone on the Brawn tribe, well I know a tribe swap is about to happen so I am talking about the original Brawn tribe.  I mean I think Shannon is insanely good looking and Flick is very pretty as well but that is just from an attraction standpoint.

Also, what is it with them casting people with the nickname Flick?  Is that a common nickname for women named Felicity?  Or is it just an Australian thing?

Derek F is a waste of space. He doesn’t do anything. His breathing is driving me up a wall and he can’t complete a complete sentence on eviction night. I actually think he’s winded from the couch to the DR to cast his vote. He would be good goat material though, right? If there is a goat I think it’s either him because he isn’t doing anything or Britini because no one would take her seriously if she made it to the Final 2. Am I off on that assessment? They are goat material, right? I know Brent wasn’t Pawn material but those other two could be Goat material.

I posted something very similar in the episode thread, I did not see your post until after I posted.  So yeah, I co-sign what you have to say in regards to Derek F.  I have a strong feeling he is going to be this season's Victoria or Cowboy.

Kind of anticlimatic when Julie Chen tells you at the top of the hour Brent is going home.

Disapointed a King won. All that means is we have to march along for yet another week of a foregone conclusion when Whitney gets evicted. Watching alliances cracking up is a lot more fun than another round of block voting.

This!  I mean I knew it was a forgone conclusion but still what the hell.  I don't recall her ever doing that in the past, even when it was a forgone conclusion.  Also, in regards to the other part I wanted to highlight your post and the Ice's underneath because it tackles the same topic.

I was hoping someone would win that would shake up yet another noncompetitive season.

The entire cast is much more likable than in years past which is a major plus, but the lack of competitiveness is causing me to lose interest as it has for as long as I have watched this reality series (several years).

As for Brent, I still think he has major insecurity issues and the way he acts is a complete cover for that.   Someone should have thrown him an empathy vote, regardless of how the house guests may feel about him.   He does appear to be stubborn and unwilling to see what others see in the way he acts, but again, I think that is all major insecurity issues.

I agree with both you and Eden above.  The cast is filled with more likable people but they are so boring and we as the viewers pretty much who is next to go before it happens.  You know barring veto or that other competition which name is slipping my mind right now.  Basically this is last season on repeat with a different cast.   Meaning a large alliance who is controlling everything and there is no opposition and there have been nothing to upset the flow of what the "house" wants.  I hate the term voting with the house but for lack of a better term I will use that.

Just looking at the dynamics, I am right now calling three of the final four as being Kyland, Xavier, and Derek F (I would not be shocked if they drag him to the end because I really do not see him doing anything of note this season and he will be viewed as an easy person to beat.).  Right now the fourth spot seems to be the most fluid.  I would like to see Tiffany but I am not sure that will happen.  I could easily see either Claire or Hannah as the fourth.

Now I could be completely wrong but I just don't think I am and after watching a boring season last year, a shitty season twenty-one, and a terrible season nineteen.  I just do not think I have it in me to sit and watching something where it is a forgone conclusion who will be at the end.  For me the last good season was twenty.  It had a good cast, good drama, two alliances that were competing against each other.  All of the other seasons since have had none of that.

Edited to add:  What the hell does Derek F. keep on saying week after to week when he votes?  It is something strange.  He did it once and I chalked it up to nerves, but now he has said it three weeks in a row.

Every time I look at Tiffany I think of a former co-worker....and that ain't a compliment, though I like Tiff and hope she goes far.

I said it in one of the episode threads, Tiffany looks a lot like my buddy's late sister (She committed suicide).  It is almost uncanny and as odd as it is to say, I sometimes find it tough to watch her because of this.

In regards to the feeds, I would never get them because I had them once on a trial run during I want to say BB12 (Whatever season was Enzo's first season.) and I found them to be so boring.  Even when I would watch After Dark, it was boring.  That season was not a boring season but I was still bored to tears.  I can't imagine sitting and watching a boring season of feeds.

I recall Hayden, Enzo, Lane (? The dude who finished in second place) going on and on about how they were going to be famous after the show.  They then started talking about  wanting to rent out a riverboat and invite their fans to travel the Mississippi River with them.  Or some such nonsense.  It was just painful to watch.  The conversation went on for maybe forty-five minutes or so.

