Oh, I would prefer if they do change the future and Deke fades away. It also gives the implication that we won't know the future and choices DO matter but as of now who knows where they are going down this road. Making everything predetermine is a bit pointless, IMO, unless they are trying to do a causality loop thing but I have no idea if that is the case (and it would also mean that they accidentally do cause the world ending by trying to stop it), here is a video trying to explain the different types of time travel:

A time travel analysis without Doctor Who?  Or Star Trek?  :-)

I'm not sure why it's a surprise that Deke/Daisy have fans. Quite frankly, I'm surprised at the seething hate he receives here. Also surprised how many state that Daisy does not reciprocate Dekes feelings at all when IMO she does.

Not everyone is going to agree with the Deke hating points. Others will see the characters positive actions far outweigh one bad thing he did.

I don't hate Deke at all.  If the actor had been written in as a different character (or stayed his original charming low level criminal self), I would have been fine with him.  I'll even grant that the actors have some on-screen chemistry. But the writing and plotting has been all over the place and Deke is the face of it.  So he gets the brunt of the dissatisfaction.

Considering the way AoS likes to match couples up, D/D makes about as much sense as anything else.  But at the moment, all I see is Daisy treating Deke like an irritating child, which doesn't scream romance to me.  If they are leaving clues for it, I need to get new glasses. :-)

Look, trying to handwave Deke's decision to sell Daisy into slavery for money is what the show is trying to do. Not only that but shipping them together is pointless because you have the baggage that Deke treated Daisy (and saw Daisy) as nothing more than cattle to be sold to the Kree. It is a defining feature of him because he obviously doesn't see what was so wrong about it and the show isn't even bothering trying to be a little self-aware about their pairing choices, IMO. Sure they made him into Fitz and Simmons grandson but guess what I don't care if he is Fitz and Simmons grandson because he is a horrible person. Not only that but, IMO, the writing has made his grandparents into some pretty horrible people as well.

Plus, that is pretty much all we really know about him is that a) he runs a bar with Framework tech, b) sold Daisy into slavery for money, c) is Fitz and Simmons grandson, d) his mom is dead (because the Kree murder her) but he has no problem with working with the same people who murder his mother and now e) he has feeling for Daisy.

When Coulson told Talbot that they had gone into the future, a future where humanity was enslaved by the Kree - I felt a little better because that aligned with what I felt was the fact that Deke was still basically a slave himself.  Which makes it a grayer (much grayer) area. Not necessarily more palatable, but more complicated.

But honestly, I'm baffled that there are Daisy/Deke shippers, considering what happened in the future.  And if you get past that - if someone likes Deke at all - why would they want him with Daisy? Most guys Daisy falls for usually end up dead or otherwise unavailable at the end of an arc.  Right now Deke has a massive crush on Daisy (which is okay played for laughs) that is not reciprocated at all.  The most I'd ever expect (or want) is that they eventually become friendly-ish, as well as comrades in arms.

  4. I liked Majandra a lot, too - especially Maria's dynamic with her mom. It was the first thing I ever remember seeing Diane Farr in.  Same for William Sadler.  And yeah, Jason Behr was only believable when Max was mooning over Liz but overall, the cast had great chemistry.

I also kind of liked the third season, including Isabel and Jesse's Bewitched vibe. I wish I had time to do a rewatch.

I don't get why Deke is here  (other than a, "oh look he is Fitz and Simmons' future slaver grandson") and he is not really part of the story. It seems like he is only here for comedic relief but the show really doesn't need it and he is the worst character to be the comedic relief since he was also supposed to be the one that sold Daisy into slavery.

I'm beginning to think Deke's purpose (other than fish-out-of-water comic relief) is to fade out a la "Back to the Future" to show that the future has indeed been changed.

  6. I didn't discover Roswell until close to the end of the first season.  I only noticed it as there were articles that Genie Francis was going to be guest starring as Max and Isabelle's mother.  I was definitely not the target demo but it quickly became one of my favorite shows. The music, the locations and the actors made it much different than the average show.  (The plots, on the other hand... well, you can't have everything.)

I hadn't noticed that it was on Hulu—but not with all of the original music, right?

I guess we should start a board for the reboot (http://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/roswell/268203/roswell-reboot-adds-five-to-cast)

I doubt I will rewatch, except now that I know it's on Hulu, maybe the next time my youngest daughter visits, we'll watch our favorite episode, "I Married An Alien."

PTV doesn't create boards for pilots, just shows that have been picked up to series. But as soon as it is a go, then there will be one.

Casting articles can be shared in the Media topic.

  8. Sigh. I can't believe I went to the trouble of getting caught up with over a months worth of shows for this.

I don't have any background with Taylor, as she only appeared a couple of times, maybe 15 minutes total, after I started watching. But Friday's appearance, holy cow. I was embarrassed for her, the writers, the show and DD.  That scene and the OTT wailing would only make sense if Steffy was like 15 or 16.  Even back with what I've seen of Still 1.0, it wouldn't have been appropriate.

I also didn't get Liam confessing to Steffy, though for a few seconds I actually bought Steffy's concern.  I think JMW does better with scenes where Steffy isn't the primary focus.

  9. Quote

David unexpectedly shows up for Harris’ birthday after being absent for years, forcing Darlene to re-examine their relationship and the rest of the family. Meanwhile, Roseanne and Jackie’s mother, Bev, temporarily moves into the Conner home after an incident at the nursing home prevents her from returning

  10. Harvey is forced into a difficult decision when the impossible is asked of him. Mike and Rachel try to make time to discuss their future. Louis struggles with the rules of his relationship.

  11. It's too bad it wasn't Steffy who shot Bill in the back.  That's about the only thing that might make this story interesting.  (Because irony...)

While I wasn't a huge Watie fan in the beginning, I'm really disappointed that Wyatt caved and that Katie went along with it.  Wyatt should know better, Bill has no intention of ever giving him control of the company.  He just likes dangling things and messing with people.

  12. It was a mod thing, as DJ is no longer in danger of "becoming a strange smell in the attic" and now all grown up with a daughter of his own. So we thought he deserved a little better.

    Sorry, guys.

ETA: So, do you all have any better suggestions for DJ's topic?  We're willing to entertain ideas that don't involve strange smells in the attic.

  13. So, I am working through a month long backlog and in the final stretch with only 4 more to go.  I'm enjoying most of the story, except for the police interaction, which after decades of L&O on the air, you would think they'd do better.

I'm glad they've worked Liam's previous concussion into the story.  It's something a little different, though they just couldn't help themselves coupling it with the ToD.

The main reason I was in favor of a Hope recast was for Brooke's sake.  So those scenes have been welcome, though I don't feel the warmth there yet.  I've come to realize that Kim Matula, for all her foibles, had a very warm on-screen presence that seems hard to duplicate.

Wait it got extra episodes? I thought they just started after inhumans run ended.

I can't find a reference online to it now so it might have been just talk that it would have a truncated season if Inhumans did well.

In that case, the pacing looks even worse.
