  1. I get that it's a soap thing to do tight close-ups, but I give MS & ED credit, they look great for their ages (almost 60 & over 60, respectively) -- they both look good even in the tightest close-ups. Can't say the same for the men their age. Trevor/Tuck looks lousy in close-ups. And when they pull in tight to Danny? Sorry, but I always go -- EEK! Oh, MD, what happened? Sally is a dope, but then again she chooses to be around A-hole Adam. Let's see what a friendship with slinky Audra will get her . . . Did Claire ever get an answer when she asked if Vic was going to let Jordie go? Guess it's perfectly legal for Vic & Nick to be kidnappers? Ok then, great writing.
  2. Trevor is in his early 50's -- & with his sunken eyes & dark circles, he looks every second of it. I wouldn't consider him youngish anymore & he certainly doesn't look it. I thought maybe Tuck isn't supposed to be that age, but given 30-ish Devon is his son, & Bizarro-Ashley mocked Audra for having "daddy" issues, I'd say Tuck's (and Trevor's) days of being described as youngish are past. Anyone notice how Tuck and Bizarro-Ashley and so many other GC'ers drink sooooo darn much, don't they? And they drink alone. Hmmmm. When Sally said to A-hole Adam she doesn't have many (or any) friends, I thought, does Tuck have any friends? Or Audra? Or Bizarro-Ashley? Btw, was Audra packing or unpacking? And just where is she gonna go? Big talk, hun, but your ops have dried up if ya ditch Tuck! Better keep those black pumps with the 4 inch heels & your backless (& frontless?) outfits at the ready, girl, cuz you gotta compete with Bizarro-Ashley!
  3. I could swear the stylists are screwing with us -- Kyle's pomp looked pointy today. Or wait, does it always look that way? That poor kid looked so distracted, like he did NOT wanna be there. Related to the Bells maybe? So any bets when Kyle is gonna marry Claire? By April? And he'll cheat on her with Lily by May? Those scenes with Tuck & Bizarro-Ashley are really squicking me out. Make it stop, producers -- PLEASE!!!
  4. What was today -- "A-hole day in Genoa City"? Seemed like all the a-holes (except the supreme one, Adam) were out in full force-- Heather & Daniel, those smug a-holes! Lily should only dump some syrup in her hair so she has to cut it all off & a-hole Daniel will leave her in 2 seconds. And then there's Tuck, 1st runner-up to Adam as GC's biggest a-hole, sitting with Ashley . . . only for us to quickly learn that crazy Ashley's new personality might just be 2nd runner-up to Adam -- making Ashley now GC's 3rd biggest asshole, with Daniel & Heather running not too far behind. Sheesh, what are we left with on the show now? Raging bitches, nasty a-holes, & whiny, weepy losers? Oh yeah, I really wanna keep on watching. I'd say Audra's options are fading fast. Welp, there's always Only Fans, Audj . . .
  5. Ugh, any scenes with Adam, but def any with Adam & Sally? Zzzzzzzzz! Must be a requirement when casting Adam, acting talent doesn't matter, but gotta have a punchable face. Mission accomplished! Oh yeah, Daniel is suffering from the I-think-I'm-such-a-swell-guy-when-I'm-actually-a-total-dickhead syndrome that so many GC men are. But hasn't Lily always been the perennial victim? Feels like everyone has shit on her & she takes it. By now my sympathy has been used up for poor Lily. C'mon hun, get going & punch out that bitch Heather. And tell Daniel he's an a-hole & he can go fuck off!! Jeez, J Eddie is soooo thin & his face is so gaunt he looks sickly, particularly with his patchy unshaven look. And the way he swallows his words, I expect him to say he's got some disease. Sorry, but I just can't get used to Christian's snow-white hair & bright orange face. Every time they do a close-up of Michael, I just go -- eek, who is that? Hmm, and where could Lauren be? Time for her daily plastic surgery tweak? So let's get this straight, shall we? Vic & Nick (the comedy team with zero sense of humor) stash Auntie Jordan in the cellar . . . but wait, isn't that kinda illegal to do? Oh silly me, trying to make sense. Oh wait, doesn't Vic own or dictate to the GCPD? Remember back in the Rusty Anchor (sorry, that was Blanche Deveraux's hangout in The Golden Girls), or whatever the name of the dive bar Jordie killed Seth outside of -- Vic told the policewoman to dust a glass for fingerprints? Don't the police know to do this? No, cuz Vic tells them what to do, right? Ah, now it's making GC sense. Anyone think a silly little door lock could possibly keep ole Jordie restrained? Nah, she'll bite right thru it with her teeth. Or maybe start a fire & walk thru the searing flames without a bit of scorch on her, hair & makeup perfect & with an immaculately clean & tastefully chic outfit. Maybe Colleen's contract requires it, but it's all making sense & it's totally believable for GC world, right?
