  1. The "beautiful" young Ryann catfishgirl made me want to smack her stupid face. What a freakin' liar. I am sick and tired of Dr. Pill's show and rarely watch at all, everytime I do, it's some idiot "beyootiful young girl" and their family who get offered a stay at a resort psycho destination to be rehabbed. Mom on this show I must say showed an amazing restraint. Girl just kept lying thru her fat square face one lie after another. Who cares??!!! Last show before this one I watched was where at the end the plastic Madam Robin was showing off the little expensive kid's health & beauty aid thingeys with the cutesy names. I can't imagine that all that wasteful packaging to get at a package of 4 snot rags is going much of anywhere. And Robin!!! For Gosh Sakes you are so full of juvederm & other fillers you can't even open your mouth wide enough to talk coherently!! What a hot mess she is!
  2. I also went back and recently finished watching Seasons 1-3 again. I was shocked at how much I had missed, and how absolutely wonderful those seasons were! I confess I stopped watching when I heard Matthew was to be killed off, and was unreasonably upset that Dan Stevens would want to leave such a great character so soon, oh well.... I finally saw just why Mary distrusts & despises Edith so much, for without Edith writing to the Turkish ambassador about how Pamuk really died, there would have been virtually no scandal for Mary to have to live down. I would have been furious with her as well, had someone so close to me caused so many remorseful and regrettable moments for one indiscretion to go on for years. On the other hand, I found that whole storyline to be slightly ridiculous, I don't think a young woman like Mary would have taken such a chance with a virtual stranger. Someone early on suggested that the sex they had would have left Mary 'intact', but I hardly think someone having their first experience would have consented to THAT! I know the story was based somewhat on a true incident Fellowes had knowledge of, but the lady in question could have been married, or a widow, or much older. It didn't happen to someone like Mary, I don't believe.
  3. Add me to the list of those who were disappointed Dr. Gates didn't share what Maya Lin's DNA showed. I was fascinated to learn more about her, I remember all the hoopla raised when her design was picked. Now I understand so much more! I have visited the Wall a couple of times, and found it very moving. I didn't get to watch the entire episode, between cooking & cleaning after work, but I felt that Mr. Gehry was more than remorseful about having to feel like he must change his name to succeed in that world. Thank God times have changed (somewhat). I felt strangely attracted to him, although I have never been a fan of his style. Richard Branson is someone who struck me as entirely true to himself, I guess he followed his Mum's advise very well. In this day and age when we get so used to people on TV having perfect smiles, his teeth are very disconcerting, but they are real, just like I think he is. Was so pleased for him to find out about his Southeast Asian connection. He does pay it forward I think, and thankfully for him, his ancestor did the same to some very poor children...
  4. One last thing before we go Saoirse... to Enigma, or anyone chasing the DNA tail out there, 1% 2% is nothing. The DNA results will tell you that can even be a mistake. And as for the "white guilt" someone else mentioned, almost everyone I meet tells me they are "Native American", specifically Cherokee & Blackfoot, or some other bizarre combination from two opposite ends of the country!! I was born on the rez, and have spent a lot of time there. Blacks also claim a lot of the same background, and that is why I like Dr. Gates' show, because he addresses that issue many times & proves it false. There were some Indians who held slaves, some who fought with the Confederacy during the Civil War. Most Indians intermarried / interbred with whites, because that had an advantage to some, particularly the 5 Civilized Tribes, whose attempts to become like the Europeans mistakenly thought they would be left in peace. They had some plantations, their own newspapers, and written languages. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and the end result was the forced relocation along the Trail of Tears. Why would Indians take up with slaves, which would have been a step backward on the scale. Most Indian people get really pi$$ed when non-Indians try to identify with some mythical distant Indian ancestor. You have taken enough from us! Leave our blood alone! Also I couldn't understand why Ben Affleck was upset by something a distant ancestor did. They aren't me, and I am not them! Likewise when Dr. Gates told Ken Burns about some similar things in his background he was so ashamed. He was a real whiney a$$ about that. Holy Man! It's called history. Even though my peoples endured harsh attempts of genocide, I have this one life to live, and I am going to make the most of it. You can't bring back the times before the whites & blacks came here....believe me, we all didn't live in peace & harmony back then when it was just Indians either. People better be appreciative that their ancestors persevered and tried to survive, otherwise NONE of us would be here. If some segments of the population don't change their idiotic ways, and stop shooting everybody, then we will ALL be ancient history! Getting down off my podium now, thank you for listening.........
