  1. Wow. That was a bad fall by the Polish dancers -- and right at the end of the routine, too!
  2. I'm watching it on Peacock. They're just introducing the skaters now.
  3. So is anyone else going to watch the entire Free Dance on Peacock, or is everyone going to wait for the watered-down version on NBC Primetime? I for one can't wait to see the Ukrainians' Free Dance!
  4. Of course they are. Heaven forbid they should throw Eteri or anyone like her under the bus!
  5. When he hit his 30s and stopped taking his hairstyling tips from Carrot Top.
  6. I agree. And as much as it sucks for Valieva and the other ROC athletes, a strong example has to be made of Russia this time in order to put an end to the crap that they've been letting Eteri and others like her get away with for the better part of a decade. The team gold needs to be stripped, and Valieva needs to be suspended from competition for at least the rest of the season, meaning not just the Olympics, but the 2022 Worlds as well. And Russia needs to be completely banned from the Olympics (Summer and Winter), Europeans, and Worlds for the rest of the decade.
  7. Man, it is really coming down HARD out there on the course today. I can barely see the skiers for all the falling snow!
  8. I wondered how much of the Rhythm Dance portion of the competition would make it to primetime. Trust NBC to make it almost entirely about the US teams. If I hadn't watched the entire competition earlier today on Replay, I wouldn't have known about the Ukrainians' beautiful Foxtrot/Jive medley, One good thing about NBC's broadcast is that unlike with Peacock, I actually know what specific technical elements the judges are looking for and scoring. So there's that.
  9. Did you forget about the gold medal in Short-Track Speed Skating in Salt Lake City in 2002 when everyone except for Stephen Bradbury crashed out? He had been dead last up until the mass wipeout, and I still remember vividly his "What the fuck just happened?" expression when he alone crossed the finish line in an upright position.
  10. I just caught up with this on Replay. While France is probably a lock for the gold at this point, I wouldn't count the US out for a bronze or possibly even a silver. They'd need some help from the French and the Russians for anything higher, though. Actually, the one dance I enjoyed the most was the one from the Ukrainians. Their simple, classic Foxtrot/Jive medley was beautiful to watch, and stodgy old-school traditionalist that I am (and damn proud of it!), it's what I really think of whenever I think of ice dancing. I'm glad that they qualified for the Free Dance, and I can't wait to see what they do there!
  11. AND what does this mean for OUR ladies' chances of at least making the podium? I'm not watching for the Russians, you know!
  12. The men competing in the men's halfpipe are insanely talented. My jaw drops every time I see how much air they're getting and the way they're flying down the pipe!
  13. Finally -- that's the first clean skate I've seen so far!
  14. Cool. I've got the full Free Skate without commentary on Peacock!
  15. Somebody needs to give Mikaela Shiffrin a hug and a cookie. NOW.
  16. So I'm watching the women's halfpipe qualifying rounds, and I'm already impressed with some of the insane skills these young women are showing. They are really giving new meaning to "defying gravity"!
  17. Nathan should be a lock for gold now, especially with Hanyu out of medal contention. So the real question to me is who's going to get silver and bronze.
  18. Yes, both he and Hanyu are in this group.
  19. Peacock is still showing men's figure skating -- and WITHOUT commentary!
  20. That was a powerful skate by Semenenko. What are his chances of making the podium, do y'all think?
  21. I love the Mexican kid. Well done, chico!