  6. Not just better, with Kyle you get hair gel on your pillow. Yuck. And he won't move any way that'll mess his hair up. Yuck again. No thanks, Kyle. Probably why Audra ran back to loser Tuck & his tiny er, room . . .
  7. Hate to admit it, but I was too. Still, Vic doing this trap without police & depending on Nicholas (really??) was so stupid. Still, I kinda liked Vic mostly silently listening to looney Jordan's babble while smugly smiling. Figured he musta had a tracker. So why didn't dopey Jordan? Sorry, I'm thinkin' too much here , , , Clearly, Colleen is having fun playing this loon. Guess after playing perennial victim Barbara for over 30 years, can't blame her. Idk, Phyllis in the bug-eyed Jackie O shades gave me a quick giggle.
  8. Yeah, looking at poor J. Eddie, it's really hard to picture he was once quite a beauty. Now that he's not young & hot anymore, his lack of any acting talent is way too obvious. He's also really dull. I predict him being written out cuz every scene he's in he looks so dazed & confused as to why he's there. And he has zero chemistry with AH, but then again, does she have chemistry with anyone -- other than herself?
  9. Throw in some creepy Vertigo vibes too. Vic looked so creepy to me back then. Did Nikki say she was a stripper? Oh no, guess she's too much of a lady now to admit to that, eh? Maybe "adult performer"? Nope, she didn't say that either. Nikki did look very Barbie-ish. But ole Vic's intentions were just soooo honorable, eh? And Nikki never ever considered his wealth as an attraction, eh? Oh no, Nikki would never have done that.
  10. You ain't the only one! So was Phyliis taking off false lashes & a few extensions supposed to be some big deal? Fell flat to me. Now, if she ripped off a full wig to reveal a bald head, then pulled off surgical tape behind her ears to reveal a saggy face, and then slipped off 6 layers of Spanx to show off a plus-size body . . . that woulda been a big moment!! What we got was dull, dull, dull. Watch out, cuz ole Vic is wearing his leather jacket, so we're in for fireworks, right? Nah, all we got was some dumb plan Perry Mason would've quickly rejected as never working -- and that woulda been in 1960! Why do I think any one of us here could write this show better than the crap we're seeing? Offering Jordan a house in France that he could get police to track down in half a sec? Swell idea, Vic! Oh, and all Jordan can think of is that the house will be booby trapped? Sheesh, this is so dumb. Anyone notice that Tuck seems to think by saying "oui" he's speaking French fluently? Btw, if he's supposed to be such a mogul, why does he only have a teeny room that barely fits a bed, a chair and a booze table (EVERYONE on this show needs to have booze nearby). So what's the deal, Tuck -- can't afford a suite? What a loser. But I guess Audra (always in her backless outfits) & crazy, crazy voices-in-her-head Ashley will keep on chasing after him. Oh, but that's only after Ashley drinks herself silly, while babbling loudly to herself at the nearest bar. Um, with Jordan, I'm smelling another Sheila. Jordan gets sent to jail for crimes against Newmans & anyone near them, breaks out of prison or gets released somehow & then . . . rinse, lather, repeat. Yawn. I really am bored.