  5. I threw up in my mouth watching this oily fat 4ss faker with the 19 year old. I too wondered what they came on the show for, most probably you are right about the foster care. They don't get their food stamps & welfare bennies when the kids are removed. As well they should have been! I noticed the "pastor" said he doesn't really have a church, he just does this food pantry thing, but it was a little confusing to me. That 19-year old didn't look like she was too with-it. Had to laugh at the "Ron Jeremy" reference in the earlier post. My daughter wandered through while I was wasting an hour of my life watching this, and mentioned "Ron Jeremy is a better man that that freak, at least he doesn't go after under-age girls!" (I had to ask myself how did my angelic girl know anything about Ron Jeremy???!!! But I will sit on that thought for awhile....!
  6. I had seen this episode about Nancy Pfister before, but watched it again, glad I did. I was surprised to see they had actually re-edited some of the footage, added more, and gave that epilogue. I wish more shows would do that! I don't believe Trey did it by himself either. I think he fell on his sword for his wife. The fact that she left the area, changed her name and divorced him must have been incredibly devastating to him. Not surprised he took his own life. That's the tragedy. It's a tragedy for most people who end up as murder victims, but like the previous poster, I also have little sympathy for Nancy Pfister. Sounds like she was a loathsome beyotch to most everyone. Sorry for her daughter though.
  7. This is a thought-provoking show, finally something TLC gets right! For me it all boils down to showing that even those with disabilities are just the same as everybody else, you have those you would hang with, and those who drive you crazy I love Christina & her parents, and Megan. Rachel is so sweet! I love how all of them do try and understand each other's personality quirks, and they do seem to make up and move on quickly. Re: Sean's credit card, he didn't get one, he just got one of those bulk mailings the credit companies send out enmass. That's what his mother was explaining to him about "some mail you get is not important", and trying to show him if he DID have a credit card what that would entail.
  8. I watched Allen and Michelle on WWHL, and thought that Allen seemed a little subdued. Michelle was pretty effervecent though. I was so sorry to hear about her Fiance. What a tragedy for all of them, seems like Downton come to life...you get used to those types of things happening back in the day, but today when someone so young dies so quickly from disease, it's a punch in the gut. So very sorry for them.
  9. I couldn't believe the sick MIL on the show. But something was really off about the daughter....her whiney voice and whenever she sounded like she was "tearing up" I never saw any real tears. She seemed very strange to me, in fact if it was any other show I would have said she was just a set-up. The husband wasn't faking anything! Of all the people I have seen on Dr. Shrill, he is one of the most touchingly real, in-need-of-help people I have watched. God Bless him.
  10. I love Charleston, and have spent many happy times there. I was just a little thrown off when I heard Bourdain say something about the first Charleston show he did and how he "took so much flack about that show that I had to return and do it over". I have seen that episode several times, with the Lee Brothers and some Gullah cooking and oyster roasting...thought it was pretty good. He had the side adventure with the Civil War re-enactors filmed at Boone Hall Plantation I think. I thought it was a good episode. Bill Murray was in another episode with Bourdain when he did a show in NY around the Hudson River. I get kinda pissed when some NY guy says 'WE don't want anyone else moving down here'. You can move back whenever you wish Bill, we don't need any more YANKEES moving here. I like Sean's style, watched him on Mind of a Chef too. Something else I missed was "mule foot soup" or something equally disgusting. Bourdain used to be a favourite of mine, but I find him to be a hipster doofus anymore. His rants tire me out. Waffle House is great, if only for the pecan waffles, and their omelets. We go there every Christmas for dinner, a tradition that started about 8 years ago when my daughter & I were out driving late and saw that they were open. Love it!
