With this being Martin's week in the house to take care of the kids, he discovers that daughter Mae finds his parenting skills to be lacking and a bit sexist. Meanwhile, Lena's time in the garage gives her time to contemplate going out with a handsome doctor and perhaps taking the relationship to the next level.

  2. Hopefully they find a way to fix Fitz's shattered psyche but I'm not very confident that's what they have in mind.  For one, Fitz doesn't seem to be terribly bothered by what he did to Daisy.  Before he started operating he was obviously torn (literally, in two) but once he made his decision, it changed something in him.  Just thinking about the horrified Fitz as he came out of the Framework to the cold Fitz who challenged Daisy in this episode - that's an arc I didn't see coming.  Kind of season six Buffy-ish, both revolting and riveting at the same time.

  3. This was a weirdly paced episode.  The Destroyer of Worlds twist should have had more of an impact than it did.

I actually liked Ruby for a split second, with her "Hell no, what kind of BS test is that?" scene.  Though if teen Hale's story was supposed to inspire sympathy for her, it didn't work very well. Any twinge I felt at the breeder moment was more than outweighed by the whole Hydra thing.  I know that Hydra is part of the show's (and Marvel's) mythology but I don't care and probably never will.  I didn't mind it in Agent Carter, so maybe it's just the execution?

Poor Talbot. The line about SHIELD not coming was gutting.

  4. Adrian and Diane serve as outside counsel for a broadcast network planning to air a controversial segment that would derail the career of a beloved male movie star. Maia and Lucca have vastly different experiences while on separate ride-alongs with the Chicago Police Department.

My gawd, the wait is killing me!!! This is the ONE show that has me pissed that I cut the cord!!! I want to watch it live ???

    I waited 21 years, what’s one more day before it’s online? ?

You people better deliver some amazing live updates lol, as I know you will - I can always count on my PTV family!!!! ♥️♥️

I was lucky when I cut the cord all I had to do was buy a cheap flat antenna to get most of my local channels.  I subscribe to PS Vue for cable channels and in my area they don't have the locals, just on demand from the networks.

I'm assuming the new episodes will be on Hulu and ABC's website at some point?

If he does end up being part of the team, it'll be an example of how this show will prioritize a white male character over men of color during the run of the show, considering characters like Trip, Andrew, Joey, and Robbie have gotten much less than Deke, who has no reason to be on the team (as the show never states any reason at all that he was brought along) but is still there. Mack is pretty much the example that the Rule of One is still in effect on this show.

I actually agree with this - there's no reason that they couldn't have made Deke's father a person of color. It was a missed opportunity.

Let's be frank here: slavery isn't one of those things that's defensible no matter what your societal norms are. It's inexcusable, and I find it frustrating when it's framed as something that is acceptable or understandable simply because of Deke's background (because it's not). That we've seen characters like Tess, Flint, and Ben only highlights that using his background doesn't work; Deke has no excuse. Deke also said he worked for Kasius, so selling Daisy wasn't the only thing he did for Kasius.

In our society, slavery is indefensible.  But setting the story in that particular dystopian future means that our norms no longer apply and Deke's actions re: Daisy happened to be one of the ways they chose to illustrate it.  If they were treating Deke like one of the team, that would be different but even now (except for the fish out of water scenes) he's still mostly shot on the fringes and in the shadows.

If Deke does end up as one of the team, hopefully he will have done something more to earn that redemption.

  8. In a little over 24 hours, we'll either know where we stand on a lot of the canon questions (and any resulting continuity issues) or we'll be even more confused, with decades more discussion material. :-)

    Stay tuned...

Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or even being BFF's with him.

If she comes to a place where she goes "I get what you did and why you did it but I can't never trust you again and we're not friends or acquaintances but I'll work with you because the world is bigger than what you did to me" That would make sense

Yes, this is what I was (clumsily) trying to say in my original post.

I really think the worst part of all this is the fan base might not ever forgive Fitz they may think this is to Dark to overcome

It may be too much for Fitz/FitzSimmons fans but as storytelling goes, it's kind of riveting. IDC has been great. If by the end of the series Fitz ends up truly evil (not cartoon Grant Ward evil), I'll be disappointed that Leo and Jemma didn't get a HEA but I won't be disappointed by the way the writers have evolved the characters.

  11. I don't think Fitz was instantly forgiven for what happened in the Framework - they went from that straight into the future insanity, with no time for them to really process.  Fitz actually had more time after the team disappeared for his mental state to become worse.  Since they've been back they've been focused on other crises.  As for Jemma, she's trying to make sense of it, not handwaving it but obviously a mental break makes it more complicated.  "In sickness and in health" and all that. She can't just walk away.

But I'm installing Vue next week in anticipation of seeing this show again. I've looked all over Sling's offerings and do not see TLC, so Vue it is.

I've had Vue since it launched nationally and like it but if you are only in it for TLC, you might want to try Philo instead. It's $16 a month.  (No sports, no news channels though.)

  13. Well, that was... dark.

It's weird but I kind of feel like that if they actually prevent the world from being ripped apart, Daisy might forgive Fitz more readily than we think. Because Quake is who she is and running from/denying that because she believes the "Destroyer of Worlds" thing is hurting her in a different way.  (Not that it justifies it - at all.)

For once, Deke didn't annoy me.  And I'm glad Jemma's got that sliver of hope now.

Back to our show, my money is still on Justin. Every "Yes Man" cracks at some point; this was his. My backup is Caroline, which makes me sad, because I'm one of the few that loved her & Ridge, & totally bought them as being crazy in love. Ugh, I wish misunderstanding night had never happened, but I'm betting Douglas doesn't get retconned now.

I was on the CaRidge ship myself but it wasn't misunderstanding night that ruined it for me exactly but rather, the acting choices that LG made there in the end, the baby voice being a major turn-off.  At that point it was just weird bordering on creepy.  But I still wish we'd get a Douglas retcon, so that Thomas would be clear of any entanglements with Caroline.  Any time they are even mentioned in the same sentence is a reminder of how all that started.

  15. Liz decides to represent her son’s favorite teacher after she senses the school fired him for illegitimate reasons. Lucca enlists the help of Elsbeth Tascioni when an unanticipated lawsuit hits close to home. Despite the recent chemical scare, the firm throws a party to celebrate their new offices.

    Stand With Ward

That along with hate of Skye/Daisy and I guess now Deke has been a reoccurring feature of talk about this series.

Thanks for the link.  I guess I don't get away from PTV enough (though even I am aware of the Skye/Daisy hate). I've always liked Daisy and Coulson's father/daughter vibe, enough to balance out how annoying hacker Skye could be.

  17. I don't actually know what a SWW fandom is but if it's about Ward, then that's probably why.

Right now, it seems to me that the team is barely tolerating Deke. They are (quite pragmatically) using him for his ability to go out in public, for what he knows about the end of the world and because he inadvertently came through the monoliths because of them but otherwise he's treated like a nuisance, at best. However, I'll admit you're likely right - there's a good chance they will handwave what he's done once they find out he's related to FitzSimmons and skip the real redemption arc.