  11. This makes me wonder if the Michael Muhney/Hunter King incident would have been handled differently today. Certainly seemed to have been handled very, very quietly. Michael Muhney was pretty convincing as Adam -- maybe too much so?
  12. While I can't stand what they're doing with her character now, it always gives me a giggle when Phyllis refers to weepy Christine as "the bug". Loved that she also said "the bug" has no sense of humor. When would she have time to laugh when she's always crying? Besides does Danny have any sense of humor either? He's too busy applying makeup & hair color to have a laugh. And man, doesn't Danny always looks so pained now? Um, maybe all that hair dye & makeup is painful??? Nicholas & Phyllis? Idk, gotta be better than Phyllis being an AARP groupie, going after elderly has-been sorta "musicians". Ugh, Nicholas is yet another one of those that think he's such a great guy & clearly he isn't. Er, how many times did he cheat on Sharon? 18 billion times or 19 billion times? Oh yeah, you're a real swell guy, Nicholas! OK, maybe he is in comparison to a straight-up a-hole like Adam -- ah, but then again Satan is a nice guy too in comparison to Adam so . . .
  13. You brought up something I hadn't thought of -- there really are no convincing mothers on this show. Phyllis? Please, she needs an introduction to her kids -- or does she even remember she has kids? Ashley rarely ever mentions or thinks of Abby. Sorry, but MTS & AH have zero chemistry so their scenes are always awkward. Actually, MTS's scenes with Claire are a bit better, but those hugs btw Claire & AH look so uncomfortable. So yeah, Tricia is filling a definite void. Is she going a bit overboard with her overly concerned mother shtick? Maybe, but keep in mind, when she's acting opposite Chance, it's like she playing to a brick wall -- sure, a beautiful brick wall, but still a brick wall. So I'll forgive Tricia for over-compensating -- at least for now.
  14. As I watched awesome Amanda totally take down the boys club at Chancellor-Winters, I thought -- what's with this fraternity bs over at C-W? Are there no women working there? Devon seems so convinced he's such a perfect & great guy -- then how about hiring some top level women execs, Devon! Nate had a pretty accurate description of Devon. His character has changed. He's hostile, cunning & combative (just like Aunt Mamie now). I liked him better as a decent, straight-forward, nice guy. He thinks he's that, but he ain't. Is Billy as bad as Devon thinks he is? At least right now, I'm not seeing it. Seems kinda boring. But don't go by me, I miss Billy Miller (RIP) who was always so adorable (sniff).
  15. Oh yeah, but I think he woulda been more believable saying he had to go to Seven Eleven to pick up some milk, rather than saying he had to go to the office to make a phone call he could easily make in the teeny-weeny Newman living room -- maybe under one of those pillows Nikki stuffed with booze (for privacy)? While I'm not sorry to see Seth go -- I always thought in every scene with him --- why is Nikki pouring her heart out to Santa? Felt bad for Brian Gaskill to lose the gig. Seems like his acting career was pretty much in the dumper. Guess it's tuff to go from hot young guy to 25/30 years later turn into Santa Claus. Well, maybe in December, GH, Y&R or B&B may call him back . . . So I'm wondering if the writers are looking back 25 (or 30?) years ago at the Sheila eps for inspiration on Jordan storylines. Um, will Colleen be another lifer on this show and Jordan will be coming back forever to torture the Newmans? Ugh, hope not. OK, Abby warns Tucker to stay away from her mom. Didn't Summer do the same a few weeks ago? Who's next to do this to Tuck? Claire? Victoria? Mariah? Chance? Oh, the possibilities are endless, but I shudder to think about it!