  8. Just watching Tiffany tonight I have a strong feeling she is either going to win the entire show or she is going to go out like Vanessa and Diane (Season 5).  What I mean by the second part is, she is clearly playing a controlling game and she seems to be the puppet master thus far.  Maybe I am wrong with that impression but that is the impression I am getting.

Therefore, I think she will make it deep into the game but people will realize that they cannot possibly beat her and so I could see her getting cut somewhere between sixth and third place.  Now don't get me wrong, I like her game thus far and I would not be opposed with her winning (Her and Derek X are the only two who have really stood out to me thus far), but I do think there is a very good chance that she will be doomed to finish outside of the final two.

Sorry, I prefer much higher brow entertainment like The Surreal Life. (You know, the show where Verne Troyer mistook the corner of his room for a bathroom.) Classy stuff like that.

Surreal Life is coming back to VH1 in I believe September (Could be wrong on that).  Verne peeing in the corner was hilarious.  I love when Christopher Knight said something along the lines of, "Hey buddy, why are you going to the bathroom over there. It's strange."  The drunken Vern turns to him buck ass naked and says, "Strange?  What's strange?"  Now that was great television.  Bad Girls Club was up there as well.

Why is that we have pet cats, but not pet giraffes? Because different things are, you know, different.

Similarly, white-only groups are invariably based upon white supremacy and adhering to the racist power structure of the world, while minority-only groups are based on shared experience of the struggle of racism, in pointed CONTRAST to the racist power structure of the world.

In short, they are not the same thing, they've never been the same thing and they never will be the same thing.

To compare them with state-sponsored segregation is ill-considered.

First off if you can afford to have a pet giraffe, you can have a pet giraffe.  I think the late King of Pop proved that to be true.😄

The Merriam-Webster definition of the world segregation is as follows...

The separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means.

Note how there was no mention of privilege or anything of that nature.  Therefore, by the textbook definition of the word, the Cookout alliance is an alliance built on segregation.

If you view the world as racism being in every facet of the world and white supremacy lurking around every corner, then what you are saying is correct.  I am not saying it (racism) does not exist, because it obviously does.  I would also point out it is clearly not just an American only thing (Look at what China is doing to its Muslim population).  I just do not think, in modern day America, that it is anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be and it is certainly not what is was sixty to seventy years ago.

When I think of a white supremacist, I think of some uneducated loser who has no real power to control anything.

When you say the racist power structure of the world, are talking about countries where white people are the majority of the population?  Because how can a white supremacist power structure of the world control what goes on in China or any of the other countries where they are not the majority?  Chinese people and Japanese people tend to despise each other, does that have to do with this world racist power structure that you are talking about?

I grew up in the 80's and as a child I had friends of all different skin colors and because of that I am a better person for it.  My criteria for being friends with someone was simple, "Do you like Transformers?  Do you like Star Wars?  How about the WWF?"  If you said yes to any of that then you were my friend.  Nothing else mattered.

Even to this day all I care about is if you are a nice person. If you are then we can be friends, I do not give a rats ass what the color of your skin is, who you prefer to sleep with, if you are religious or not.  If you are cool, you are cool and none of that other stuff matters.

I think all forms of segregation is wrong.  It does not matter who is doing it or why, it is wrong.  The more we are around people who are different from us (Be it skin color, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.) the more open we become to them and the differences we might have with them.

Look at Daryl Davis.  For those who do not know who he is, Mister Davis is many things he is a musician, actor...well just look him up online you will see.  Mister Davis is a black man who regularly attends KKK rallies and befriends members of the Klan.  He regularly convinces people to leave the KKK and shows them it is wrong to think the way they do.

Just being around Daryl causes these KKK members to realize that people are people (Not trying to get all Depeche Mode here.).  The world is a better place thanks to the Daryl's efforts.  Had Daryl decided that he did not want to do what he does because of historical oppression and instead he isolated himself and only associated with people who looked like him, the world would be worse off.  He is changing people's minds for the better.

This will be the last I speak on this topic because I honestly don't enjoy going back and forth with people online.  Though I will say this, I never thought saying any kind of segregation was wrong, would be considered wrong think.

