Wow, at least when Grace remembered insulting Frankie, she felt bad about it. Frankie's still chuckling about making fun of Grace in the past. Sounds like Robert and she were quite the team in belittling his wife - good times! Remind me not to mind when Grace says something thoughtless to Frankie.

I think what is important is that when Tony asked Steve if he knew Bucky had killed his parents, he basically said yes. In his apology letter, he acknowledges that he knew and didn't tell Tony because he thought it would be easier for Tony, but now acknowledges that it was to make things easier for himself. So the canon is that Steve knew with time enough to tell Tony if he had wanted to.

I don't think Robert ever cheated on Sol. If you are thinking about that caterer, Sol and Robert were broken up at the time.
I am tired of everyone dumping on Grace. Is her self esteem so low that she assumes she deserves everyone's garbage? I hope she finally gets to tell everyone off; I want to see her 40 years of anger show up and tell everyone to go to hell. No wonder she drinks so heavily.

Perhaps Bucky had a handler to ensure he killed the Starks, and that person filmed it. Otherwise, a random camera set up on a rural road doesn't make any sense, which by the way . . . The Starks left their penthouse (I assume in NYC) to head to the airport (I assume, since they were going to the Bahamas by way of DC). Why were they on a deserted rural road? What is rural between downtown Manhattan and the airports? Or were they driving to DC and then taking the plane?

Once again, with all the angst only Grace made me cry. Paraphrasing - You will not die. I wasn't allowed to be mad at you because you were gay. I'm not allowed to be mad at you now because you're sick. You cannot die; I have 40 years built up of stuff to say.
Jane hits all the right notes in that scene.

Wasn't it only a couple of weeks ago that Boden reprimanded Brett for just checking on a patient she saved? Where was the outrage against Gabby refusing to let go of a call? When he was talking with Casey, hubby thought he convinced Casey to get Louis fostered out so that Gabby couldn't foster him. That might have been more interesting. Now I am holding out for both - he got her the meeting, but also insured she couldn't have him. Too bad the other family didn't work out.
Show, stop teasing me about her dying. As if we would be so lucky.
Antonio just showed that being insufferable must be a genetic condition. I just wish Casey had shut him down harder.

And they were conscious enough to know what was happening to them. His father's last words were asking Bucky to help his wife. He heard his mother's last words. Tony wouldn't have been a murderer - manslaughter at best and I think he'd still get off for temporary insanity.
I thought it crazy that Howard was driving around with the super spy stuff in the trunk, but I assumed the idea was to fly under the radar. Apparently he needed a VW bug.

I think the movie showed that they all need restraint. Before he even knew Bucky was innocent, Steve helped him escape. Maybe they didn't kill any of those police that were coming to get Bucky, but I am pretty sure there was some heavy collateral damage. And Bucky's insistence to Steve that he wasn't going to kill anyone? I can't imagine the guy whose motorcycle he stole was feeling pretty good, and blowing up the tunnel certainly didn't help those innocent drivers. Black Panther was fighting to kill before he discovered he had the wrong guy.
Why would Clint come out and help Steve? He announced his retirement to avoid having to deal with the Accords. What was his motivation? Or is he like Tony and secretly doesn't want to stop?
Anyway, as many have already said, it is completely unrealistic to think the public is angry that the Avengers can't stop unstoppable evil without some innocent bystanders getting hurt. Black Panther's dad was completely wrong on that one: You can still get justice, even though some innocent lives will be lost.
Onto a completely unpopular opinion - I cannot stand Wanda. She can't get off my screen fast enough, and I hope to find out she dies in a sequel. She can be the Avenger whose death inspires them all to come back together.

I was amazed that Frank could publicly call out his boss for a crime and, not only is he not required to apologize, his boss actually apologizes publicly to him. The writers must drink. Heavily.
My favorite part was his secret meeting with Erin when she actually rolled her eyes at him and called him out on his BS. Unfortunately, she backed down later by apologizing for Nickie (for daring to have an opinion, as best as I could tell) and giving him a heads up about the mayor being innocent of his charge.
Maybe this show should end like Seinfeld - Danny is charged with violating someone's civil rights and the prosecutors just have a lieu of past suspects, witnesses, and innocent bystanders lined up to testify against him.

And don't we already know that Tony basically rebuilds the communities? Doesn't bring anyone back to life, but the Avengers don't just leave.
Of course, in no way would 117 countries meet and hash out this document without any of the Avengers knowing it. So surprising them with it three days before the big meeting and telling them they must read and either agree or retire before it's signed is ridiculous. This is when hubby reminds me that it's a super hero flick and to stop trying to make it make sense!