  11. I didn't think I would watch, but was bored and gave it a shot. I don't find the kids terribly talented. The constant repeating of catch phrases from regular PR designers is irritating to me. Something that squicked me out was the TH with the girl who was eliminated when she said something like "when you've got 'girls' you need to show them off, right??" I thought this was highly inappropriate for underage kids to be saying. So look at the PR Lil' Rascals: the boys are so over the top, especially the kid with the enormous lisp...but glad they feel comfortable to be themselves. The girls are just *meh*. Found the tailoring and finishing to be atrocious. Course you see that with regular PR **Winners** too, when they glue flowers to a HOT MESS OF A FINALE OF A RUNWAY SHOW! Nods to Ashley.... I will watch again, see if they settle down and show something good. Kid from KY, please get rid of that stupid hat. Couldn't stand Merline's last season, can't stand yours. Why are 90% of them from Cali?
  12. I am wondering if I am the only one who has noticed this: when I saw Cody's mother at the "Adoption Jamboree and Whop-te-Do" I realized something creepy (not that there isn't a plethora of those) but Sobyn looks SO MUCH LIKE CODY'S MOTHER!!! They have that same unattractive jawline, same color hair, and look like they are closely related. I can't wait for Sobyn's nose & chin to grow together and she will finally have the face she has earned with her deceit, fake fuckery, and wicked lying ways...
  13. I absolutely CANNOT get why "FAT*ASHlee" won. Lots of people out there doing Plus Size clothing, I know cause I am a plus size kinda girl! This is the first season of PR I have watched in a couple of years. I WON'T be back for next season, after this ho-hum snoozefest. I agree with a previous poster who asked why this season's designers weren't screened better. Swapnil was the only hope. I liked Candice's stuff mostly, and thought her tailoring seemed great; I just get tired of black, black, red, black. I liked Edmund's stuff too, for the most part, especially his Finale (yes even the toilet paper dress I thought looked 'editorial'). Kelly was fun to watch, and she put lots of effort into her materials. I wasn't on board with her designs though, but she was much more deserving than Ashley. I liked some of Ashley's colour pallettes, but also agree with previously posted that she "can't even make herself look good, so WHY would I buy any of her designs?" Totally impractical and that hideous finale, with the exception of that turq colored number---I DID like--were cheap & badly done. The fact that she glued those flowers on that last monstrous thing should have had her eliminated right then and there. I am sick of PR now, even my favourite guy TimGunn let me down this time because he went after Swapnil so roughly. Almost forgot to write how much I can't stand Kelly Osborne anymore. Used to like her, now she's a bad parody of her former self. The force-feeding of PR Jr's I won't watch either. Goodbye PR, you were great TV when you played it clean and fair...now just GO AWAY.
  14. I am with all of you who believe there are "plants" on this show...and I also think many people pay some of those prices just to get themselves on TV. I do love to watch the show however, just to see what they make out of the stuff. No way do I think many of them would get anywhere without the experts they have to do all the real work on the pieces. I have learned a lot of stuff from the experts while they are trying to help some of these people turn their visions into reality. Love the guy who does most of the welding, and the upholstery guy the most, although ALL of them are so talented.
  15. I haven't watched the last 3 seasons of PR because I just didn't want to pay the cable bill....I am glad to be watching it again. That being said, I can't stand that stupid little twit Blake. He isn't that good, and playing stupid can't be THAT big of a stretch. He's a little minion. Can't stand looking at Ashley with all the makeup, purple hair, and crazy mashed outfits. Girl, just because you are BIG doesn't mean you can't look GOOD! Being a bit older, I cannot understand the wretched hair colour that some women wear these days....the purple is a lot better though than that hideous Bozo red so many black & white women thinks they look good in. You are only young ONCE!!! Use your beauty, don't ABUSE it! Adore Swapnil's everything!! Edmond a close second. Marline should go go go. Can't stand her designs. Hated the coat she made this time, and everything else she has put her hands on. Feel so sorry for Tim, he is such a peach, looks like he may have had a run-in with shingles or something similar. His poor skin! I still love him! I could go the rest of my life though, without hearing another word out of HIDE-ee's mouth. Good grief, she is irritating to me. Putting Amanda out, don't really get why she was at the bottom on every show. Other people (hint hint MARLINE) were mush worse. Watched Amanda recently with her husband on "Flea Market Flip" she did a much better job on that show. Almost threw up when I saw the results of the women's fabric painting. What a hot pastel mess.....Tired of these silly challenges, I am with the group that wants the designers back at MOOD picking out what they want to use to design with on the show.
