And Kevin Love, on the other hand, was absolutely useless.
I know this is the prevailing opinion, but I am going to have to disagree. First, everyone knew the Warriors were a bad match up for him; then he gets a nasty concussion in game 2 that I don't think he had fully recovered from by game 4 and maybe even 5, no matter what he says; the public had set him up to be the biggest scapegoat, unfairly IMO (when LeBron and Kyrie were on fire for 82 points, did people really want Kevin to demand the ball to pad his own numbers?); then in game 7 he goes lights out on the boards and has an amazing 4th quarter stop guarding Curry of all people.
He needs to work on his defense, but I am glad he is staying in Cleveland!

I agree, Melora, that the book was highly overrated. I really didn't like it at all.

Tribe hit four! In one inning! Off Verlander! Hope this winning thing is contagious in Cleveland!

I loved that Chris always referred to the baby by her full name with a big smile when she said Christine.

I was the last in my family to see Wonderful Life at about age 8. I was in the back room on the B&W TV (because, of course) and I came out each commercial complaining about how bad/unfair the movie was. My mom would smile and send me back. By the end I could begudgingly see how he could decide his life was wonderful, but I was still miffed. She chuckled at my passion. It's a funny story I like to share now because I still remember my ranting, but I have never made my kids watch it.

I found "What Alice Forgot" at the library book sale and bought it for $.40 before remembering I didn't like "The Husband's Secret." Thought I would give Liane Moriarty another try. Nope, still don't like her books.
Too bad because the premise was interesting (Alice wakes up from a fall thinking it is 1998 and she is expecting her first child with her wonderful husband. She finds out it is 2008, she has three kids she does not remember, and she is going through a bitter divorce. How did she get here?)
Unfortunately, it seems to boil down to
SpoilerOnce Alice stops being a bitch everyone will love her again. Thank goodness for that head injury!
Frankly, I can't believe a woman wrote this.

And, really, Cleveland has been awesome about the championship! For so many years, it's been the punch line of the nation. It finally puffs its chest a little, emphasis on little, and people are getting offended. Where was their outrage when Cleveland was called the mistake on the lake and everyone else laughed?
Frankly, it's just been so joyous here. The worst thing I've heard about Cleveland's celebration has been the false report of the stolen fire truck. The police tweeted a picture of the people standing and cheering on top of it with a note that said, "See, the fire truck was not stolen. This, however, is not okay." Still makes me chuckle.

ON FEBRUARY 25, 2015 AT 8:00 PM, CRS97 SAID:
Okay, here is my secret: Go to abebooks.com and type the title in there. Be sure and read the book's condition, but I have only been disappointed once in my dealings on that site and it was because I hadn't taken that particular book's warnings as seriously as they wanted me to. I am finding first editions of the book at around $20 and good to very good paperbacks at around $3-4 with free shipping!
All of Austen's books are in the public domain and on Project Gutenberg in multiple formats, for anyone who doesn't need paper (I know some people prefer it).
Just wanted to be clear that my post was regarding a book detailing the behind the scenes of the Pride and Prejudice miniseries. You will not find first editions of Jane Austen's novels for $20! :-)

Well, to paraphrase a player, "Guys talk trash in this league all the time. I'm just kind of shocked some guys take it so personal." Klay, Curry's wife, Steph himself, Green, etc. were all yapping about LeBron until he finally woke up and did something about it. I guess the Warrior fans got their feelings hurt.

It reminds me of what Kim Goldman said in one of her books - - that after the "not guilty" verdict, Simpson smirked at her and her family and Johnnie Cochran said "gotcha!" to them. I could never, ever have one iota of respect for Johnnie Cochran after hearing that.
This may be anathema to many, and I am sure that Kim really thinks this happened, but I do not believe that Cochran turned to her family and smirked a "Gotcha!" to them. His beef was not with the Goldman family. It was with the police department. Of course he was happy that he won the case and in the process shone a light on racism in the police department. He may have even mouthed, "Gotcha!" to someone. I just don't think it was to the Goldman family.