  16. Hey Victor, it's not 1982, you can make a call to China without trekking to the office. Er, and why doesn't Nikki know this? She is the head of Newman Media, right? 😉 The only thing more shocking than seeing Jack in a robe (still rubbing my eyes over that one) was seeing Audra in a robe & not something/anything backless! So will MTS get an Emmy for the AA meeting bit? Thought it was kinda much. She started getting so over the top, thought she was gonna say she wanted to strangle Jordan till her eyes popped outta her head -- Freddie Krueger-style. Oh no, not another soap split personality storyline! This is the best they can come up with for Ashley? And now she's acting like a whiny teen. First Phyllis acting like a groupie, now Ashley? Ugh. Amanda is fierce. She's badly needed on the show now, which seems to be taken over by weepy whiners. And why oh why have they made Mamie so cynical & hostile & angry? And a pot-stirrer? Mamie was such a warm, wonderful character -- what the heck happened??? Tricia Cast is awesome. I love her scenes with Chance. He's so beautiful & she's such a good actress. Btw, despite the supposedly steamy bed scene, are Summer & Chance just about the dullest soap couple ever? Maybe not ever, but wow, they are dull together.
  17. Haven't watched Rach in forever cuz I never remember when she's on & I'm so not in the mood for this stuff on Mondays anyway. Isn't this a typical Rachel move? She has the author right there, but rather than spend the whole show interviewing her, she spends nearly a half hour talking about her book. Sorry, Rach, but I got more from Cassidy's nine (or so) minutes on CBS Sunday Morning than this -- altho the stuff on Gaetz made me nauseous, so thanks for that! I was more excited about Jen Psaki getting the Monday 8 PM slot -- cuz if that's an indication Hayes is getting the Chuck Toad boot off . . . YAY! And Jen's interview with Nancy (& the rest of her show) was pretty good.
  18. As I'm saddened & horrified seeing all the talk now of Nazis, seeming to be normalized, whether it's Trump casually having dinner with Nazis & hardly any Repubs being publicly bothered by it, & Nazis being welcomed back to post all they like on Twitter, I'm thinking Rachel, as usual, is way ahead of the rest of media in her take on Nazis. So Rachel, go ahead & do zillions more podcasts explaining Nazis & pre-WW2 politics and the connecting dots to today. It's OK by me. But Rach, I still wish you'd go back to more news analysis than 6 seconds every other Monday nite, but maybe that's just silly ole me . . .
  19. I kinda have a bet with myself if every Monday show from now on, till the end of her zillion dollar contract (which is maybe another 5 shows?) will be made up of 45 minutes of talk on Nazis & WW2 . . . and then she'll force herself to discuss current news for maybe 15 minutes, if that? I rarely watch anymore cuz I'm so not in the mood for politics on Mondays, but we'll see . . .
  20. I suspect, as this podcast is #1 on Apple (I kinda wonder how it's measured), it shouldn't be a surprise, because Rachel's audience is loyal to her & clearly passionately so. While I haven't listened yet, this subject seems like it would lend itself better as a book, since it is so important. There are so many podcasts now, this could just get lost. Idk, now that Rachel has mostly retired from offering news analysis, I've been hooked on the podcasts of Kara Swisher & Molly Jong Fast. I've found they consistently do really great, informative & current interviews & news analysis. I try to listen whenever I can (commutes, working out, cleaning, cooking). There are some other good podcasts too -- The Daily (from the NY Times), The New Abnormal, Ezra Klein, Mary Trump, Inside the Hive (Vanity Fair), among some others. Podcasts are becoming a better place for getting news analysis than cable news. CNN is mostly a waste now & MSNBC without Rachel ain't great. They both seem to be struggling. Btw, Hayes actually has a decent podcast, that's way better than his MSNBC show cuz on a podcast he can't really fill it up with Fox, Trump, MTG & other awful Repub clips (the way he always does on his show). Do I think Rachel is being random on her connecting Nazis & WW2 to today? No, but she seems obsessed with the subject. Well, if not obsessed, she seems (to me) more interested in the past than the present . . .
  21. And while I may disappointed in Rachel's new direction, guess what? This podcast is currently #1 in the Top 100 US Podcasts (Apple Podcasts Top Charts). So interest in Rachel & whatever her interests are has certainly not waned!