When they first found out about the extra soldiers, Steve and Sam made the decision not to tell Tony. By the time Steve bothered to bring Tony into the loop, the situation had escalated too far.

I saw an interview with Wahlberg, and he said he really likes how Danny has reflected and grown this season; I am assuming there must be a lot of scenes on the cutting room floor. He also enjoys when they can take an issue and show all sides of it. I thought, "You mean Frank's side and the wrong side?" Because I have never seen a show less nuanced than this one in dealing with complex stories.

I saw it last night. I am a vocal, unabashed Tony fan. I know this is supposed to be a Captain America film, but if every Avengers-esque movie Tony is in becomes "Tony is wrong and everyone yells at him until he apologizes," then I think I am done. I still don't know why Natalie yelled at Tony for being arrogant when he just heard about Rhodey's paralysis. They all get mad when Tony (and Bruce - but somehow he is excused) don't trust them with the Ultron project, but Steve decides not to trust Tony about the extra winter soldiers and the fake psychiatrist and - oh, yeah - the death of his parents and somehow Tony is the bad guy in those decisions, too. I expected during the final fight to be hearing Captain trying to reason with Tony or beg him to stop or saying he doesn't want to hurt Tony as they fight, but no Steve looks, of all things, angry as he is beating up Tony. Tony just watched his parents not die in a car wreck, but actually be murdered in close range bare-handed, but Tony is the bad guy again. I thought the fed-exec apology was a cop out, and frankly I am also pissed they decided to explain Pepper's absence as they broke up. The worst moments in Tony's life and she isn't there for him? Almost no one is? Just no.

We all loved it! Boys are still talking about it almost a week later. We saw it Saturday and then let them watch the original on Sunday. They unanimously decided the new one is much better. I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around the CGI, and my boys refuse to believe it was all animation.
My only quibble is that I am tired of the 3-D option. I know it is here to stay, but I hate that now I have to brace myself throughout the movie for those scary moments when one character lunges unexpectedly. I know 3-D viewers love the action coming toward them; I hate it, even in 2-D.

I forgot to mention that I was really bothered by Louis' story because I wanted to know how they were getting the boy to look so sad. It took me right out of the story because I was so concerned.
Did the writers forget Cruz is a Zumba instructor? He could have run with Otis without issue.

Casey's lesson learned - You dance to Dawson's tune or you don't dance at all.
I was so happy that the social worker gave her the side eye about becoming Louie's foster mother. Thanks for adding the voice of reality to the situation. Why do I have this fear, however, that Dawson will magically be approved because she is too special to have ordinary rules apply to her.
I thought the ice cubes were ridiculous (although hubby says they are really a thing), and I didn't think Hermann overreacted at all. I wouldn't trust Stella to do anything after that stunt, much less get the new sheetrock in. Aren't they probably going to have to have electricians come in to check the wiring? Or is she supposed to know how to do that, too? Not surprised she and Dawson are friends.
Anyone else hoping the children's center is no longer viable because the city had to spend money on fancy new masks for their fire fighters? And did everyone need one? About buying two or three (or even only one) for the lead search and rescue people?

The "force him to testify" storyline was just clunky, but I had no sympathy for the mother who acted like it was Erin's and Anthony's fault that her son witnessed the murder. You don't get to complain about the DA not getting the bad guy when you withhold from them the only piece of evidence they have.
Listening to Frank tell Gormley to get over himself because he didn't want to go to a party for the exact same reason Frank didn't want to go to the party? Stupid.
However, the biggest break from reality in the whole show was Danny having any sort of self-awareness that he might have been biased in solving his case.

Our bookclub is reading Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld. It is supposed to be a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice. I have read the first twenty pages and want my money back. I've read fanfiction that is better than this tripe. She ripped off the names, but made no effort to capture the spirit of the original. It is going to be a long meeting.

One of my favorite feel-good moments is the father-daughter talk in Sixteen Candles. "That's why they call them crushes. If they were easy, they'd call 'em something else."

I, too, was thinking about the poor aunt who probably lives in an apartment in California that doesn't allow dogs. Didn't Seceride say something about bringing Pouch back anytime? I was confused.
When the kid was thanking everyone and trying not to cry, how could everyone just stand there?!? I expected Christopher at least to do or say something.

If It Wasn't For That One Thing: How Movies Could've Been Better
in Everything Else Movies
I always assumed they are based on Mr. and Mrs. Isador Straus. He co-founded Macy's. She refused to leave him behind. He was offered a seat and refused to leave other women and children behind. Instead, she gave her fur coat to her maid and had her take the spot on the lifeboat. That is a story that could have been the centerpiece, but it would have screwed up the movie's narrative that the rich were evil and flawed while all the truly noble people were the ones in third class and steerage.