Whatever complaints -- I'm not sure where you are getting the numbers "66 or 67" -- were made about him earlier in his career do not justify destroying his life for something he didn't do in 1994, anymore than OJ Simpson's successful football career and popular Hollywood persona justify letting him get away with a double murder.
I think the better analogy is whether people are uncomfortable with OJ serving a much harsher sentence than normal for robbery. Or as Toobin said,
"It's the perfect perversity of the O.J. Simpson case that he was acquitted of the crime he was guilty of and convicted of a crime he's innocent of."
Anyway, regardless of the analogy, Fuhrman's life was ruined because he lied under oath. The defense didn't force him to do that.

I don't think the gloves were planted, but I'm not sure that I completely buy the explanation that the police officer would lose his career if he planted the glove and then it turned out that OJ had an alibi. I would imagine that if the officer declared that he found a glove on OJ's property and then OJ showed his ticket and receipts that he was 600 miles away at the time of the murders, the officer would just say that the person who murdered Nicole and Ron must have known that she was OJ's ex-wife and wanted to frame OJ for the crime. I would think it would be pretty easy to pass the buck.

Your previous post suggested that Kerr perhaps should be believed because he was willing to be fined in order to expose the refs' supposed biased calls against his team (as I said earlier, chat with Kevin Love about that). My point is that Kerr is willing to pretend the video we all saw of Green kicking a player was an unintentional leg flailing that has never happened before or since Green so accurately flailed his leg in that particular area of his opponent's body. Logic analysis says to look at who tells me information and decide whether he is credible before I analyze the information he provides. I'm done at step one - I don't care how many zeros he adds to his check; Kerr is not credible.
And the Warriors might want to rethink their LeWhine memes, considering how they are handling adversity.

At least 2 fouls on Curry were "wtf" level.
I'm sure Kevin Love would be happy to chat with him about getting called for non-existent fouls.
One small thing I love about these finals games in Cleveland: the national anthem is not a performance. The fans sing it, and it brings me to tears every time.

Man, the scenes with Hank and the girl were awkward, as I don't think Marc has ever had much romantic chemistry with anyone. I also thought it was a set up so my favorite exchange was Boris telling Hank he had her checked and Hank saying he would pretend he didn't hear that. I like Boris so was happy to see him happy with his wife and son. No idea what the intrigue is, but it's Boris so I'll stay semi-interested. More than I am about Hank's love life.
I loved the dinner party conversation; Raj made me laugh several times. Evan is a sweetheart. I hope they don't make him stupid again for plot purposes.

My Tribe are in first! Exciting times in Cleveland right now. (Unfortunately, our family got tickets for Memorial Day when apparently the team thought they were on holiday, too.)
Sharing the Lindor love:
This link is from yesterday:
We started watching him in Akron at the AA level, and you just knew he was a star in the making. He clearly loves the game, and his enthusiasm is contagious!

Y'all reminded me of some other sitcom that had a reunion episode. Two attendees had not seen each other since high school. "A" mentioned that he had a government job. "B" bragged loudly and at length that he was a waiter at a fancy restaurant, made a fortune in tips, and declared only a fraction of it for income taxes. Turned out "A" was an auditor for the IRS. (That's the income tax agency in the US.) Guessing that Penny did not get that much in tips, although some guys might have given her big tips …
That was a great scene from Taxi!
On Friends, at least they kept hand waving that the girls were illegally subletting a rent controlled apartment from Monica's grandmother. I appreciated the effort at least.

Did Chris and Cindy buy a new house? I thought they were still in the apartment after losing their home in the first season. What did I miss?

Tucker!! Whose dad was Andrew McCarthy. And he had a crazy awesome girlfriend. I miss them.
This is the same guy who last week told the house woman he thought she had syphillis BEFORE the tests had come back. One of those "pause the DVR and tell hubby that is not a diagnosis you ever give someone as a hunch" moments.