  22. So, OK, Rachel is a dramatic & interesting reader & I'm sure, as Hayes said, she makes the podcast series interesting. But how much can she say about Nazis & WW 2 politics & connect it today? I guess to her, maybe it's endless & this topic lends itself many similar series of podcasts? I still think Rachel using podcasts as a format for delving into history, rather than news analysis (that pretty much everyone else is doing on podcasts now) is her way of saying -- I'm burying myself in history cuz NBC/Universal is paying me zillions to do what I want & that's only what I wanna do. To me, this so disappointing cuz I saw Rachel as a journalist as well as a pundit. But now she's morphed into what? A history buff? Well, mostly, if not entirely -- yet, at least. I watched her show a bit on Monday & she did discuss the Colorado shooting & some Trump court shit, but mostly her show was Nazis & WW 2 politics, so I kinda checked out. Makes me sad that her show & this podcast are of so little interest to me . . .
  23. I may listen to this at some point, but currently it's of zero interest to me. Rachel clearly doesn't care about what impact she has, now that she's mostly burying herself in history. Is she doing this due to "burnout" from work overload, or is she burnt out on doing news analysis -- from covering the Trump shit for 4 years? Doesn't much matter, does it? NBC/Universal is paying her zillions to basically be in oblivion. I mean, who the heck wants to watch news stuff on Mondays? Not me. And her election night analysis/coverage? Ugh, Rachel, why even bother? Who's watching or cares about anyone's analysis on election night -- except from Kornacki? Well, I am wondering if a history podcast (even from Rachel) will attract much listeners. Look, Rachel is just as sharp as she ever was, but she is absolutely in oblivion now to me, so if I want news analysis, I gotta look elsewhere. Kara Swisher seems to be popping up everywhere lately & she's been around forever, but mostly covered the tech world. Yet she's not just talking Musk & Twitter, but politics in general. Replacement for Rachel? Who knows, but her podcasts are great, just sayin' . . .
  24. Ah, Rachel ended her show tonite so perfectly. She clearly made the point about Dems passing into law, negotiating Medicare drug prices -- and how Rubio wants to role this back. She shook her head sadly & asked why the people of Florida (a state bursting with older people) would want him as a senator -- as he'll likely get re-elected cuz the infinitely more qualified Val Demmings is trailing him in the polls. See, this is why I miss Rachel so much as she used to be, before this pretty-much retired shtick she's in now. We need her clear-eyed, dead-on analysis so much now, but we only get these tiny glimmers . . . I agree, Molly had a great chemistry with Andy Levy on The New Abnormal. Actually, I mentioned Molly cuz I thought maybe Rach might consider doing a similar podcast. Now, that would be great!!
  25. Speaking of podcasts, I'm now hooked on Molly Jong Fast's new podcast. If you miss Rachel, cuz she's pretty much never on anymore or spends most of her shows (the rare time she is on) giving history lessons, I highly recommend Molly's podcast! It has become my replacement for Rachel's show as it is now. Yup, I tried watching Rach last week & this week, and it left me puzzled & thinking Rach is in some bizarro alternate universe where she's thinking she's still on every day & can do the same show & she thinks it'll work the same way. Welp, you're not, Rach & someone needs to clue you & your production crew in that when you spend half your show giving a history lesson, then you have zero time to interview with anyone with any kind of depth, or talk much about any of the latest news. Last week, she never talked about Letitia James or any of the week's Trump news. Really, Rach? Ugh! She had Dahlia Lithwick on this week & sure, she has a great chemistry with her, but so what? Dahlia has so much important analysis to discuss on what's going on with this horrible & frightening Supreme Court, & Rachel must've spent (maybe) 5 minutes with her. Sorry, Rach, but that just sucks! Molly (on her podcast) spent nearly a half-hour with a terrific in-depth interview with Dahlia. This is what Rachel used to do, but sadly, and notedly, now does NOT do. Sorry, Rach, but I'm ready to move on from you if your show (and career) is headed to mostly (or only) giving history lessons. Maybe it's time for Rach to retire completely from TV & teach & write books? She'd make a great professor!