But then again on another site I post on, I once had someone ask me if I had any compassion for drunk drivers who kill people and when I said no, they called me an idiot who has no humanity.  So the internet is a strange place.

Now if you will excuse me, I am off to play some Among Us, where I will have a bunch of teenagers tell me how dumb I am.

And the viewers who "totally aren't racist but" will celebrate and then move on to cheer for their next five person, all-white alliance unironically.

I would not mind seeing it broken apart. Mainly because I am not a fan of any gender based or skin color (I hate saying race, because we are people.) alliances.  It does not matter to me if it is an all-white person alliance, a women's or men's alliance, or an alliance with all-black people in it.

Your quote could be flipped around and we could talk about how people decry an all-white person alliance.  But those same people would never do the same thing when talking about the Cookout because of equity or something.

I am not a fan of segregation of any kind, good people died to end that.  Now all of a sudden it seems like people want to go back sixty years and happily live in segregation.

Y’know, loud and obnoxiousness aside Britini actually looked beautiful at the eviction ceremony….then she had to become Vanilla Ice and everything went to shit!  I stan’d that dress though, very pretty.

Still say that Sarah Beth is the prettiest, then Azah, then Britini (when she dresses womanly).  Whitney’s Seabiscuit veneers ruin her looks.

Two of the True/False questions threw me off because I thought X messed up too.

I agree I thought Britini looked really pretty at the eviction ceremony.  The thing that disturbs me when I say that is, she kind of looks like one of my cousins.  So now am I going to need some sort of therapy for just saying that...

I would say Sarah Beth, Claire (Clair? I forgot how she spells her name and I am too lazy to look it up.), and Azah are the three prettiest to me.  Tiffany is pretty as well, but like Britini, Tiffany looks like my friend's late older sister.  So just saying I think she is attractive, kind of feels strange to me.

I really liked the whole Brent and Hannah accent segment.  Mainly because I am from the same state as Brent and I have the same dreaded horrible accent.  I probably have it a little worse.  Plus Hannah trying to do the Rhode Island/Boston accent was really cute.

It's not uncommon for some people on the spectrum have issues with food, whether it's extremely picky eating, food rituals, etc. Plus no doubt some also have medical reasons for restricted eating. (I know a lot of people swear by a keto diet for children with autism. I have no personal idea if this is helpful or not, I'm just reporting what I've been told.) But if they're on the spectrum, being tactful and diplomatic about it with others might be very difficult if not impossible for them. They might not even realize other people think they're rude, if they can't read the social cues.

At the very least, I hope the houseguests were educated about how Britini interacts with people so they don't take it personally.

How have the houseguests been handling her abrasive behaviour?

This isn't directed at you it is just your post sort of lends into the question I have.  Anyone who would like to answer this question please do.  Has Britini disclosed that she is autistic to the rest of the house?

2 hours ago, Lady Whistleup said:

This is a fairly nice house so they're not mean to her. I do notice however that when she repeats Zach's eviction speech for the 1000x time or goes on a speech about how great she is, people tend to be very silent and not say much.

I THINK an issue is that unlike Ky who has ADD and anxiety, and also a bit unlike Ian or Steve who were also on the spectrum, Britini just isn't that nice of a person. I think with the others you could take the awkwardness because there was a good soul underneath. But Britini IMO doesn't have that goodness.

My buddy worked with a guy who has Down Syndrome and they became friends.  Anyway, I would hang out with the guy who had Down Syndrome from time to time and quickly came to the realization that he was a total asshole.  It was not because he did not know any better, this dude was just an asshole.

The reason how I figured out that he was, was because he would be the nicest person ever to certain people.  But if for some reason he did not like you, which was the case with me and one of my other friend, he made a point of being an asshole to you.  I would go out of my way to be nice to the guy and nothing I said or did ever won him over.  So finally I said, "If he is hanging out with you, I don't want to come along."

I stereotyped him initially because any time previously that I had met someone with Down Syndrome, I found them to be the sweetest people I have ever met.  Well not this motherfucker, he was nasty and mean spirited to people he did not like.

My point is, I agree with you.  It could just be that Britini is not a nice person.
